  1. Scoring (verrrrry unofficial) White 19 Webster 13 Shields 11 Morrow 6 Watson 4 Hammond 4 Parker 3 Jacobson 3 McVeigh 2 Fuller 1 Evelyn 0 3 pt FG: White 2, Jacobson 1, Webster 1 Game was getting pretty chippy/physical, but nice to see NU not back down - instead they turned up defensive pressure The guys who were on the floor for crunch time from about 5 min till last 30 seconds were telling: Shields, White, Webster, Morrow, Watson (Benny came in for Watson once NU was up by a couple of possessions at about 2 min mark)
  2. Watson with nice tear drop on one end then steal on other end!
  3. White & Shields score 7 in a row, 49-43 NU
  4. NU up 41-40 on Webster FT late 3rd Q
  5. Nice pass Morrow to Tai for FTs
  6. Nice dish Watson to Morrow for more FTs
  7. Tai ties it with a 3!
  8. Getting a little chippy
  9. Hammond nice offensive board
  10. 1st half Scoring (maybe) White 9 Watson 2 Shields 4 Webster 5 Jacobson 3 Parker 3 Jacobson has the only 3 pt FG, all of Shields pts have come from FT line I think we only have 1 bucket inside 5 feet, Parker's transition layup late. 9 FTs for our 26 pts and missed probably another 5-7 FTs.
  11. 32-26 at break - much better 2nd Q, still having trouble finishing at the rim vs Sunday, but drawing fouls
  12. We're starting to draw some fouls on drives - 32-18 late 2nd Q
  13. 27-12 after Webster 15-ft jumper
  14. Morrow with the big block (I think)
  15. Down 12-8, shooting better now
  16. 17. General thoughts & a couple nitpicks: Morrow - looked great, needs to rebound with 2 hands every time, but especially considering he's still working back into shape, really really good performance, wasn't as strong offensively in 2nd half, may have worn down a bit - cuts hard to the basket, moves well without the ball, catches it well in traffic Webster - Very aggressive driving to basket, I think he missed his only 3, but was more assertive on offensive end - I think he had the first 9 pts of the 2nd half to break the tie Shields - I think he was 1 of 2 from 3, if he can get his 3-pt stroke back, he'll have a big senior year, good hands on defense tonight McVeigh - Lots of good things, has a real feel for the offensive end - had the behind the back pass to Morrow for a score in 1st half, also hit a nice fade-away in-lane jumper in 1st half where he got into defender's chest to prevent him from blocking the shot - hit a corner 3 late White - Seemed to press early, but hit a couple threes in 2nd half, bounced back well, dove out of bounds to try to save a possession Hammond - Up and down, had a great block on one end & then scored on other end - has to make the decision to pass out of double team a little sooner Evelyn - Seemed tentative on offense early, but ran floor well as game went on, threaded needle on half-court pass to Webster I think for layup - had a couple nice defensive plays with good quickness Fuller - was 0-for from 3, needs to get that outside shot to fall, had some nice hustle plays Parker - really annoyed their point guard by the end of the game, drawing a late charge, typical Benny Jacobson - didn't look comfortable offensively, missed a couple of FTs, could've been nerves, could've been the face mask Watson - great passer in half court, ran perfect pick & roll with Morrow in 1st half - a little loose with it sometimes, had one poor post feed in 1st half, but Morrow bailed him out with a good catch & score - vs pressure needs to pass more than dribble - needs some on-ball work defensively too - but there's a lot of potential there, different kind of point guard than we've had in a while
  18. Unofficial scoring (doubtful if completely accurate - at least it does add up to 79) Morrow 17 Webster 15 Shields 12 McVeigh 10 White 10 Evelyn 4 Hammond 4 Fuller 3 Parker 2 Jacobson 2 Watson 0 (but several assists) 3s made: Shields 1, McVeigh 1, White 2
  19. Made that big run with Shavon & White sitting for most of it
  20. Fuller not scoring yet, but dove on the floor for a steal & took a charge in first half I think
  21. Some nice play by the freshmen - Morrow looked great, made a nice post up move, cut baseline well for pass from Shavon, was mixing it up a bit, showing some attitude, had a nice block McVeigh is fluid offensively, great behind the back pass to Morrow Watson can really move the ball on offense Jacobson hasn't played much, wearing the face mask Evelyn had a couple nice defensive plays Once they started pressing, we sped up way too much & let them back into it - good learning moment, because we look much better in 1/2 court game I think Spanish team has 2 2-pt field goals, one of which came on a fast break Doubtful if accurate, but 1st-half scoring: Morrow 13 Shields 6 Hammond 4 Webster 4 McVeigh 4 White 2 Parker 2 I had 35 for NU, just trying to track it. Not sure if its 35-34 or 35-35.
  22. Evelyn has made a couple nice defensive on-ball plays
