jason2486 Posted December 9, 2013 Report Posted December 9, 2013 First, tonight was a nightmare. I don't think I've seen a worse start, besides maybe the beat down Kansas gave us at home when they jumped us early about 5 years ago in Lincoln. And while I think coaches always deserve a chunk of the blame, I'm surprised at some of the negativity towards Coach Miles. Now if this becomes an annual issue after 5 or 6 years, that's different. We must remember that besides Shields and Gallegos (not including Parker and Rivers), everyone else who played was playing their first true road game together, and it happened to be against a big rival and a hostile crowd with little love lost between the two fan bases. And although Pettaway, Pitchford, and Smith have played D1 bball, they are all fresh off redshirts or juco seasons. Again, I'm as disappointed as anyone and hate the thought of seeing friends who are Jays fans that just got more ammo tonight. But I did see some positives tonight after the first 15 minutes. I still expect some great things from this team this season! Quote
nuled2dance Posted December 9, 2013 Report Posted December 9, 2013 No one should be negative towards coach miles. He has a young team and remember the juco transfers we have are to fill some holes while he recruits. Just think how bad we would be without walter, tp and Biggs. Got to give him time and it is one loss. I can promise you this from what I have heard and saw tonight from our staff we will be fine. I have sat down low and close to collier and doc and trust me we had a plan and some good calls. Unfortunately we didnt make shots and attack the rim. Better days ahead just sucks to lose to them Quote
PAhusker Posted December 9, 2013 Report Posted December 9, 2013 I don't think anyone is anywhere coming close to jumping off the ship by any means, but I think some can certainly understand why tonight was a punch a gut that dampened some good vibes we've had going since spring game 2012. As you said, I haven't seen anything like that since Doc's first year Big Monday against KU. I still remember seeing 43-8 crystal clear. Never thought I'd see that again. Damn near did tonight Quote
