Roy Marble has died

He was a great player and person. Sad news to hear of the passing of Roy, gone from the earth too soon.

 

 

Both the Marble father and son played for the Iowa Hawkeyes. Roy's son is Roy Devyn Marble.

Damn, probably among the Hawkeyes' all-time best. Great guy. I remember some basketball mags like S&S touted him as the next Jordan back when he started at Iowa. Obviously, he didn't live up to that type of hype but he was a great college player in his own right. Those mid to late 80s Hawkeye teams with BJ Armstrong, Brad Lohaus et al., were very, very good.
