  1. The question for Mitchell may be how fast she can adapt. Adapt to school, college ball (all phases), etc etc. May be a little different here, for her, since she's not had considerable club play experience. The pace of club play even in H.S. is so much faster than in smaller HS school play. College a step or three even more so. Will have to quicken release a bit as about everyone does when getting to college game. On the other end of that is after half a season she's going full bore......we'll see. Who knows if she can handle the pace. Won't know until she's here and competing in practice. She's used to shooting over much smaller girls, so there will be some adjusting time...of course. Would be great if she can come out early drilling baskets. We need another outside shooter desperately. Not so much needing another guard/wing (with all the guards coming in next year, plus Nat, Maddie, etc etc)...but as a pure shooter. She appears to have lots of offensive skills, good hands, movement with ball, etc. besides the long 3. Might be the type that by the time she's a sophomore...she could really blossom....or earlier ?? Does seem to be somewhat similar to Hoops in size and skills. The video was encouraging.....as are videos of all the new prospects.
  2. Another article on Hannah...reached 2,000 pts. The more I see and read about her, the more impressive she seems to be. http://host.madison.com/wsj/sports/high-school/basketball/girls/wiaa-girls-basketball-hannah-whitish-breaks--point-barrier-as/article_02d19781-395d-52e0-8751-bdd03cf9b6c4.html
  3. Ohio State Indiana Iowa Rutgers Purdue Nebraska 135 pts Maryland
  4. it's a Midwestern thing with putting r's where they don't belong. Kinda like wrash and no t wash. Or Chicago instead of Chicago. Down south in southern Kansas....Okla..... wash clothes ..... "warsh" clothes yeah I misspelled warsh, but you caught for me. I used to live down there many years ago, but still have the "r" in some words...so my kids tell me.

  6. She's 6-2 to start with and has a very high finger tip release, and another 12" or so of jump at the high point...so she'll be able to shoot over most B1G guards. Doesn't shoot pushing the ball from the shoulder area which is easier to block. Probably lets go of the ball at about 8' to 8'-6" elevation point roughly. Well, suited for the wing along the arc...all the way down by end line of the court. But in the video she drove to the basket real well too.
  7. Grace Mitchell video. #15 She may be the sleeper of the 2016 class. Has real good size and moves pretty well. Wow, can she shoot. Effortless shot.
  8. Looks pretty athletic from the short video
  9. Found video for MiCole Cayton Has interview about half way through the video. Notice her shooting with both hands ? (she's a righty, but can shoot near the basket with her left hand.
  10. Anyone seen any of Micole Crayton's game video?
  11. Just missed too many shots...Indiana hit the threes. We actually had a chance to come back, a couple of times, but it was not to be. Some turnovers, bad passes, and a couple of bad calls we couldn't afford at inopportune times.. Had some good stuff thrown in, ...good defense and offense at times...several nice inside hand off to scores. Not consistent enough to close it out when we had opportunities. But they did look better than the Purdue game. Lots of floor time for most of the bench.
  12. We were kind of in shock against Purdue. But now it's time to move on. All we can do is move forward. The team's had a few days to adjust to the new deal....so lets get going. I see them coming together.....even if it will be tough going getting new assignments, etc. Looking forward to the Indiana game, no matter the outcome.
  13. redsteve the NCAA only allows one overseas trip per team every four years. So when next year's freshmen are seniors the team will be able to take another summer trip. Although not ruling it out, they could still schedule holiday tourney in the Caribbean's next November. It would be ideal to get the newbies broken so to speak, as well as the rest of the "new" team develop some chemistry. Sign them up Connie !
  14. Said it before but really like this group coming in next year. We need the 1's, 2's, and 3's big time. Hope we can get some early floor time and experience. Anyone know......are there any preseason excursions planned next summer? Probably not....or maybe an early preseason tournament ?
