completely agree...........remember, she has stated vb is her #1 choice. not saying she couldn't change her mind.
-
well, jmo but...i kinda kept one eye on MM on the bench. i don't think she is happy at all. the couple times i noticed the rest of the team was celebrating a play and there was not much emotion from MM. at the end of the game she ran on the court and patted someone on the back, but, the smile was gone very quick. it does make you wonder what will happen. if a decision is coming in the near future, i wish her nothing but the best. she could be playing vb for a lot of teams. i really hope she sticks around, but, i wouldn't put money on it. i will also add........i could be way off base.

just finished listening to the SM & Amie Just podcast. Sam stated Brit will be making her decision in October. Also stated there will be an article coming out on her recruiting sometime towards the end of the week?
-
yes, her age did come up in the discussion.

my sister who lives in nebraska came to visit me this past weekend. she is a huge follower of the vb team. just thought i would pass this bit of information she passed along to me. two players one might want to keep an eye on once this school year is over: one is Maggie Mendelson and the other is Allie Batenhorst. tough to keep everyone happy with all that talent...not to mention the future commits. i will add both her and husband do have pretty good connections. hoping she is wrong, but, wouldn't be a big shock.

2025... Divine Bourrage ESPN HoopGurlz No. 9 6-0 Point guard Davenport North (IA) | All Iowa Attack To watch Bourrage play is to watch an excellent display of the transition attack in basketball. When the ball is outlet to her, whether make or miss, she smoothly and quickly advances the ball up the floor with minimal dribbles. There were numerous examples of her getting to the paint after an opponent made basket before 4-5 seconds had come off the shot clock. Bourrage is an extremely skilled big guard who rebounds the ball skillfully. She is shifty with her handle and uses her body well at the rim and even in post-up situations. She can score the ball from all three levels and since she added the major improvement from the 3-point line this year (it hovered around 15% last year on the 16U level only to improve to 50% this year on the 17U level), she is very hard to guard as a single defender, especially in transition. This opens things up for her to create for teammates as defenses have to commit a couple of bodies to her to slow down the ball. She helped take her squad to the EYBL championship game by averaging 10.9 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 4.3 assists. She had a very strong showing in that game going 4-for-4 from the 3 and scoring 21 points. Defensively, she uses her big frame to disrupt the opposing team's point guard and rebound to ignite the fast break. Bourrage is good without the ball in her hands as well as she understands the timing and execution of cuts and execution of sets. Her recruitment is all over the map and includes: Michigan, Florida, Illinois, Iowa State, Iowa, Ohio State, Rutgers, Georgia, Indiana, Purdue, Vanderbilt, Alabama, Utah, Nebraska, Michigan State, Tennessee, West Virginia, Kansas State, Baylor, Minnesota, and North Carolina State.

started reading only to find out that this is the last issue for Hail Varsity. 11 years in print.......subscriber for the majority. i will miss it. anyway, i digress. a section included was some predictions for Nebraska athletics in the next 10 years. i will get right to the prediction for husker wbb given/written by Drake Keeler. here are a few excerpts: Title: Williams Teams Have To Keep Building For New Big Ten "Whether the Huskers can maintain a respectable program with occasional tournament appearances isn't too hard of a question. That's most likely a yes. But March 2024 will mark 10 years since Nebraska's last tournament win. The ceiling is the uncertain part. For the upcoming season, a full-health Husker team should find itself in the NCAA Tournament once again, and is capable of ending its drought of tournament wins. While it depends on matchups, going any further than the round of 32 seems unlikely." "Over the next 10 years, success for Nebraska doesn't mean Final Four appearances. Down the road, if parity in the sport continues to increase, that might not be impossible. For now, though, the ideal future for the program looks like fairly consistent NCAA Tournament appearances, and a breakthrough to the Sweet 16." "Those things will require continued success in the transfer portal and in-state recruitment-the state currently home to a top-25 prospect in the nation" "I've spent this section avoiding bold predictions, so I'll end with a few. In the next 10 years, Nebraska makes its third-ever Sweet 16 appearance. The team continues to shoot a bunch of 3s with strong guard play. Shelley records another triple-double. Finally, with so much talent continuing to join the BigTen, and strong support in Nebraska, expect multiple sellout crowds at Pinnacle Bank Arena."

How much of it we see, and how much they can elevate past that, is unknown, but I am drinking the Kool-Aid that last year was a small misstep on the road to something greater. This is Shelley’s last year, but Amy Williams has built a roster that has plenty of bright spots moving forward. More importantly, this is also a team that can — and should — be good enough right now to get to and win in the NCAA Tournament."

well, if you look back at her interview when she committed, i wouldn't be shocked if she did come back. she's got a ton of $$$ already. -

since husker news should be rather quiet for a stretch, just thought i would pass this along. was talking to my cousin who lives just north of the cities. the topic of a 2028 recruit from Duluth, Mn came up. Chloe Johnson---i may have mentioned her before. 5' 10" guard. cuz told me that there have been some wbb commentators that have already dubbed her the #1 recruit in the country for 2028. well, yes, it's awful early and we all know that can change, but, even to get a mention at her age is pretty doggone impressive. anyway, after talking with him i looked up a few articles and whatever i could find on her. from some of her comments, i think the gophers will have a really good shot at getting her to commit---however, that is if the new coach has some pretty decent success. i'm just amazed the talent that minnesota keeps putting out in girls basketball.

i have always thought Prince is a "must get" for the husker program. with the new alignment on the way, it most likely deserves capital letters (MUST GET).
