  1. People aren’t getting a chance to get going. Moriarity, Potts and White were instrumental in beating Michigan. They have played fewer minutes since. It makes no sense.
  2. Who couldn’t “contribute” those numbers in 37 minutes? Taking 17 shots? And she had 4 turnovers? I’m sorry but Shelley is overrated. She didn’t stop anyone on defense. Hake was shooting well too, and White had almost as many assists and rebounds in 1/3 of the minutes Jaz had. With all the hype she gets she should be doing a lot more. I know it’s my opinion, but I’m just thinking logically at this point. What we are doing isn’t working, but we just keep doing it.
  3. Amy Williams is making some really dumb coaching decisions. Play someone 37 straight minutes for really no reason and they get hurt in the final two minutes of a blowout. Smh.
  4. I’m so sick of stupid turnovers with this team. Why isn’t Jaz coming out? 6 pts in 23 min of play? That’s not going to cut it.
  5. For the Iowa game, I do believe we need to rotate fresh bodies and hammer them defensively. Obviously, Clark will get hers, but if we can contain the other pieces we might have a chance. Of course, that means not depending on the three ball, and doing what so many have already said needs to be done...which is attacking and trying to get more high percentage shots and going to the line.
  6. One thing I know for sure after watching the Penn St game in it's entirety, is that we do not yet know who we are as a team. No identity. I don't understand how a team that played so well against Michigan could come out and Sh*t the bed the next game. It seemed like some things were established in that Michigan game, such as we need more production out of other people. AM is going to get her double-double. We all know that. Jaz may or may not get hot. But what is everyone else going to do? I believe KM needs to start in place of MK. I know some don't agree, but I don't see the upside in starting MK anymore, on either side of the floor. I also think if this Yball substitution pattern doesn't change (unlikely that it will), we will see a lot of what we saw on Sunday for the rest of the season. Nobody even has time to get into a rhythm, other than AM and JS. Thoughts?
  7. I agree with most of this, but not the part about them defending our perimeter. I've never seen so many missed wide open shots in a game. Shelley and White should have each had about 8 assists, with as many times as they found open shooters, outside and inside. Poor shooting and turnovers killed us, in my opinion. You can have one and survive, but not both in the same game.
  8. Some timely threes from Jazz! I have no idea why Darian White is not in the game right now though. Hake is a better shooter, but she’s not doing much tonight, and her ball handling and defense are weaker in my opinion. Pitts should be in as well, we have seen her score a lot of points in a small amount of time, and we know she can rebound, and that isn’t something Kendall Coley is known for. I continue to be confused by the substitutions.
  9. Turnovers. Smh.
  10. Didn't think of that. I like it though.
  11. I watched. She is fun. I was wondering that as well. Maybe KM?
  12. That’s pretty bad. I’m happy that we had some other players step up and get points in other ways, since that has been lacking in the other games where we were shooting poorly. So pleased with KM tonight.
  13. Well I just heard the announcer say she scored over 1700 points at Montana State and that’s with the shortened Covid year so obviously something is going in.
  14. The part that so confusing to me is I have watched Darian White play at Montana State before, and she was not this type of point guard at all. She was much more of a scoring point guard. She attacked and was much more aggressive on defense, resulting in more points off of turnovers. The way I see her playing at Nebraska is mind-boggling, and I can’t help but wonder if this is what they are telling her to do. If so, they really aren’t utilizing her strengths from what I can see. I know that they really want to use jazz and AM as the primary offensive threats, but since that really isn’t working I wonder why they don’t give her the green light to play her type of game a little bit and see how it goes.
  15. I'm not sure I agree that stating the obvious is "badmouthing" a player. Every player has strengths and weaknesses, and Krull is a very smart player who is usually in the right place at the right time, but she lacks the athleticism to make dynamic plays or create shots for herself. It's just a fact. Defensively, she is smart, but she tends to get beat by quicker, more athletic players. I feel the same way about Nissley, defensively, but she is a better than average 3 point shooter, so that gives her the advantage IMO.
  16. It doesn’t make any sense to me to have them in for defense if we aren’t going to get any offensive production from them. There are other players who are just as good, or better defenders, and who would probably be able to give us a little bit of offense as well. I could see if we were talking about a defensive specialist, but neither of those players are that. Who knows what the answer is, but what we are doing now definitely isn’t working.
  17. I agree with everyone. Not prepared, lazy defense and rebounding, too many unnecessary threes being launched, crazy subbing, horrible calls, inconsistency (that I partially blame on the revolving door subbing).
  18. Why do you think people dislike her? I think she adds a high IQ and does the "dirty work" too. I just think she lacks the speed and athleticism needed in this conference at times. Speed and athleticism that the two Kendall's DO possess, but unfortunately, they lack the IQ and consistency that MK brings. It's a shame. I like Nissley in the game for her offense, but she hurt us again on defense yesterday. Also had 4 turnovers. Her shot is just so quick and lethal when she's on though, I feel like she needs to get minutes like she got last night. The layups hurt us for sure, although I would argue with the comment earlier that they were all "wide open" layups, because a few of the times we got hammered with no call, 2 of White's for sure and also 1 or 2 of AM's that I recall. I really liked the intensity and the way we pushed the ball last night, and their PG, who is one of their top scorers, was held to single digits and had 5 or 6 turnovers. I thought our defense was solid, which is in contrast to what some others have said on here. They had some hot shooters, but we weren't necessarily "letting" them shoot.
  19. Yep. I could get caught up watching KC's antics on the bench during every game if I let myself. She's hilarious.
  20. I've noticed this too. I've tried to figure out the sub patterns for the last two years, but I'm baffled. I think you're right though, it's not really giving players much of an incentive to come out and be that shot in the arm that we need, because it doesn't seem to matter as far as staying on the floor, unless you're Jaz really, and there are times that I feel like she was left out there way too long.
  21. Very good point. Our team defense was suspect today for sure.
  22. I can’t argue with you wanting to have Nissley out there to score…but it doesn’t do much good if we are just trading baskets because she doesn’t get back on defense. But if that’s the best we can do, I’ll take it. I’d rather have her than Krull for that reason.
  23. I personally don’t think we are utilizing players’ strengths. Natalie is strong in the paint. Nissley definitely should be in more for offense, but it’s pretty bad watching her consistently get beat on defense. She isn’t fast enough to defend most guards, and she’s not big enough to guard 4s and 5s, and that is hurting us. Hake and Jaz cannot go left at all. They don’t even see the left side of the court when they are running the offense. White is not being used efficiently. They have her as a primary ball handler, because she can beat the press on her own, but what good is that if we never push once she gets the ball across half court? They want her to pass the ball and run to the corner. Hmmm. Not sure how that is effective, or how it’s any different from last year. Why go get a PG that is known to push in transition if you are just going to have her slow down and set up the same offense every time? These things are all confusing and frustrating to me. Having said that, I have seen this team play well together and have chemistry, so I’m hoping it’s just a process and we will get there.
  24. We have got to get more production from other players. Jaz is 0-4. White has only take 1 shot. Potts looks scared. AM looks like the only player who showed up ready to play. Disappointing.
  25. I have felt like there is still some ambiguity in the roles as well. It does seem like they are pushing White to be more of a distributor, wanting her to get paint touches and kick the ball out, but then Shelly often looks like she’s doing the same thing. They can’t both be the primary distributor. Sometimes I feel Jaz takes unnecessary shots, but then last night I was wondering when she was going to step up. I’m most comfortable with White handling the ball, but when Hake, Shelly and White were all in, I saw Hake wave off White and Shelly more than once and bring the ball up herself. I wonder why those roles haven’t been solidified yet.
