atskooc Posted December 9, 2013 Report Posted December 9, 2013 I will chime in, don't mistake his persona with not being a team player. BJD had some personal things going on, but when he was here, he did try and he did want to win and he was a good teammate. Perhaps individuals have more direct contact than me, but I do not think it is fair to put a past player down without knowing all the facts. Just saying... When is it ever possible to know all the facts? You make my point, I do not know if anyone other than Diaz, perhaps his closest friends, his coaches and players know the facts first hand. So we can't ever put a past player down? Got it. There goes all the Standhardinger jokes. You can do what you want, I simply tried to provide a different view. I just know that he had a personal event that occurred back in PR plus he had a very painful injury. Sorry if I hit a button. You didn't hit a button, and you have nothing to apologize for...I just don't quite see your point that we can't criticize former players because we don't know their true stories (something we will never know about any of the players). I don't doubt that there were some things going on with JBD; I don't see that as a legitimate reason he can't be criticized for what he did (or didn't do) on the floor. Quote

I never ever said you (or others) can't criticize our players of former players. I simply said that "I" didn't think it is fair. Especially when the opinion was that BJD was not a good teammate.
