  1. Actually they only return two starters and are picked to finish 8th in the PAC 12. Still better than where we are picked to finish in the B1G. They do have some talent to replace the starters, many of whom played last year as freshman. They have a powerful & crafty returning starting 6’6” center who should be there leading scorer.
  2. Competition is a good thing. If someone is cold, then you have someone else who can step in. Regarding Andres, I know Fred loves Walker’s leadership and Heem’s basketball IQ and ability to hit the 3, something important to make Fred’s offense sing. But Andres made a strong case for playing time. This kind of competition is a good thing!
  3. I saw a pretty intensive scrimmage recently and in that scrimmage Bruce hit all his shots and looked like a 5 star. Conversely Keon looked a bit lost. Young players in a new system. They’ll both be great players for us once they’re comfortable.
  4. From a small sample size: Verge is our best ball handler. Creates well with the ball and can get a reasonable shot off any time. Very quick. Out of control occasionally but not often. Hit some nice 3s. To me, big upgrade over Delano. Keon is Uber athletic. But needs some time to build his basketball IQ. He’ll get there but it may take a good part of the season. Trey, Lat, Eduardo and Derrick all have stepped up their games. Bryce is smooth for a freshman. Athletic and makes it look effortless. In a small sample size looks like everything we hoped for. Not sure what else to say. Wilhelm was a surprise. One would never know he was a freshman. Hustles, right place at the right time, good defender/rebounder and smooth 3 point shot. He may not start early in the season but I wouldn’t be surprised if he played starting minutes as the season wears on. His free throw shooting should ensure he plays the 5 late in close games. Keisie was a surprise. He will be a fan favorite. Plays hard every second on the floor. Good defender with quick hands. More athletic than expected but not elite athleticism. Very crafty player. Fun to watch. Smile on his face the entire time. Will hit a shot when open but still finding his shot against long athletic players like we have now. He’ll get there.
  5. Wil is very smooth. Always in the right place at the right time. Solid three point shooter but also a reasonable post defender. High energy and confident. He will play a big role this season. I wouldn’t be surprised if he starts at some point.
  6. Robin said HCFH still is holding out hope that Banton can fill that role.
  7. Wow! Uber athletic & skilled. Of course they are highlights but I would be pumped to get this guy!
  8. I’m Scandinavian and am deeply offended with the use of the Viking name and logo. My ancestors were peace loving people, not village ravaging savages, as typically portrayed. I expect to be asked for permission and to be given reparations.
  9. Actually I do think he catches the ball well. He just has no touch on his shot.
  10. I hope this works and Is close enough to count. https://video.search.yahoo.com/video/play;_ylt=A0geKLrZxa5eBEYAlRRx.9w4;_ylu=X3oDMTByMjB0aG5zBGNvbG8DYmYxBHBvcwMxBHZ0aWQDBHNlYwNzYw--?p=world’s+best+prank+phone+call&back=https%3A%2F%2Fsearch.yahoo.com%2Fsearch%3Fp%3Dworld%E2%80%99s%2Bbest%2Bprank%2Bphone%2Bcall%26ei%3DUTF-8%26_tsrc%3Dyfp-hrmob%26fp%3D1&fr=yfp-hrmob&turl=https%3A%2F%2Ftse3.mm.bing.net%2Fth%3Fid%3DOVP.JvsyU3WCdvogNKZIydIDwAEsDh%26amp%3Bpid%3DApi%26w%3D144%26h%3D78%26c%3D7&rurl=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.youtube.com%2Fwatch%3Fv%3DPEtAmDbxE54&tit=The+Greatest+Prank+Call+Ever&l=207&vid=7b045e736d30f8dcbda9db4162010b4b&sigr=YYsSECiehV.M&sigb=d6Jzgnmsqv9G&sigt=HlQHSxQ2QCzZ&sigi=VsdVi.4Nys.I
  11. Coach Hoiberg says we should have word on a big next week. He feels good where we stand. I assume this is Sanogo.
  12. At a donor event Fred said they were bringing in a premier big man. It was said in a way that sounded as if it was a done deal. This was 6 weeks ago or so.
  13. We lead for Sanogo also. Sounds like the only issue holding up his commitment may be academics. I’m no insider, got this from a different site.
  14. We’re probably in the lead on this one. Got this from another site.
  15. He said he is preserving his eligibility.
  16. Robin Washut said that there is potential for the addition of a massive recruit at the Ohio State game. Could it be 2021 Rivals #1 Jonathan Kominga? We know that Matt A. was recruiting Kominga for St Johns. Any inside info?
  17. Yes, it has been confirmed he is in Lincoln. The question is why he isn’t practicing?
  18. Word on the street he is in street clothes while the rest of the team practices. Anyone know why?
  19. Daum’s story is interesting. Even in his freshman year in college he and his coach thought he would go nowhere. That was the point where Daum dedicated himself and built himself for into the player he is today.
  20. I read an analysis of guaranteed money based on draft position. The takeaway was that with a draft position any higher than 38 or 39, based on history, there would be little to no guarantee. And the final conclusion was, if there is no guarantee then Roby should just as well come back to Nebraska. Not certain how accurate this was but thought I would pass it on.
  21. It wouldn't surprise me if they didn't have a big locked down before cutting Heiman loose. Just because Brady is tall doesn't mean he can play the style HCFH wants to play. Sometimes you have to release those who don't fit to prove to those you are recruiting who do fit that there is playing time for them.
