  1. I have no idea who the transfer is. Source was 2nd hand but should be reasonably reliable but also could be subject to misunderstandings. If it is Mangok, would be massive!
  2. Do you know which type? Transfer and sit guy like the Miami guard or immediately eligible grad transfer or JUCO? Sorry, I was not told a name or eligibility status for next year. It was 2nd hand but should be fairly reliable. Wish I could share more, just don't have it to share.
  3. Heard we'll be announcing a transfer by the end of this month.
  4. I'll repeat again that I have been told by people within the program they think he'll be a starter next season.
  5. Seems a lot more mental. He shot all of 2 three pointers and shot 55% from the FT line. Not to be cruel but Nick won't get much better IMO. And without an outside shot he is relegated to hustle duty in the lane. He can play a few minutes but doubt he contributes anything but mop up duty with Roby & Horne coming in.
  6. Guess I read into Huskerinkentucky's hint that Jordy T's best friend on Twitter was the transfer target. Must have been wrong about that. I assumed that Link was that best friend on Twitter. No, I don't think you're necessarily wrong. I'm just not that into Link on Big Red. But, if he gets us Jordy, then sure, let's do it! GBR Got it. I'm with you. Would love Jordy and the center from Louisville!

  8. I looked up Link Kabadyundi at Blinn Junior College. He played the first 17 games then went off the radar. Must have been injured or something else. In those first 17 games he averaged 9 ppg, 11 rpg and almost 4 blocks for a team that was 22-9 overall. Not bad.
  9. In the next 8 months we need to find another reliable 3 point shooter, preferably a guard.
  10. We tend to slot out rosters more based on defense than offense so who can Morrow or Jacobson guard seems more important for determining where they play than their offensive skills. I don't think either of them is an offensive focal point next year either. Yes, you are correct hhc and defense is where I believe MJ becomes a liability. But you have to have some court skills on offense to play the 4. Unless you center is a stretch player your 4 has to have some ball handling skills to avoid a multitude of turnovers. this is where I see EM's weakness.
  11. I was told by someone within the program recently that Gill is a scoring machine and had over 30 points in a 10 minute scrimmage a month or so ago. I was also told that Roby would start day one....great combination of height, ball handling, scoring and passing skills. I have trouble believing that either Morrow or Jacobson will play the 4, at least next year. Jacobson neither has the ball handling nor foot speed to play against B1G 4s. Morrow is athletic enough but needs to improve ball handling dramatically. I guess MJ can become more athletic and EM can improve his ball handling skills but just not confident that will happen. I see the rotation looking more like this, given our current set of players: PG Watson/Webster Wings White/Gill/Roby/McVeigh/Webster Center Jacobson/Hammond/Morrow Horne is a bit of a mystery to me. Not sure we see any of Evelyn or Fuller unless there is an injury.
  12. Do you believe that Ed Morrow has the ball handling skills for the 4? And does MJ have enough quickness to defend a B1G 4? I like the idea but I'm not sure either will be ready for the four next year. Either way we need a physical post presence to add to the mix.
  13. I wouldn't argue with you. What I was told could be hyperbole. I'm a lot more confident about the info on Gil.
  14. Heard a few things recently from deep within the bowels of the program that may add to this discussion. Truth or hyperbole, these sources should know but were they exaggerating? 1. Anton Gil is a prolific scorer with a scorer's mentality. He shoots the three at a high % but also is quick and athletic enough to score off the dribble. In a recent scrimmage he scored over 30 points against the starters in less than 20 minutes and has done this before. He is improving in defense through his play on the scout team. Should be a starter from day 1 next season. 2. Michael Jacobson should not be through growing as he does not have hair on his legs. His Father is 6'10" so MJ may grow another couple inches. 3. Isaiah Roby should start next season, he is that good. Given these comments are not hyperbole, here is how things could look next year. PG Watson, Webster SG Gil, Webster SF Roby, White PF White, McVeigh/Horne C Jacobson, Morrow, Hammon
  15. I think the one I heard most after Christmas break was "we never replaced Craig Smith". Well, coach Smith was a very nice coach in his own right, but I think we can lay that theory to rest now that we have a 4 game winning streak. And I am one who questioned whether our woes last year and slow start this year were signs that Craig Smith was a missing ingrediant. Quite simply, I was wrong.
