Everyone is turning down the Kentucky job. Jay Wright, Billy Donovan, Scott Drew, Nate Oats, Danny Hurley. Hopefully they end up hiring Brad Underwood. Bruce Pearl is probably the only one left with the personality to be able to deal with that circus.
This reminds me of the Steve Pederson coaching hire. I remember some people talking about how nobody big would take the Nebraska job. Kentucky is going through pretty much the same thing.

Nope. I'd wager we'll average 5 transfers every off-season from here on out unless they change the rules of the transfer portal.
Silver lining that many transfers probably encourages the underclassmen to stay. Especially since the Super Senior are no longer a thing.
i don’t think that would bother Fred much when you look back on his Iowa State days. He was pretty good with transfers back then. -

Totally different skill sets, Payne is a primary low block player while Walker excelled at being out on the perimeter being the pivot point of the offense.
I could be totally wrong on how I see Payne but many of the comments you see from gopher fans prior to him entering the transfer portal was how poor of passer he was out of double teams. To me that doesn’t lend itself to being the pivot point of our offense.
i really like Payne for what he is. He is a tank in the paint….a throwback PF. If you need muscle down low he’s your man. If you need a passing or stretch 4 type…definitely NOT your man. It would be interesting to see how he would blend into this team. -
I’m a little surprised that both Wlicher and Lawrence left with Tominaga graduating. I figured they would be ready to battle it out for the role of primary shooter. Hopefully that means we have some options lined up for that role.

Timing is everything. If we were coming off this season when Baylor was transferring, our chances would have been much better. We were a dumpster fire when Baylor was mulling his options. I don’t blame him.

I say pack it in and make them shoot it. If they hit, they hit. On O, we need to draw some early fouls and put them in trouble early.
yep. They are the 10th worst 3 point shooting team in the country. They were insanely hot. We have to hope they return to the mean. But we cannot let them keep driving. -
A&M was out of their mind shooting this half. We need to settle down and not hang our heads . They should come back down to earth.

A shot-blocker would be amazing, though, no?!
From a basketball perspective I would love to have him slot into Josiah’s spot. Millerhusker’s comments give me pause, though. Culture ABSOLUTELY has to come first. -

Both local high-majors may have their sights set higher at this point, but he's already drawing significant interest from outside the state.
Frankie as of today is the #12 player in the portal. Not that that is the end-all-be-all, but that makes me curious who Nebraska and Creighton are targeting. -

Hot take: THose NIT games last night were darn good games!! A lot better than the play in games!
I will forever think the play in games are stupid. -

That look cupp kid for Indiana must be T the point where he’s like “anyone else want to guard this tominaga guy?” KT has eaten him up in three straight games, poor freshman.
it looked like Tominaga wanted to take it to him when he saw who was guarding him. Poor freshman indeed! -

That was a three point break for Indiana. We have to rebound.
yep. Seems like that happens a lot in basketball on a missed call -
I was hoping they would put up with one more season of Juwan since he is a Michigan man. Kind of like us and Frost.
I knew he would tank Michigan but this was better than I could have ever hoped for.

Wow. That’s a good get for DePaul if it comes to fruition. -
I’d prefer getting that elusive first tourney win. Being the only P5 program without a tourney win in 125+ years of basketball is a 2000 lb gorilla on our backs to me.

Hmm, how's this list looking? Any additions or subtractions?
Our “problem” is we are so balanced we may not get a guy. People thought we would rely on Tominaga which hasn’t been the case. Being the #20 scorer in the league when that is your main attribute as a player probably won’t cut it. But he is a media darling and the face of potentially the #4 team in the BIG. And a team that far exceeded their predicted finish. So there’s a chance.Meanwhile, Mast could make a run at bumping Reese or Omanyuri, even though when they play us they look like All Americans. His scoring and rebounding are in the ballpark with those two, and he is much better at assists. And, he is on a much better team, which often gets rewarded. Except we are Nebraska, so I am not counting on it.

I kind of wonder if he could eventually slot into Gary’s role. He seems very athletic and could be pretty rugged with some college S&C. I don’t know if he could be quite as good defensively as Gary but offensively I think he would do well eventually.

I’d want Kal’el Ware from Indiana. That guy is a beast and is a serious rim protector.

Oliver Nkamhoua is out the rest of the season, having surgery on his wrist. 15 ppg.
Ouch. As if they weren’t having enough problems this season.
I kind of figured Howard would ruin this team eventually but he has exceeded my expectations this year. I hope they give him as much rope as we did Frost.

Brice Williams should be solely a three point specialist at this level and I cannot be convinced otherwise
Yep. He is a guy who should score on the receiving end of the play only. He is a horrible facilitator and ball handler.

Did Spinelli get us Maric or is my memory failing? I remember Spinellinas an excellent recruiter and was bummed when he left.
