Simply amazing how far the conference has come in one year. Makes you wonder what the quads would have looked like last year with the NET vs the RPI...
RPI was a lot harder on the B1G than predictive metrics were. You could see that pretty much bear itself out in the post-season (PSU/UM for example). It's so Nebrasketball that they switched from RPI to a hybrid metric the year after RPI really hurt us.

Agree with a lot of the recommendations so far. Two others are Au Courant (Benson, like 64th and Maple) and Boiler Room (south of Old Market).

I was curious as to how this year's struggling conferences were stacking up to last year's historically awful, might as well be the Missouri Valley, B1G conference. The BEast and SEC are currently worse than the B1G finished last year. It'll be interesting to see how much those conferences are punished.
And obviously the Pac 12 deserves Bill Walton talking about getting high during their games because the basketball isn't really worth watching.- AuroranHusker, HuskerActuary, big red22 and 1 other

Yeah, you're right. It's Tier 3.
Penn State in general is one of those horrible teams to play because they're the opposite of a RPI hack; they're better than their RPI would indicate.

I don't mind it. The chances of Alvarado going up against Heimlich and getting a W were really slim. You are gonna find out a lot about these new arms against a really good lineup which will help you later in the season.

Bart Torvik has a good explanation of what Kenpom's "secret sauce" is, too. I found reading it was pretty informative.

I checked RPI Forecast for Michigan earlier today. According to their projections, if Michigan goes 3-0 or 2-1 to close the season, they will be top 30 RPI. If they go 2-1 it will be REALLY close. Worth mentioning that they will have an opportunity to improve their RPI in the B1G tournament before even playing us, so if they can get top 30 in the regular season, I like their chances of staying there even after we ravage them a second time.
Anyway, that's just some inaccurate forecasting food for thought. Might be worth having a bubble watch for Top 30 RPI and decide who we need to move down in RPI for Michigan to move up

I think the formula is quadrant-heavy rather than RPI-heavy. Of course RPI issues compound the quadrant issues.

I like the highlighting to start the season, but agree that it's not as helpful at this point. Noting the double plays is nice.
