  1. yup............agree, she is a hustler. no doubt about her effort. however, she needs to be more consistent with the three. hoping we see that improve as the season moves on. this Coley discussion.....listen, don't want to disparage her---glad she became a husker and i cheer for her to do well when she gets her minutes. i'm not sure if it's how she is used, or, if she was a bit overrated coming out of hs, whatever. i just think you are gonna get what you see (or have seen). i think she will be kinda similar to Hake. they will have their moments, but, most likely few and far between. i sure would love to see them prove me wrong.
  2. wth.............for any of the wbb husker football fans. game against Maryland will be at 11am and on PEACOCK!!!
  3. DWU had some nice back door cuts for scores. i thought this would be a big game scoring wise for AM. imo, it appears Potts and Nissley will be the two freshman that can help the most right away. Petrie looks like she is going to need the most time to adjust to the college game. i thought she was a little slow out there, but, hey, it is the first game. Darian was a very nice get for the Huskers.
  4. excited for the team to get things underway. MM was on the vb postgame show with AB. she stated she would be on the bench cheering her teammates on. nice to see her get the start against Rutgers. she played very well hitting .600 and getting 3 blocks.
  5. two from the big ten on the list...Caitlin Clarke of Iowa and Je'Nea Terry of Illinois (sp?) https://www.ncaa.com/news/basketball-women/article/2023-10-20/10-best-passers-womens-college-basketball-2023-24

  7. still......looking at this, as i stated before the 6-11 spots could have a lot of movement throughout the season. while Illinois is in the 5 spot i still think it's a good spot for them, but, it isn't out of the question they drop to 6, maybe 7. i'll stick with Purdue and Minnesota as the teams with the best potential to surprise. Although, Purdue would not be the surprise Minny could pull off. going with my head, not my heart.....it's going to be a real battle for the huskers to put themselves in alignment for an NCAA berth. need it bad to help with recruiting. i know it's mentioned practically every season, however, most teams are getting a little better and better......road wins are going to be tough (for all but maybe 3...4?)
  8. difficult to read anything into this, but, number of interesting "people" at other schools have started following Maggie Mendelson. hoping it means nothing.
  9. sh**..........this sucks. it's difficult to say if Allison returned to her old form or not. some do......some don't. gotta love her attitude though. wish her nothing but the best!

  11. anyone else getting more and more nervous about this decision? i just have the feeling if she really had her heart set on Big Red, it wouldn't drag out this long. someone calm the nerves.......
  12. i just get the feeling the teams battling in that 6-7-8-9 and possibly 10 position could do a lot of bouncing around in the standings. HUD.....Illinois got a couple of transfers that should help them quite a bit. Illinois struggled a bit down the stretch....i may be proven wrong, but, i think the coach (Shauna Green) could very well turn into one of the better coaches in the Big10. we'll see.
  13. OSU INDIANA IOWA MARYLAND ILLINOIS
  14. true.........but, it's only the beginning.
  15. 20 Big10 games and the first day of the Big10 Tournament on Peacock
  16. guessing they were there to watch 3: Maddyn Greenway 2026 Emma Millerbernd 2027 Ari Peterson 2028 (if last name looks familiar, yes, Adrian Peterson's daughter) Most think Greenway is a lock for Iowa (both parents attended Iowa)...however, don't throw minny out of contention.
  17. https://www.weareiowa.com/video/sports/locked-on/lo-national/locked-on-womens-basketball/dawn-plitzuweit-minnesota-golden-gophers-prepare-to-conquer-big-ten-womens-basketball-podcast/535-637aab7a-6003-48a8-a816-985b2ab2c0ce i understand many of you only want to hear about Husker bb......however, this is a pretty interesting interview with Dawn Plitzuweit from Minnesota. i will go out on a limb right now........IF she can get the gophers to finish in that 5 to 7 range this season, and show they can compete with some or most of the top 5 teams.......there is so much talent in that region she just might have Minny competing for titles in a couple of years. in other words, she may get the upper talent to stay at home. this is a squad that just might play leap frog.
  18. since followers pretty much have a good idea what huskers face in the conference, here is the ranking and record for the non-con: Northwestern State 324 8-18 Wyoming 87 21-11 Alcorn State 325 10-17 Creighton 24 22-9 Lamar 188 17-12 TCU 198 8-23 Florida Atlantic 236 10-18 Georgia Tech 114 13-17 UNC Wilmington 337 4-24 Southern 193 16-14 Kansas 51 22-11
  19. i'll try to keep a running tally (if this ol' feeble mind can remember) #44 Syracuse #10 Tennessee #43 Toledo # 9 Ohio State #42 Texas # 8 Stanford #41 Mississippi State # 7 South Carolina #40 Oklahoma State #6 UCLA #39 Princeton #5 Indiana #38 Gonzaga #4 Utah #37 Michigan #3 Iowa #36 Arizona #2 UConn #35 South Florida #1 LSU #34 Villanova #33 Oklahoma #32 Illinois #31 Arkansas #30 Nebraska #29 Washington #28 Kansas State #27 North Carolina State #26 Washington State #25 Oregon #24 Duke #23 Kansas #22 Baylor #21 Louisville #20 Colorado #19 Florida State #18 USC #17 North Carolina #16 Creighton #15 Mississippi #14 Virginia Tech #13 Maryland #12 Texas #11 Notre Dame
  20. just curious as to whether anyone else caught this pre-game interview (gopher-husker vb match) with coach cook? John Baylor brought up in detail Maggie Mendelson's accolades while in hs and asked coach cook about her. coach didn't even acknowledge it and went directly to discussing Andi Jackson. hmmmm...does kinda make one wonder why he skipped right over Baylor's comments. then again.........maybe it's a nothing burger.
  21. besides LSU and So Carolina leading the pack, here are her other choices that could make a run at the title: UConn UCLA Utah Virginia Tech Iowa
  22. completely agree...........remember, she has stated vb is her #1 choice. not saying she couldn't change her mind.
  23. well, jmo but...i kinda kept one eye on MM on the bench. i don't think she is happy at all. the couple times i noticed the rest of the team was celebrating a play and there was not much emotion from MM. at the end of the game she ran on the court and patted someone on the back, but, the smile was gone very quick. it does make you wonder what will happen. if a decision is coming in the near future, i wish her nothing but the best. she could be playing vb for a lot of teams. i really hope she sticks around, but, i wouldn't put money on it. i will also add........i could be way off base.
