huskers hanging in at #42 in the NET ratings.... feel better if they can get into the 30's
-
thank you. however, i disagree. i did research on her condition (chronic) when i heard they offered her. team just was not gonna get many minutes out of her.
-
i just think it was a mistake to depend on either one of these two (due to medical issues from the beginning). i still scratch my head on the decision to offer the gal from out east that had surgery on her legs to try and help with the pain. apologize, but her name slips my old feeble mind. i checked in on a couple of her games last season and she hardly had any playing time there.

so much has dropped on Jaz since the Weidner injury. yes, Sam has definitely helped. however, huskers really miss that "trio". just seems like it has worn on Jaz somewhat. i know she is playing hard, though. she is pretty tough player.
-
tall, athletic players that can move (and score) give you a pretty darn good advantage, of course. however, shauna green at illinois has done a great job in her first year. these are her main players: 5'6", 5'6", 5'9", 5'10", 5'10", 6'2", and 6'3". they can harass the crap out of you, and, can play pretty good offense. i believe they are sitting at 6-3 in the big ten.
-
its very difficult to judge the recruiting aspect as no one really knows what goes on inside the program. i would argue that more than likely they shoot for many top notch players, however, the interest is not reciprocated. jmo. you have to show you can win on a pretty consistent basis.

Big Ten team news...(Hoopla's picks complete p. 17)

wth, Clark??? -
gonna have to watch the rerun, however, in that 4th quarter (around that 7-8 minute mark?) i saw a camera shot that showed a look on Alex M's face haven't seen in awhile. it gave me the feeling that the rest of this game is gonna go through Alex---win or lose. it was on her shoulders. just a huge, huge effort by Alex. agree with many of you...........when is the last time huskers got a layup or a real short jumper off a throw-in from the baseline??? those lob passes into the back court drive me crazy. anyway, just a really big win that the huskers had to have.

asked my cousin from minny if he has heard any rumors on Jordan Zubich. he's heard minny isn't on her final 4 official visits. don't know if nebraska is on that final 4, but, this would really be a nice get if they can pull it off.

i am wondering if it's so much a psychological issue anymore. i agree it was a huge issue in coming back a number of years ago. i just think now it's a strength and stamina issue. i guess what i am saying is if your an athlete and are set on coming back, the psychological part is diminishing.

yes.........but, the acl procedures in this era is unbelievable. as a viking fan (from sunday's playoff game), look at the running back Barkley from the Giants. never know he had surgery. another example, the point guard from SDSU. she had surgery last winter and is playing now for SDSU. she is looking very, very good. if you are dedicated post surgery rehab.........you are practically good as new.

true.......however, i think what that staff has been able to do in such a short time is rather impressive. as always, time will tell.

Whitney Brown ... anyone know what happened to her?
whoopdeedoo replied to Tom Jones's topic in Row 6 Seat 10
always rooted for her........similar to emily wood. wishing her the best! -
in other words....."we took it easy today"? Guffy drives me nuts.............but, he gets the job done. i think some fans have to remember/take this into consideration..........huge step for MM. she could be playing hs basketball this season. in games like this............weidner is truly missed. OSU is very talented.
-
i would much rather listen to her than Kristi Scott Williams or whatever her name is. i wish BTN would get rid of her. that Michigan-Nebraska game in the Big Ten tourney she announced was putrid. not to mention other games she has "done".
-
may have been the best defensive effort this season. if not, in the top 2-3. psu can definitely hassle you, though. very athletic---quick to the ball. surprised melissa mckenna didn't try to create more---but, yes huskers played good defense on her. i thought there was some opportunities for her. callin hake has been a pleasant surprise. hope she continues to grow. i feel comfortable with the ball in her hands. nice post-game with her and krull. if i do have a negative......it's the passing of annie stewart. always get a bit nervous when she has the ball in her hands. hope they can work on that. congratulations to izzie 1000+ career pts.....and, congrats to coach williams for #300!!! i did read an article that stated izzie will not be back. i hope the columnist got the info wrong.....time will tell. really, really hoping jaz returns.......just afraid she is gonna have some nice $$$ thrown at her though.

wonder what the deal is with Johnasia Cash.......she came into the league tearing it up.....had great games against nebraska. she doesn't appear in any stat lines so far. Coppin State (11/25): Finished with eight points, four rebounds and two assists in Penn State debut. St. Francis (PA) (11/30): Finished with 16 points and eight rebounds. Rhode Island (12/3): Shot 75 percent (6-8) from the field for 13 points and eight rebounds. at Syracuse (12/6): Recorded first double-double in a Penn State uniform with 13 points, 10 rebounds and three steals. Indiana (1/7): Put together a monster effort with 19 points and 17 rebounds in addition to three blocks and a steal. at Minnesota (1/10): Notched 14 points and 12 rebounds. Northwestern (1/17): Scored 14 points and added eight rebounds and three steals. Minnesota (1/25): Kicked off her stretch of four-straight double-doubles with 22 points and 15 rebounds. at Illinois (1/28): Contributed 14 points and 10 rebounds. at Purdue (1/31): Scored a career-best 28 points behind 13 made field goals and added 12 rebounds and three steals. Nebraska (2/4): Capped her stretch of four-straight double-doubles with a monster 27-point, 19-rebound performance…The 19 rebounds were a career best and the second-most boards ever by a Lady Lion in a single conference game as a Big Ten member. Wisconsin (2/7): Shot 72.7 percent (8-11) from the field en route to 18 points while adding four steals and four rebounds. Michigan State (2/13): Finished with 16 points and 10 rebounds. at Nebraska (2/21): Scored 17 points while adding 13 rebounds, three blocks and two steals. Ohio State (2/24): Contributed 16 points, five rebounds, a block and a steal in Penn State’s upset over a top 15 team. Rutgers (2/28): Notched her tenth double-double of the season with 11 points and 11 rebounds.

don't like saying this so early in the Big Ten season.....but, huskers have to win this game.
-
at the start of the season, i had Iowa, OSU, Maryland, Indiana (in no particular order here) as the "elite" of the Big Ten. Now, i believe we can add Illinois and Michigan to the pot. except for maybe Minny, Wisconsin, and Rutgers...the rest will jockey for positioning. does the NCAA take 8 teams?

this was the one game that i thought would be a "for sure" road win. i have mentioned this before, but, this team has had issues with layups in many games...even in games they have won. just don't stick out as bad. i hope coach williams was slamming her clipboard against the wall and doing some serious butt chewing. i'm not sure what her locker room demeanor is when confronted with these type of losses. IF, and that is probably a big if, they make the NCAA's....this is the type of loss that can do serious damage to seeding. didn't get to watch the game, thought i would rush home and catch second half.....however, when i turned the game on the phone in the car and matt was mentioning the 3pt shooting (0-22) and how badly they were missing layups, i decided i might as well run errands instead. wow................just wow.
-
just read where Geno A. of UConn will miss another game....against Xavier. due to health issues. states he needs more time to take care of himself. i believe this will be the 4th game he has missed?

watched Logan Nissley from Bismarck Central defeat Bismarck tuesday evening. good defensive position. quick release on her shots. her offense is pretty darn efficient. she scored 17, however, she has a couple of really good scorers so BC does not have to rely on Logan. passes very well......doesn't force things. good court awareness. i could see her being efficient with the mid-range jumper and beyond. she drained one of her 3's from about 6ft beyond the perimeter line. she did have a couple breakaways, but, Bismarck's defense shut them down. not sure she is gonna blow by anybody driving to the basket, though. i definitely can see where she can bring some offense to the huskers. excited to see her be a husker!
