Beside Rice and Diop, we also have Ahron Ulis (transfer point guard from Iowa) on our roster and he will be eligible next year. He'll bring three year's experience playing in the BIG 10 conference plus a redshirt year learning our system.

Colorado State may be very good. I thought I read that in the pre-season 'secret scrimmage' between Colorado State and Minnesota, Colorado State beat Minnesota by over 40 points. I was encouraged by these results thinking that we would get two easy wins over Minnesota this year. Minnesota may not be the patsy that I thought.

I went to the scrimmage last night. I have concerns about Boogie Coleman's body type. He is much taller and more broad through the shoulders than I thought he would be. But he is slower (and more hesitant) than I thought he would be. His shot did not look good either. However, I am very impressed with the way Jamarques Lawrence looks. Strong, quick, and confident. He looks like a BIG 10 player. His shot didn't go in either but I came away from the scrimmage much more impressed with Jamarques than Boogie.

And it can't get here soon enough.

Wow!! Is it possible that we will get to see both UCLA and North Carolina come to Lincoln to play basketball? The Vault will be packed!!

How many years of eligibility does Rienk Mast and Brice Williams have? With covid, I don't know if either one has an extra year of eligibility.

My guess is that we will pick up one more starter -- yet to be named -- from the portal.

Am I wrong to hope that Blaise Keita and Wilhelm Breidenbach will have an injury-free spring, summer and fall to improve their skill level, get bigger, and develop into reliable 'bigs' for us???

I just hope Lawrence sticks here. I think he has real star potential. His combination of skill, speed and confidence makes him a nightmare to defend. And he's already damn good on the defensive end, too.
And Lawrence has a thick-body type of frame. He can handle the physicality of the Big 10.

I've read comments from subscribers hinting that Hunter Sallis, Chucky Hepburn, and Isaac Traudt are all considering transferring to a new school. As a die-hard Husker fan, I can't help DREAMING what excitment it would bring to Nebraska basketball if these three players came home to Nebraska. It would be Sam Griesel X 3. There are also rumors of a quality 'big' to take Derek Walker's spot. And we already have Eli Rice signed. Again, I'm DREAMING, but for the next few weeks I will be checking daily on any news of these players. I can't help thinking what our team would look like adding these players to next year's team.
Chucky Hepburn (sr) -- point guard
Hunker Sallis (jr) -- shooting guard
Eli Rice (fr) -- small forward
Isaac Traudt (fr) -- power forward
Walker's replacement
Dreams can come true -- can't they??

The “X” factor is obviously getting that Player in the Portal that could take us to the next level. Who that might be I can only speculate, but they’ll have more to do with our success than the foundation that’s already laid.
I agree but at least we see the beginnings of a foundation.

Love Ramel's video. We need to keep him.
Looking two years down the road, this is what is see with the present roster:
Post Players:
Blaise Keita (sr.)
Oleg Kojenets (jr. - redshirt)
Wilhelm Breidenback (jr. - medical redshirt) -- can play power forward if we want a bigger line-up.
In two years, these 3 players should have the required bulk to guard the rim and rebound in the BIG 10. None of them will be major offensive threats.
Perimeter Players:
CJ Wilcher (sr.)
Jamarques Lawrence (jr.)
Ramel Lloyd (soph - redshirt)
Quaran McPherson (soph - redshirt)
Eli Rice (soph)
In two years, these players will score the majority of our points.
Denim Dawson transfers out. And for the 2024-25 season, we need to recruit a point guard and several bigs that can score both inside and out (wishing for John Bol (freshman) and Isaac Trout (sophomore transfer). We still would have two open scholarships to fill needs. The team is moving in the right direction. GBR!!!