  15. Didn't Jess do that too, or am I imagining it ?

  17. I have made changes after my first post a couple of times, but it's always the day before any of the games have started. Don't know if that's what your talking about, but it has always been before games start. In my case it doesn't matter anyway...I could never get rich at Vegas Does this mean I don't win the trip to Vegas ?
  18. Yep, the clip works. What's with walking through our huddle ??? ...what a clown And glad to see Burns can go at it hard now. We need all the determination we can get a hold of for the remainder of the season. Yes, noticed some of the snarky stuff going on with Purdue. I do remember that time Burns almost took a tumble. Didn't have a chance to really see what happened, but knew something must have happened beforehand.
  19. Connie obviously believed the two would be able to handle the season, but unfortunately it hasn't worked out. We just didn't have a clone of RT. Cincore did play the point one game, didn't she? We don't have another point guard ready, so like it or not, it's time to adjust. Didn't realize Kyndal's knees were in that bad. She needs months off, and rehab time. You've got to think she really hates to call it quits. Tough deal. Same for RT...hope she can get back this year, but only if it won't mean some permanent damage. I would guess it will Cincore at point here on out. She's had the most experience. She will do things different than RT, so the whole team will just have to adjust....and will have a few days to work on it. Nat is too valuable a scorer, to work the point. They were all caught off guard without much notice, and had no chance to get used to the idea of both RT & KC gone. The bench will have to step up, and everyone will probably get a lot more floor time. Which will help them for next year. Speaking of next year we have at least two PG's that look to be great candidates...and they will have to learn quickly. So, we have what we have. I's just been kind of a crazy year...most are though... I suppose. Pretty sure the team has the capability to regather their chemistry, and move forward for the balance of the year.
  20. Tonight we saw the importance of RT & KC, and how they stabilize the teams play. That's pretty much why at least one of them, in the past, was in the game almost always. Next year we'll see the same team less Anya...plus any newbies.
  21. Northwestern Iowa Michigan State Nebraska Ohio State Maryland Purdue
  22. Taylor Kissinger, Minden, Ne has narrowed her list to five with NU still on the list. The No. 56 ranked player in the 2016 ELITE 100 will decide from Creighton, Iowa, Iowa State, Nebraska and Oklahoma State. Will chose by June, with another cut to 3 before the June pick. http://prospectsnation.com/story/kissinger-cuts-list-five
  23. Yes, Jess may have a big chance to do some real damage to Purdue. It will work if we can get the people in the back court to score, and keep Purdue honest defensively. Which also means shutting down their scorers...which several teams have been able to do lately. Purdue seems to be one of the B1G teams to not have improved much...as the season has gone on. Looks like it's in our favor.....playing at home and mostly back to full strength.
  24. Just guessing....I kind of got the impression we were going through the motions again OSU...at least in the 2nd half..... "get this over with and move on" ....sort of look on their faces. I too expect a good game against Purdue. We'll be home and we obviously play better and more focused, with the home crowd cheering us on. Not sure why, but Purdue been in a slide the last few weeks, isn't scoring many points, so if we can put up decent numbers, and show some defense...we'll be in it. And we're a better team than when we last played them. Less turnovers. Pretty much over the debilitating injuries... except maybe RT..... at least all can play now anyway. We'll be pretty much full strength inside and lets "Burn" the Boilermakers. ......and hit shoots for better percentages at the perimeter. A little run of wins would be good for this team's morale. Would love to see Nat and RT get untracked. Jess will probably feast on their defense. Agree with whoope....won't be surprised to see a 10-15 point win.
  25. The US as a whole just doesn't have enough numbers, and skills education, club teams, etc etc... in women's (kids) basketball. The YMCA used to start girls at 5 years old.....playing with boys. Not sure when they break off to all girls teams. 6 or 7 yrs ? with just "fun" teams...school friends, etc. The club ball used to begin for girls about 6th grade. These days the little ones that want to play later....need to start at least by 5th - 6th th grade. Boys start before ...about 4th grade in club play. On the other hand...any more.... girls (or boys) that haven't played much sports by the 7th grade...will be just is too far behind to play competitively..even on "fun" teams.
