  1. I was thinking that Southeastern. Louisiana was a cupcake and would be a total pushover. I was wrong. They played much much more competitively than I thought they would.
  2. Absolutely no point in playing her today if she isn’t 100% healthy. If we need Prince in order to beat Southeastern Louisiana, it’s gonna be a long season.
  3. Is it a cream puff-laden non con schedule? Well, yeah. But given what a meat grinder of a WBB conference the B1G has become, I’m willing to excuse it.
  4. Sorry to hear that you were downvoted. Were you the one who posted the pic of that recruit in a Michigan uniform? I can’t find that post anymore so maybe it was taken down? Maybe they were downvoting her decommitment from NU and not downvoting you personally as a poster on this board? I’m sad that we lost that highly touted recruit, but I wouldn’t ever downvote the messenger of that news on this forum. Not naming any names, but in the past, I have been downvoted on this board a couple times by a certain poster when I posted an opinion where I was critical of Amy Williams as a basketball coach. Oh well…
  5. Where are the bigs, indeed. I’m still disappointed with how we did in the transfer portal this spring. We needed to bring in some talent in the post. Imagine how much this program will miss Markowski after this season. We have no hope of finding any one player who will be able to come in and do everything that Alexis brought to the table.
  6. Thanks redsteve. So the Gessert twins are considered the top in-state prospects? Darn. I know they already committed to Creighton. I was very surprised they wouldn’t want to come to NU to play with Britt Prince.
  7. Right. But she was class of 2024. I’m asking who is considered the top in-state girls basketball prospect for the class that will be seniors this fall, class of 2025.
  8. Forgive me if this was discussed in a different thread but I feel like I’m out of the loop - who is the consensus top in-state high school girls b-ball prospect for Nebraska, class of 2025? And has she committed to any school yet?
  9. Not to beat a dead horse, but regarding the relaying of news to the NU WBB fanbase….By comparison, the NU Volleyball fanbase would never tolerate being kept in the dark regarding program happenings the way that Coach Amy seems intent on keeping us in the dark. The VB staff does an infinitely better job at informing and engaging their fanbase than the WBB staff does.
  10. Amy has her good qualities as a coach, but open communication to the public, transparency with the fanbase, keeping the fans informed…that just ain’t one of them. And I guess I’ve learned to accept that in the last couple years. And it can be frustrating because when Amy does communicate, it’s often just cliched coachspeak that really isn’t informative at all.

I mean, can you just up and retire on a dime like that? With no notice, no warning?? That isn’t Big Ten protocol!
  12. So…at this point, is it safe to conclude that Rimdal from Florida is the only transfer that the coaching staff is bringing aboard? Sigh. I’m sure the staff pursued other players in the portal this spring, and for whatever reason, those players chose to sign someplace else. I get it, that happens. I’m just very nervous about how much more difficult this conference will become next season.
  13. Yep, they did and they were really good too. Still, I’m taking Alexis & Natalie.
  14. Granted, I have only been following Husker Women’s Basketball closely since around 2010, but I can’t imagine that the program has ever had a better 1-2 punch, a better side by side tandem in the post than what Markowski & Potts will be together next season. Wow! I’m excited to watch it. Alexis was the B1G Freshman of the Year and Natalie was FOY this past season. (Can’t believe she wasn’t unanimous FOY between coaches and media with all the Freshman Of The Week awards she racked up!) I ask the fans who have closely followed this program longer than I have - has NU ever had a better pair of post players in the starting lineup than what we’re gonna have next year? I highly doubt it.
  15. I haven’t heard anything. Like everyone on here, I’m hoping she can return and physically be the player she was 2 years ago before this horrible luck befell her. At least she doesn’t have a 3rd knee that could blow out next season!
  16. And darn it because I was hoping we’d bring in a solid post player. I wonder if Lindsay Krause would have any interest in coming over to the WBB team in mid December after VB season is over. Do you think she misses playing basketball? She was a force on the b-ball court for Skutt in her high school days. I mean, she’s 6’4”, she’s athletic, and she’s a great leaper. I think she could contribute in the post. No, I’m not saying she would come in and average 20 pts and 10 rebs a game after being away from competitive basketball for 4-5 years. But her size and her athleticism would be a problem for opposing teams.
  17. I hope we are too. Kinda worries me when I think about how brutal this conference is going to be starting next year. Just an absolute meat grinder of a conference. We need athletes.
  18. Makes me sad that Oregon St. & Washington St. just flat got left out in the cold during the mass exodus from the PAC 12 I don’t recognize this college sports world we’re living in anymore
  19. I think Cook deserves more money than Amy not only because of greater success on the court but also the fact that NU Volleyball is a revenue-generating sport and NU WBB is not.
  20. I agree that the arrival of the 2 California schools next year makes Amy’s job more challenging. 1 year and 9 months after the news was announced, and I still can’t wrap my brain around the fact that Nebraska will be in the same athletic conference as USC and UCLA. WHAT?!?! Crazy world that we’ve been thrust into.
  21. That disappoints me. Still, better Creighton than Iowa.
  22. HUD, I could have sworn that when Jaz had her first triple double in Nov 2021, they made a big deal out of saying that one was the first in program history. My apologies if I was mistaken.
  23. Ope, I guess they put her back in for a couple more minutes. She finishes with 29, 15 and 6
  24. Ope, looks like she’ll miss the triple double by 4 rebounds. 27, 14 and 6. Pathetic stat line.
  25. Clark on pace to record another triple double today. She has had 17 triple doubles in her career. How big of a deal is a triple double? In November of 2021 when Jaz Shelley had a triple double against North Carolina Central, that was the first triple double In Nebraska WBB program history. In. Program. History.
