The perimeter skill hasn't really developed at all (14% 3FG, 59% FT for his career at LPX) and he'd be a bit undersized at the five spot at the Big Ten level. He's having a terrific season, but he's also not going up against a ton of guys his size or bigger like he will in college.

I don't think Nebraska missed on Josiah. Taking the path he did helped him become the player he is now. There's nothing wrong with developing at a mid-major and then potentially earning on opportunity to transfer up and test yourself later on; that can often work out better than heading to a high-major out of high school and potentially getting stuck on the bench.

Fun to win but whole heckuva lot more fun to put a drubbing on Michigan.

Hoiberg started his NU tenure 6-50 in the Big Ten. It was 2-18, 3-16, and 1-16. Brutal. Then NU won 3 straight during the Verge/McGowens end-of-a-brief-era to wrap up his initial 3 seasons in the B1G at 9-50. Wow, how did that happen... yikes.

Well, the foresight to bring Trev in as A.D. has helped Fred tremendously as Hoiberg & Co. have fully competent assistants in all phases with Loenser, Howard, & Zeigler on-board. Since those early, especially awful 3 years in the Big Ten, Hoiberg has been 9-11 and now 7-7 (with 6 remaining ballgames). Overall record for Fred is 57-81, with 25-68 in the B1G. Without Trev Alberts around, Hoiberg would likely have floundered aimlessly with no strong leadership at the helm of Big Red athletics, and I shudder to think where NU would be right now. I really like Hoiberg and I was willing to throw out those first 3 seasons, but have kept them in the back of my mind as a launching point with that 3-0 finish to 2021-22.

But, and it's a relatively BIG Butt, the bright side for Hoiberg is that since that initial gruesome 6-50 start in the B1G (followed shortly thereafter by that mini-run to finish '21-22 with 3 straight ROAD wins, of which 2 were on Senior Night), Fred's teams have basically been 19-18 in the past 2+ years in the Big Ten conference. Not particularly great by upper echelon programs' standard, but palatable for most B1G programs, and simply elated for many, if not most, diehard Big Red fans. To wit, these final 6 games of 2023-24 are absolutely crucial to get this program 'in the Big Dance' by going at least 4-2. I think they do it, I really do. They are resolute in their gritty behavior of late. Fred's lineup changes have sparked things with Allick's flamethrowers & four-wheelers, as well as Sammy's hand-grenades, and that positive mojo will bring them where they want to go. Let's do this, Huskers! GBR

But medical hardships definitely still happen. It’s what I suspect Ramel is doing as well to preserve an extra year.

Took care of the ball.  Took good shots.  Passed up good shots for wide open shots.  I agree with Jake, that was the best 15 minute stretch by far this season.

Michigan is not well coached.  They go by Switzer's philosophy.  It is more about the Jimmy's and Joe's than the X's and O's.  If the Jimmy's and Joe's play well, they will beat you.

If given the choice between a Palmer clone or a Watson clone, I would choose a Watson clone.  We need a PG in the worst way.  I think we don't lose to Minnesota,  Rutgers, or last night with Watson. That would make us 19 - 4, and in the thick of the conference race.

I commend Lawrence for giving it a try, but he is not ready.

I’m proud of the way we played tonight.  Thought a lot of things went Illinois way (cough cough refs).  We play like this on the road the rest of the season, we’ll definitely win 1-2 of them. Do that and win our remaining home games, we’ll be dancing.

Illinois shot twice as many FT. was Bull shit. To bad the refs couldn't see the game that we watched.

Another reason I don't take Big 10 teams very far in NCAA tourney bracket. Conference refs aren't available to bail their asses out.
Underwood forgot to mention the refs bailed his whiny ass out.

Absolutely disgraceful officiating. They physically beat the shit out of us for 45 minutes and we didnt see the bonus until OT because they were stragetically fouling??

Huskers played better than most thought.  Proud of the fight tonight, playing 8 on 5.

That one sequence between them with 11 to go in the 2nd half was crazy.

I was ready to pass out towards the end of the game...MAN, that was fun.
I think it was even more exciting because WE WERE SOOO BAD for such a large chunk of time...and then...wow.

I’m so happy how Wilcher has played this season. Nebraska has finally made him play his game and not having to dribble much. Have him do the Klay Thompson role and he’ll succeed.

Yep.  He is a guy who should score on the receiving end of the play only.  He is a horrible facilitator and ball handler.
