Except for the top two. The coaches all talked about how the conference was the best it has ever been, but it would have been a down year without UCLA and USC.

Maybe we will give him a plaque when they visit Lincoln.

Nebraska (21-11) vs. Louisville (21-10) Game Thread

Michigan had no rebounders this year and started five guards. With three freshmen in their lineup, they look like they are headed in the right direction to me. -

Last year TCU had to forfeit games and have open tryouts in February to have enough players to finish the season. It was a wake up call for the alumni. Some influential alumni said never again and asked the coach what he needed to compete. Then, they gave the money and got it done. I wish we would do that here. TCU got competitive in volleyball this year the same way. It doesn’t cost as much to compete in women’s sports, but the alumni have to step up with the donations. -

I think you will see a lot of her on the floor next year. If you look at the last few recruiting classes, it looks like Amy is building a team that will run up and down the court. As much as she likes to substitute, I wonder if we will see some of what Tennessee does substituting five at a time every few minutes. The Tennessee women play like it is a hockey game. Petra is the only recruit in the last several classes that doesn’t have speed in her game. I laughed a little yesterday when the announcer mentioned that Alexis didn’t even make it across half court on one Louisville possession. With the exception of Petra, that shouldn’t be a problem next year. -
Baylor is up by 4.

It is amazing what the addition of UCLA and USC did for the conference. If not for those two, the conference would have been down this year.

She would slow down our team. She got numbers due to her size, but I think Amy is building a team that runs up and down the court and she doesn’t have that in her game.

I think Volleyball is going to hurt what we have to spend on women’s basketball. Most schools will be funneling money to basketball as their premier women’s sport, but that won’t be true here.

TCU has never advanced to the Sweet 16. A Louisville win over Nebraska would give Van Lith a matchup against her former team. Louisville’s head coach was an assistant coach here when Coach Williams was a player. -
I think the loss of Alexis will be huge. We don’t have anybody on the roster that can do what she can do. I am not betting on the knee injuries coming back to the same level. Amy is going to have to hit the portal or international basketball hard. USC won the Big 10 with seven Freshmen on the roster. They have the luxury of an All World Sophomore. The best case for Nebraska to move up is getting Britt closer to being a 20 point a game scorer. Ideally you can be really good if your top three scorers average 50 points a game.

She is pretty slow sometimes. No way to verify, but I was guessing the layup yesterday against Rutgers was her first fast break points all year. -

Yet another third quarter where things got away from us. Hopefully they play better in the fourth quarter. -

Our bigs bring a lot to the table, but it does slow things down. I have enjoyed watching Michigan and their five guard lineup this year. They can play a really fast game. I wonder if Potts and Hargrove down low would allow us to play a fast game without sacrificing post play.
