  1. Actually both women shot a better score then all four male participants.
  2. No - he didn’t play because he has been wearing a boot. (Trey says it’s nothing serious though) I was inferring Lat will be a starter and Heem will be the first off the bench in the front court.
  3. I don’t think it was random that the apparent early starter, Lat didn’t play and Breidenbach slide into that spot with the other four papers (R) early starters.
  4. Based on listening to the McGowins' podcast, this picture looks like the most likely to be the first five we roll out. At least at the beginning of the season.
  5. She already came out last week and said that's ridiculous.
  6. Oh yea, you win. I was remembering a wizards game I went to there years ago where they played on their turf which put the on field temp well over 100 degrees. Guess I’m getting old and forgetful.
  7. Except arrowhead is a horrible place to play soccer. They would have to bring in grass on trucks and those fields do not play well.
  8. I’m not giving you an opinion to agree or disagree with but telling you the facts of the system. There are things written down. Innocent until proven guilting is supposed to be the cornerstone and starting point of our system. And our system is not designed to judge the facts. That would be an inquisitional system like they use in France. There is only one side in that system that looks at all the evidence and presents the case as they see it. Our system is built on two partial sides in competition where the judge and jury are supposed to be the impartial ones and they are supposed to start with the presumption of innocence. I am also well aware that our system does not work as intended. For example, overwhelming negative or positive media coverage can spoil the jury pool and juries usually walk in leaning towards guilty because of the presumption that if they didn’t do something why are we here?
  9. If they follow the principle upon which our legal system is supposed to follow then they walk in assuming innocence. The burden of proof is completely on the prosecution. The defense doesn’t need to lay out any facts if they chose not to. And if you are say 85% sure they are guilty, your vote should be not guilty since the prosecution has not proven their case beyond a shadow of a doubt. The standard is lower for civil cases vs criminal cases. That’s why the term is “not guilty” and not “innocent.” Innocence would need to be proven and the defense is under no obligation to prove anything. Not guilty does not mean innocent. It means the prosecution has not met their burden of proof. That’s they ideal. I’m aware that is not the reality.
  10. Hence the mandatory firing of Martinez if the highly improbable happens. Mexico has does not have a history of patience with managers.
  11. Having nothing to do with this case but in general and in principle, innocent until proven guilty isn’t a hill to climb but is supposed to be the cornerstone of the American legal system. Without that there is no justice for anyone charged of any crime. Some cases seem pretty open and shut going in and the standards for a message board is certainly going to be lower but all jurors should walk into that box assuming the defendant is innocent.
  12. If USA’s C team beats Mexico Sunday, Martinez will be axed before Monday morning.
  13. Having taken the time to Google I can tell you the 2-pt line is the same as the international 3-pt line and they play with a women's ball for some reason.
  14. Its basketball enjoy it even if you can't root for someone. And it is high level basketball. I'm sure many of you have watched tons of AAU ball this summer and Olympic basketball talent and style wise is a far superior product. I don't even know if I was watching it live or on tape but Doncic went off for Slovenia v Argentina late last night at my house. It was a fun game to watch. I am currently watching Canada vs Serbia women. Pretty sure this is tape delayed but it's all good if you don't know the final score. And I was crushed when John Thompson's last all college team lost in the 1988 Olympics. When I think, ESPN had March Madness the showed every game, even though most were on delay. They had basketball on 24 hours a day that first Thursday/Friday. I would sit up with a notepad and jot down concepts or sets that I really like from Long Beach State vs. New Mexico at 3:00 in the morning. I was lucky enough to have watched every NC State game in the 83 tournament when they survived and advanced. The number of overtimes they went through was amazing. I'm not even referring to the OP, but I don't get all the schadenfreude in general. Root for someone, watch it for the pure enjoyment of the game, whatever. I don't understand people's strong emotional attachment to rooting against people or teams because somehow they feel they deserve to lose. Unless it's Tottenham. They deserve every bad thing that happens to them They Olympics are bonus basketball season. I just enjoy the games.
  15. The Twitter sphere says Kansas has already contacted the B1G
  16. I would think so. Now you are aware that not everything on Twitter turns out to be true? I just repeated what I saw.
  17. There was a tweet today from his camp about looking into a professional opportunity in Australian basketball.
  18. They have not - Blaise Keita. You take players where you can get players.
  19. I’ve never seen him play but he seems to duplicate a lot of the same skill set that Kobe Webster brings to the team. He wouldn’t of come if we told him he might not get minutes so I’m sure they see a real role for him.
  20. They can’t even move up to USL championship soccer until they get a soccer only facility to play in.
  21. I don’t see people driving from Des Moines to watch USL soccer. They have their own USL league 2 team now.
  22. Went to my first on the 3rd. Playing in a baseball field had me worried. I have been to “Wizard” games in that ballpark back when Children’s Mercy Park was being built. That didn’t work. The field was way too narrow condensed play. Corners were ridiculous. And having seats behind one of the goals, I almost lost a young child to an off target shot in warmups. Smashed the seat next to him. Four inches to the right and his hand probably has multiple breaks. The Owl’s field seemed close to the width it was supposed to and sight lines weren’t horrible. Only one corner I couldn’t really see. The atmosphere was tremendous for the crowd size and the support group stayed energized through out. The biggest difference I saw to higher level soccer was the keepers played very, very slow in their distribution and neither team really tried to play out from the back. All in all an enjoyable evening. I’m sure we’ll go back.
