Players to watch: Charles Matthews The 6'6" Kentucky transfer is the athletic guard Michigan didn't have last year. He's at his best when slashing to rim but is a below average jump shooter if you can keep him out of the paint Players to watch: Jordan Poole The freshman wildcard has been playing spot minutes for John Beilein as he becomes more accustomed to playing with discipline. When he is in the game though he's going to be shooting often and they have been going in at a 61.6 eFG% Give Away: Cinch Bags Clear cinch bags will be given away to the first 1,000 fans. Half Time: Olate Dogs DOGS DOING CRAZY SHIT ALL OVER THE COURT Michigan Scout Thread The Skinny Death, Taxes, and Bo Ryan John Beilein is the new standard of consistency in the B1G as Michigan is back in the ratings after thumping Michigan St on the road and outlasting Maryland at home to rise to 16-4. The Wolverines reloaded with Charles Matthews, Isaiah Livers and Jordan Poole to compliment 6'11" matchup nightmare Moe Wagner. You know exactly what Michigan is going to do most nights: offensively they'll run a 5 out offense that often features a two man game between Wagner and Matthews. Defensively they play mostly man, run you off the 3pt line, are great at sealing off to prevent offensive rebounds, and tend to guard without fouling. Is Jordy back tonight? It probably doesn't matter because I'd expect very little minutes from any of the centers while Wagner is in the game (You can probably steal some minutes when Freshman Jon Teske subs in). Michigan has been a very tough matchup for Nebraska's pack line defense in the past but this year's squad that put the kibosh on Creighton and Kansas from long range should be up to the task and will give up some easy twos in the process. Don't fret; this is part of the game plan. Nebraska can't expect to shutdown Michigan but it doesn't have to; they just need to hold keep Michigan to a pedestrian per possession number. How does Nebraska beat Michigan? Run it down their throats. That beat down in Lincoln last year? Forget it, that team was DOA. You saw the blueprint last year with Tai Webster and company as a Nebraska team who only attempted 5 FTs managed to score 80+ points. You essentially have the same personal from that game but have replaced Webster with Palmer and Jacobson with Copeland. Is Nebraska up to the task? They have been in big games and this is a big one.
