Was Romel hurt this year? I never did hear?
-
So you’re assuming we’re done with guard recruiting? Wow!
-
This is plain stupid on our part.
-
I think the decision was made a long time ago. He wasn’t going to the NBA. He wasn’t transferring to another school. Overseas or sit out drawing a check at UNL. What would you do?
-
By the way, I’m not a fan of him eating up a scholarship this year. No guarantee he’ll ever be 100% again. This also explains how we approached our big men recruiting. We’re kind of screwed
-
I was thinking this would be the reason he wouldn’t play for the Huskers this year.
-
Good article on Rollie. https://www.deseret.com/2023/2/8/23583650/utah-runnin-utes-basketball-rollie-worster-proving-doubters-wrong/

Good Josiah replacement.
-
Rollie has deceptive athleticism. Slides his feet really well. Great article in the Deseret News on how people counted him out. He will be team leader on day1. Ulis is an average athlete with a good body for a point guard. Solid player for Iowa. Both have suspect perimeter games and lack the elite athleticism to guard great players.

Guard from A&M who Keisei was trying to guard.
-
I think we still need an athletic stretch 4. Neither Meah or Morgan can play the 4. Morgan can shoot the 3 but doesn’t have a large sample size. Meah can’t shoot outside 2 feet. Both would be a liability guarding the opponent’s stretch 4. That’s why Josiah was so important. He could guard the 4 and run the court. Plus, we need an athletic 2 guard who can defend. Someone who can match up with players like Shannon or Obaseki. What we signed so far won’t cut it no matter how you guys spin it.

247 Sports list him at 7’0” in their prospect info. Though on the same page they list him at 6’11” under Athletic Background. I guess we can both be right.
-
Did he dunk at all? I don’t remember any rim rocking going on with him.
-
Jorge Diaz was the last dominant 7 footer we’ve had. He would run circles around this Meah guy.
-
We were just not a very athletic group, but we were the best TEAM this century in Husker land.
-
Thanks! I knew it was wrong, but too lazy to look it up.

You make a good point. Williams, Mast, and Alicks were under the radar transfers. I wasn’t overly excited about them, but more than this group so far. Fred hit it out of the park with the results of that group. I overlook the right fit narrative sometimes. I probably should put more trust in our staff. They’ve found the formula that works and they’re sticking with it. It can’t be overstated how important player leadership is to the success of the program. The last two years we have rocked with that. Griesel and Walker in 23 and Mast and Alicks in 24. That’s why I hope Mast returns., Worster and Mast in 25.

I think my biggest concern with recruiting/transfers so far is that most of the discussion on this board is about the people we’ve added as providing good depth. I was hoping for difference makers. For the record, in no way do I feel the Huskers or Fred are failing. The last two years the program has put a product on the floor that is fun to root for. My disappointment in our recruiting/transfers doesn’t change my support for the team.

Key date: 2022 Has absolutely no offensive game. Dunk you very much!
-
Robin Washut has Tennessee has the favorite. I never question Robin.
-
Yikes!
-
No, Tennessee bound.
-
From one old, fat guy to another, not many on this very board would be happy with a Morgan/Meah as our starting 4/5.
-
Maybe one would have been nice. By the way, Mast, Williams,, Alicks, Coleman, Griesel, Gary, and Bandoumel were not big time transfers. I understand Fred’s plan to get guys that fit our culture, but it would be nice to get top transfer once in a blue moon.

Initially, I was using that same rationale , but that only goes so far. Rollie replacing Lloyd who never played a game doesn’t get me that excited.
