  1. Isn't that his call though? Why would he leave when he could just tell Bill no?
  2. In Order: 1. Coach K 2. Jay Wright 3. Bill Self 4. Mark Few 5. Tom Izzo 6. Tony Bennett 7. Roy Williams 8. John Beilein 9. Fred Hoiberg 10. Chris Beard Fred doesn't have the credentials some do because he's been in college for just 5 years. You put him at a blue blood for 10 years, he makes 2 Final 4's minimum. I don't think people understand what kind of coach he is. He knows X's and O's. His ability to find, develop, and put his players in the best position to succeed is one of the best in the country. He just doesn't have the years of data that everyone else does.
  3. And be ready for the tears from Ames..
  4. I’m telling you, some people are going to have to get ready to be able to handle success. Mediocrity has given them a false sense of what the word success means and what’s actually possible when you strive for something more than just being ok with being average.
  5. Yeah, Fred’s coming to Lincoln to be our next men’s basketball coach
  6. 2 big twelve tournament titles. Bringing Iowa state back from the basement. Not sure why you included NBA When we’re talking college. I’d say Saban is a top 10 college football coach. You don’t hear people argue that with “No way, he sucked in the NFL.”
  7. You’re going to have to point out the time when we hired a top 10 basketball coach. I’ll wait
  8. I’m guessing if we’re paying top 10 money for our basketball coach he will get to do what he likes within department policy. It’s hilarious people are blaming the collapse of the season on Riggins. You guys are comical. Must be listening to too much Miles commentary.
  9. Terrible take. None of that is doing something for the first time like Moos will accomplish. You’re going to have to change your expectations from celebrating the NIT to being pissed when you’re in it. That’s what real programs with real coaches do.
  10. All I have to say is I hope Nebraska fans understand what they’re getting in Hoiberg. A top 10 college coach. We better appreciate him while we have him
  11. And Moos is going to accomplish something that has never been done at Nebraska, hire a real basketball coach. I’m missing your point here.
  12. He’s done a lot more in his job in 1.5 years than Miles did in his in 7.
  13. You can criticize him all you want. But don’t act like he’s done nothing. in addition to two coaching hires I’m sure he will lock up fundraising for improvements to Memorial Stadium. You know, doing his job. As a donor, I couldn’t be happier with what Moos is doing and his expectations for the program. I have skin in the game and if I disagreed with how he’s performing I would say it.
  14. I suppose everyone who is so in love with Miles can go be a fan of wherever he goes next. Nothing wrong with that but your loyalty to mediocrity is fascinating. Me, I’ll be celebrating history with Fred and the boys.
  15. So the guy gets not credit for doing his job. I’m sure there are more than a few people who could have screwed it up. Heck, he was good enough or smart enough to get the right people to trust him. He’s going to have hired maybe the best Football/basketball combo in the country. I’ll be the first to give him credit for that.
  16. Agree. Maybe Moos was paying attention and could tell that nothing had really changed and it was going to be same old same old. Some might say he was paying close attention, you know, doing his job. But there are some on here that like to paint the picture he has no clue what he’s doing and isn’t paying attention. Maybe Bill is just that much smarter than those on here with rose colored glasses. Weird, maybe that’s why he gets paid $1 million a year.
  17. Looks like Sipple is trying to set the stage.
  18. I wouldn't say he would never go back to ISU but there is truth the what you said about the way things went down when he left. I don't think those things are beyond repair, time heals a lot. Just like time healed Fred's feelings on recruiting. I do have some pretty good info though that says Prohm is locked into ISU, even with the Avery Johnson news. Alabama has been poking around, and I have been assured Prohm wants to stay put. But, just like the pull Scott Frost felt, I don't want to go down the road of having to find all this out with an open Iowa State job. I also have info that if Prohm ever left they may want TJ as he has a great relationship with Pollard. As with anything, these coaching situations are about as fluid as they come.
  19. Key words are semantics and formality
  20. I would agree with that to some extent, but maybe not to the point he would never work with him again.
  21. It is, unless something with the landscape changes. Chris Beard was the coach at UNLV for 4 days. We could have a press conference introducing a new coach, but if prohm were to leave it might not matter
  22. Better hope like crazy Steve Prohm stays put
  23. Yes this seems like the only scenario that would throw a big curveball into the situation. However, I have heard Prohm will stay in Ames regardless
