  1. Why do we even acknowledge them? I hate the fan base but the more we talk about them, the more they see it as us being jealous about their recent success, even if it's not the case.
  2. You can tweet from a computer, right? Also, Hawkins is probably making a statement about his lack of playing time. I took it more as his friend can't come anymore. I don't think he'd tweet it about himself with The "Us Always" mentality on the team. And Walt also tweeted, I'm sure it was from a computer.
  3. My school tomorrow (in lincoln) is having a spirit day for the big game. But when the teacher said over the mic that we could wear Red for the Huskers or blue for Creighton in stead of our regular uniforms I stood up and boo-ed. I was sick to my stomach, we live in Lincoln, not Omaha. Just because some whiny girl had to complain I'm sure.......
  4. Sounds like a job for...SUPER Benny! I think Benny will be a key part to the way this game ends up. Heslip is slowwww and does not play good defense at all. In fact, if we force Baylor to go man because of hot 3 point shooting, it is hard for them to keep Brady in the game. And their 1-3-1 defense is more of a 1-1-3 which turns into a form of a 2-3. Basically daring us to make the 3.
  5. Even if we do get put in the play-in game, the only potential problem with it I see is playing Dayton. If we avoid them, then there are a number of reasons why it could be a good thing for OUR team. 1) With all the hype and known history that this team faces, the less time to think about this game, the better. We just gotta go out and play the way we are capable of, and if we do that I like our chances against any other play-in team. 2) Starting out the tournament against an opponent of equal or even lesser ability could help this team get the jitters out of their system. They will be nervous, no doubt. But beating a solid team in the first round could give this team a lot of confidence heading forward. 3) When we do win the play-in game, we will be warmed up and ready to go for the round of 64, while the team we're playing might still be feeling a little jittery just as we did against Ohio St. at the very beginning. 4) When we get to the round of 64, it will mean that we already have an NCAA tournament win under our belt. No more pressure, JUST GO PLAY. This team knows how to have fun, and when they play loose yet disciplined, I feel like they can make an extremely impressive run. Now I'm not hoping to be one of the "Last 4 teams in", but regardless of where we end up, this team had one goal at the beginning of the season, "Not only to get to the NCAA Tournament, but win once we get there." LETS GET IT BOYS, its gonna be a blast.
  6. Jerry Palm still has us as a 10 seed. And playing Memphis. I'll take it Edit: Sorry didn't see this above!
  7. Did anybody else notice when the ref called Shields for that travel, after he blew his whistle he waited about two seconds and then reluctantly signaled the travel. It was almost as if he was thinking "Ah shit, I blew my whistle but I know that I just missed a call down on the other end." Not nearly as definitive as some refs we've seen.
  8. Alright if someone actually has the balls to talk themselves up like this and submit a letter to the editor, they just don't get it. Tim I don't know if you know this, but when Wisconsin deliberately threw the ball right out of bounds multiple times, I screamed my ass off along with 16,000 other fans because they screwed up. That doesn't speak very well of our fan base, does it? Heck we could make these kids cry at night! If you think the Husker Power chant is rude and needs to be discontinued, then what about the "Who cares, you suck" chant that has been used for the past decade? Oh that's right, you've probably never been to a Nebrasketball game before because you're probably a Skerjay from Omaha (see what I did there? Time to stop putting them first
  9. I'd really like to see a few of these teams (Colorado, Stanford, Pitt. etc) lose early in their conference tournies to help move our way up to the 10 seed. That way we get a 75% chance of being in Milwaukee or St. Louis, which would be a lot easier for some of us to make it. It'd be a dream come true to see us in the Dance in person
  10. Does anyone know if we have any notable recruit visiting today?
  11. Good points, I was thinking just put it in the newspaper but I forgot some people don't get it and just don't read it anymore! And I love the sign Fever, hopefully we'll see it on the big screen if nothing else!
  12. Playing Wisconsin, they'll be wearing the road Red uni's. What do you all think of flooding the Vault in white to show our support for our Huskers?
  13. I really wish this game would've been able to be televised on CBS. What more could you ask for? The second and fourth place teams in the Big Ten, hashin it out for a 1 seed and a spot in the tourney. Plus one of the greater venues for a college basketball game. Would've been a fun one to watch
  14. We are officially now Joe Lunardi's last team in. WITH ONE GAME TO PLAY? WE ARE SO CLOSE....
  15. This week may just be one of the biggest weeks in Nebrasketball's history. There's only one way to prepare for the roller coaster we're all about to experience over the next 7 days. GET PUMPED....... (and goosebumps)
  16. No argument there. I'm just saying I commend the kid for sticking with the program after being given the opportunity to transfer. He's filled a vital role for us
  17. Shavon played great, but we gotta give it up for Benny. For the kid to stick with this program and compete the way he is speaks volumes. Without his effort today, I'm not so sure we sneak out with a win.
  18. Don't know where to post this but I'll post it here... Am I the only one who's getting sick of the politics of ESPN and their whole basketball analysis? They have a tremendous power to promote the bubble teams that they want to see in the tournament because of history, famous past coaches, etc. I guess what set me over the top is seeing that they're hosting Gameday at Oklahoma State.... Did they not just have a 7 game losing streak like A WEEK AGO?
  19. Wow that hurt. If there is any possible somewhat good outcome that comes out of this, I feel like this is the type of game that keeps Terran around next year no matter what. Some might be afraid of him going, but he's got to improve on a few things in my opinion before he's ready. And I think he knows that.
  20. Had a lot of time on my hands tonight, so I decided to calculate the average RPI of the opponents that some of our fellow bubble teams lost to, according to live-rpi.com. Now I realize this means virtually nothing, and a lot of it will change before the end of the season, but it is kind of interesting to see and some of these teams might surprise you, so I thought I'd share. Providence - 48.38 St John's - 49.37 Nebraska - 50.2 Minnesota - 51.19 Tennessee - 58.22 Xavier - 65.34 Kansas State 65.53 Dayton - 68.19 Georgetown - A whopping 72 Mizzou - 73.94
  21. Getting more and more excited about this Georgia win as we speak
  22. If this is being said about BYU I feel like the description fits us as well. I feel like the selection committee really looks at the last 10 game results more closely than some may think.
  23. From 3 to 13 brackets in two days on Bracketmatrix. Hopefully we can see that number in the 20s after our win today against Purdue!
  24. Can someone please explain to me how Oklahoma St is a "lock" in most brackets. They're in something like 71 brackets as opposed to our 7. Compare this..... *Team A Team B RPI: 47 48 SOS: 20 19 W/L vs Top 50: 3-9 3-7 W/L last 10 gms: 2-8 7-3 *NOTE: Team A needs to be in the Tourney because they have 3 likely NBA prospects and Team B only has 1
