I see more of a Nicea type of player although Dillard lacks Nicea's length...i think she will bring a little more athleticism than Hallie had. Hallie turned out to be pretty good around the basket while i think Dillard will be able to cover more of the floor. think she has the potential to bring some offense with her. couple of the big reasons i see her starting as the season begins is she brings experience and health with her. not saying something or someone might change that at some point---i just see her in that top group starting the season out. wonder when we find out if Dillard and Cravens get their wavers? i think Dillard is a shoe-in for hers. if Mikesell can get one, i don't see why Cravens shouldn't!

as stated earlier, kind of a mixed bag i'm sure .... make the best of these final days!

i don't know if it's true, but, i heard other P5 offers were coming in (along with nebraska) and she may have been gone from SDSU anyway.

Ruby Porter: https://spark.adobe.com/page/KYotDlg3KlY05/?fbclid=IwAR3y7pJX-9UqNut5-epwACv9b7wLy4sahqDgE- "She was also waiting on her student visa, which she officially picked up in Sydney on Aug. 5, and she hopes to be on campus in Lincoln for the start of fall classes on Monday, Aug. 24."

auriemma gives his view on the upcoming season (start in january or february?) https://www.espn.com/womens-college-basketball/story/_/id/29634982/uconn-geno-auriemma-anticipating-long-wait-start-college-hoops-season

i am projecting her to be one of the starters...at least for the beginning (if the season moves forward)

Graham Hayes winners and losers in the transfer market...
whoopdeedoo replied to whoopdeedoo's topic in Row 6 Seat 10
yeah, i know what you are saying, but, really....why should Mikesell and not Cravens (that is, if she is declined)? i just don't see the difference. i'm really starting to get excited for this upcoming season (as long as it takes place). Coley is really starting to get me pumped up for when she arrives!!! -

i'll be really ticked if Cravens doesn't...Mikesell did. am i missing something? what is the difference between Mikesell and Cravens transfers? plus, don't see how Dillard won't. -
yeah, have to believe TT will clean house. seriously doubt TT will get a "household" name, but, someone will take the job. no problem there. won't be the program it once was....at least in the near future.

penn st loses maybe their best... https://thenext.substack.com/p/big-ten-roundup-penn-state-loses

you may be correct on that one. hope things change. like i have stated before, big season for this staff. as long as it takes place.
-
yes, jmo but, think this is a crucial season for this staff. as long as it takes place. i think they will have to finish at least .500 if not better. i'm so sick of this "mask" crap.

from OWH: "The coaching staff is phenomenal and I want to go somewhere I can win," McCabe said. "The head coach is Lisa Bluder and is going to be a future Hall of Famer for sure. They have two young guard coaches that are really good and I get along with really well." well, hope things turn out different!
-
yep.....done deal. didn't bother copying. it's on twitter. from LSJ: "I definitely wanted to go play for a program that likes to win and is super competitive and has fun while doing it, and they definitely do that," McCabe said. imo, i think the "super competitive" phrase is most likely the biggest obstacle facing the huskers at this time. guess the Megan Gustafson era has really launched things at iowa. always had a pretty good history, but...some really good recruits coming in.

when Summit League was interested in adding another school, there was discussion about Grand Canyon. i doubt Grand Canyon had any interest---look at what the travel $$$'s would be.
-
i seriously doubt she plays any more than sg/pg positions. unless she has a growth spurt. obviously, she still has two years to go. i will agree her numbers are not all that impressive---esp. as a sg. 32% 3 point shooter, i believe. no idea how her floor command is.
-
now, if the huskers could get a break and land Lillian Meister from Rochester John Marshall. tell ya, that would be a coup!!! as they say, she checks all the boxes a P5 school looks for. i read she does have an offer from the Huskers.

yes, the stats i found were just for regular season. minnesota is the "gorilla" compared to sd. that does not include # of games through state tourney and the summer clubs.

fwiw, talking to a guy that knows one of SD sportswriters. brought up 3 names: (1) Bella Swedlund he heard her offers are rising fast. well over 20 but didn't know how many of those might be P5. (2) Hannah Ronsiek from Sioux Falls O'Gorman. she is getting a lot of attention also. her sister (Emma) is at Creighton and there is some mention she may join her---however, he stated some are saying she may want to pave her own way. (3) the gal from Sioux Falls Washington (Ndjakalenga Mwenentanda). arguably, one of SD's most athletic recruits in some time. stated the "buzz" on her has been kinda quiet for whatever reason. her mother played at Old Dominion and professionally. at one time, there were rumors she would probably head south for the warmer weather---but, he said those were just "rumors". he said a number of area P5 schools have shown interest not to mention others nationally.

i just came across some interesting stats for hs gbb. Minnesota: 18 minute halves 26 games/season = 936 minutes South Dakota: 8 minute quarters 20 games/season = 640 minutes curious how Nebraska and Iowa compare. could anyone provide the info?
-
i sure hope they don't have to play in front of cardboard cutouts!!!

Williams said she doesn’t see her team hitting the downtown O Street bars en masse, but if they head out to the lake together, she wants them to maintain social distancing. Cain, who is a “captain intern” this summer, is shepherding the team as well. “They tell us to be safe and not go into places where there’s going to be a ton of people,” Cain said. “And we have to make sure we wear our masks.” doesn't surprise me to see Cain take the "reigns".
