  1. Leise said we are 2 for our last 30 with RISP. Hopefully, Mason has something left in the tank. I have 0 faith in our bullpen. Tied at 1 at the 7th inning stretch.
  2. Can someone explain why we shift with 2 strikes? Most hitters aren't going to pull a 2 strike pitch. I'm not sure how many hits we saved by doing that. I know for sure we have 2 hits due to shifting with 2 strikes.
  3. Mason gets out of 2nd and 3rd 1 out jam in the top of the 6th. Stone ties the game with a home run in the bottom half.
  4. Pitching stats ERA 2024 4.51 2023 4.64 BB/9 2024 2.93 2023 3.48 SO/9 2024 8.67 2023 8.53 Not as much of a difference as I would have guessed with Childress taking over.
  5. 1 - 0 Indiana after 5. Mason has retired 14 straight.
  6. The bats are ice cold tonight. We better figure this out quickly.
  7. I hate to say this, and I know Rome wasn't built in a day. Childress and Christy have posted nearly identical results. The only difference is our Friday and Saturday starters have been more consistent.
  8. Very disappointing effort, again. We are up 6 - 2, and act like we have the game in the bag.
  9. This should be a final in the coffin for hosting. This team looks like they don't want to be playing again tonight. The bullpen allows 8 runs in 3 inning. Carey boots a ball. This coaching staff does not help with their decisions.
  10. This is a complete and utter meltdown. Everyone is to blame. The bullpen, batters, fielding.
  11. Now, we leave Diass in when he is obviously laboring.
  12. Why is the coaching staff stubborn towards match-ups. No feel for the game. Perry has 2 strikeouts. We take him out because a righty is coming up.
  13. Why do we have lackluster efforts at times? We did not want to be playing today. Need better efforts down the stretch.
  14. Maybe Minnesota will have a brain fart and take this pitcher out.
  15. The only way we were winning today is if Walsh pitched a shutout. Our bats are awful.
  16. Seriously, it is beyond the time to start enforcing the rule of leaning into pitches. The Minnesota batter is on top of the plate and stuck his leg out to get hit by a Christo breaking ball. I guess one way to do it is to start throwing 93 right at his leg. I bet he would get out of the way then.
  17. It was a couple of strike 3's, called balls for them and strikes for us. And Wortley's pick off where they thought they got the runner at 2nd, and he was called safe.
  18. I'm not watching the game. Are the umps as clueless as the radio guys are making them out to be?
  19. If we're going to make this a game, we better start scoring some runs.
  20. One team plays like it's the World Series. The other team it's just another game.
  21. That's how good Iowa's pitching is, if they throw strikes.
  22. This delay isn't what we needed. Mason had been pitching well.
  23. They might not consider him their best pitcher. Obermueller is probably slightly more effective than him. Morgan was 2nd team All Big 10 last year. Probably thinking he will right the ship. Iowa has no starter that will get you deep into games. All 3 starters average less than 5 innings. Most likely the reason their bullpen stinks this year.
