Coach Barnes? No way. My opinion that he should of been gone two years ago, isn’t and wasn’t wrong. Sorry, that your amazing opinion of our Coaches abilities is and was wrong. Your poor ego. I know it hurts your ego. I’ve read the board since. Also from another source who knows Fred’s agent no way he ends up here, he’d be happier with a NBA front office job, than to come back to college. Also, Matta’s agent will push hard for him to be in consideration.

Is Bill Moos going to give me a year off my donations?
lanigan123 replied to Norm Peterson's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
The writing is on the wall for Tim. He knows this. I for one believe next year is his last on Lincoln regardless of outcome. I do believe he will look at other jobs next year. Heck I could even see Minnesota make a run at him after Pittino struggles again. It sucks for fans because it’s really a lost cycle or two for recruiting purposes. You lose your best player on this current class and your best recruiter is gone. -
What to do with Miles contract?
lanigan123 replied to The Polish Rifle's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
He did have serious issues with his players. Their was drama surrounding him and the program, those are facts. That doesn’t mean you can’t personally like someone and few they aren’t the best coach for the job. Had they moved on from a Tim at that time, we wouldn’t have this quandary about what to do. -

I do like him, he’s charismatic, funny, hard worker, but he has failed to achieve what he was brought here to do, win. Are we paying someone 2 million a year to be a .500 coach? Sub .500 in conference who struggles to keep both transfers and high school players. Being funny and charasmatic does mean squat if you can draw up a good play after a timeout. So yes, I personally like him. You can like someone and not think they are good at the current job they are in. -

You either think he is the right coach for your team or you don’t 6 years in. You don’t give a guy 6 years to develop a 5 year plan. Personally, I like Miles, but I think he has taken our Huskers as far as he can. I’d make a change. However, if I can’t find a guy I view as better to take the job I’d probably give Miles the ol 2 year extension with a massive pay cut. He should be paid like a coach that makes an NCAA tournament every 6 years.... -
Hmmm no update on when Roby will be practicing...

I'm excited to be able to run plays where they actually have to guard the PG. I think this may open this up a bit more for this team to get to the rim.

We should be getting them the last week of October.

2018 SG Aguek Arop -> San Diego St
lanigan123 replied to uneblinstu's topic in Husker Hoops Recruiting
On the flip side of all this I hear from someone on the team that the team feels very good about where they are as a team heading out of summer conditioning. You know, all that talent that Miles pulled in that were freshman last year? Yeah they feel extremely good about the upcoming season and also very good about the incoming freshman that Miles added to their team.Players leaving? If you mean White then I think it's pretty much been revealed that White's father was much more to blame here and that the departure had way less to do with Miles and/or the program. A player who didn't want to be here leaving the team is a positive in my mind. Assistants leaving? Up for debate but leaving for a head coaching job isn't a knock on Miles, neither is leaving for an alma mater. Burno was a who-knows but he left to coach with a buddy. And Beckner? Sources close claimed he was "beyond weird" and never a good fit. Michael Lewis is a massive upgrade. Desperate? I'd name it pressure to win now. That's deserved by Miles but to call it desperation just because he's bailing on an in-state recruit that didn't pan out? That's absurd. I know it's different because Arop is in-state and there's pressure to get and keep those guys when they're good enough. But Miles absolutely cannot afford to bring in a guy that you can't use (que open scholarship gripers). Miles is making that call and you can't really argue with him when he believes he's got better pieces that he can get instead. He's not just cutting a player loose just to cut one loose. He feels like he has a better use for that scholarship. Agree on all except the White transfer. It's a positive if he issues the ship on someone talented... To that end, he's left a ship open for the last 2 years... I'd rather have Arop than an open spot. -

Another strange move by Shawn. 3 months before signing date. Not so strange for a coach with questions...I'm not sure what you mean by this...are you saying Miles has questions for Eichorst? Or that there are questions that need to be answered in regards to Miles?I believe Miles needs to have a good year.Keep in mind, I believe Bo P got his 1 year extension even though people believe he should have been fired. I think winning is paramount. Wow, brilliant! Such insight! Winning is good! Such a salty little girl. Waaaaaaaa.

I still find Miles culpable in the White decision. Doesn't mean I didnt renew my season tickets. Ultimately, I want the team to be successful. Id be more than happy being wrong if it meant the team was good.

What is it that I want to be right about? I love that I'm living rent free in a few peoples heads on here. That's so much better than being right on Andrew.
-
That was close. Probably just another article on White because BR didn't get Lanigan's memo about moving on. Stay salty...

Anyone see Rosenthal Tweet?
-
In no way was this a rational move on White's part, he can't explain it away and it's hard as a fan to accept. The move solidifies he is not an NBA player and at this point wants to chase a national title as a roll player. Time to move on.

Lanigan and Huskerbaseball13 already had that one covered. Wait... I said they were toast?

Nothing that's released publicly will ever add up to his decision. He wants out, even if it's the wrong decision. I hope TM gets a warm body to play the guard spot, its definitely needed.

Miles isn't on the hot seat. He would have to bomb the next two years.