  16. My understanding it that all we need to get into the NIT is a winning record.
  17. You like it Jimmy? From one of my favorite guilty pleasures, a movie by the title "The Girl Next Door".
  18. I've been as concerned as anyone by Tai's lack of production since he arrived in Lincoln. But he's a great kid who has worked hard, plays great defense and now his offensive game is really coming around. I love how his penetration/inside game has developed through the course of this season and his 3 ball is beginning to drop. Here's a big shout out to Tai Webster!
  19. Unfortunately I'm losing faith that Miles can game plan & coach. I know he can recruit but can he do much with what he brings in? I know we're young, but between this year so far, and last year, I am losing faith. I'm beginning to think that Miles hasn't covered the loss of Craig Smith with an assistant that compliments his strengths. Sorry to be a downer but the demise of the Huskers men's teams has been difficult to watch. Thank goodness for the women's sports.
  20. I didn't mean to just bash Nick. I do love his gritty, do whatever it takes play.
  21. I'm content that Nick Fuller is a Husker. A team is made up of all types of personalities and roles. Not every player on the roster is going to be the 'go-to' guy on the squad. Fuller appears to enjoy being a part of the team in Lincoln, NE, and he's a great role player & practice performer from all accounts. Nothing wrong with that. On one hand, Miles had "the talk" with Benny and BP responded by contributing to our run to the NCAA tournament and becoming a valuable member of the rotation. On the other hand, if Fuller isn't going to play meaningful minutes ever we've locked up a schollie we could use on a JUCO big, another transfer, or something like that. Us playing zone this year will definitely help him to get on the floor and hide his slowness. Him actually shooting when he's out there certainly would help as well....after two years I can only speculate how good a guy with 8 3pt attempts is. There's still an open schollie. Why does Nick have to 'open' up his? He's a valuable member of the team, and he's clearly getting better as Nick was Lifter of the Year on the squad not long ago. It's too bad that he hasn't found a more defined role in which he could have contributed in a more meaningful way, but that's up to the coaches to put him in a position to contribute with his deficiency and all. Maybe NU should use that LAST schollie before we go with the notion that Nick's should be 'open' for some unknown *2nd* player. Just a thought... I'm somewhere in the middle of you two on Fuller. I'm highly disappointed he hasn't brought us ANYTHING from a dead-eye 3pt shooter perspective, which is all he was brought in to do.But I also agree with Aurora in the fact that not everyone has to be a superstar, kinda nice to see a guy just stick around and be a role player and work hard. But the dude has to hit more 3's. Straight up, point blank, he has to. And Miles needs to put line ups on the floor that allows him to do that... Not bashing him in at the 4 with a ton of defensive responsibilities that draw away from his strengths. I'll be happy the first time Fuller doesn't hit the side of the back board when shooting a 3. He did it again during the scrimmage last week. After seeing that I'm not overly confident in his touch.
  22. Could AW III's role as PF be more around defense? He reportedly lacks lateral quickness which could require he guard PFs.
  23. I really like the 23 assists. When is the last time a Husker MBB team has had that many?
  24. 1. In today's shorter-clock era, we have at least three players who can create their own shot and score at a high percentage: Shavon is Sharon + another year of maturity; Hmmmmm. If Shavon is Sharon then I am certain he is better in TRANSition!
  25. I say one year from now. Anton will play, the current freshmen will have a years experience and Hammond/Jacobson will be ready. Hammond will be 6'10" & 240 while Jacobson will be 6'10" & 250 by then.
