Glue teammates can sometimes learn to shoot as well...  think about ozzie smith in baseball -- always had the athletic ability and defense, learned to hit.

It's possible he made big enough of a jump forward with his athleticism that hoiberg wants to keep him around.

So many people want us to develop young talent but are shocked when it seems to be happening (if Hoiberg is not pursuing guys like that, you know it probably is).

This is the company that Cip works for. Thought I'd give them a plug.

So glowing it sounds like their moms could have written it.

But then only Cam Mack's mom would probably go that far.

Apple didn't fall to far from the tree.  Mommy was burning bridges with coaches earlier this year.  Kid ever grows up and realizes the world owes him nothing and to take responsibility for his mistakes he might be a decent player, the talent COULD be there.

I find this sad more than anything else.  Cam clearly hasn't figured out that bashing coaches publicly reflects poorly on you as the player more than it does on the coach.  Especially when the coaching staff gave you a half dozen second chances to change your behavior.

It can be a disadvantage to an NL team when you use the DH because they do not have that one dimensional player that just hits so they are forced to play their 9th best hitter to stack up against an AL DH which is one of their best hitters.

I thought of him as well, and of course, Mario Mendoza, the man that gave us the Mendoza line.

I see it the other way.  I like the idea of putting the manager on the spot to pull a pitcher in a close game for a pinch hitter or not which can also drain your bench for later in the game.  I find the sit and wait for a 3 run home run American League baseball boring.  To each there own I guess.  I just find it strange you would not want to watch an Ozzie Smith type glove man in the field as much as possible like you would want to see a DH come to bat 4 times a game. (Yes, I know Ozzie could hit, just could not think of another example because that person probably never got the chance because he could not hit)

Had heard 82-game regular season, then 14 teams in the post-season instead of the prior 10. I'm fine with whatever is implemented on a one year basis. It will be good to see some baseball played... I can only watch so much Korean Baseball. 😇

I hate the new rule that a reliever has to pitch to three batters minimum.  Takes the strategy out of managing as does the DH.
I know that there is more offense with the DH, but I am not sure it is as big a difference as baseball had hoped.
I hate the swing angle becoming a issue with at bats.  Way to many strikeouts in today's game.
Umpires should call the real strike zone and not waist to knees.
Traveling should be called as written - err wait wrong game.

Curmudgeon alert: This year will be a joke, however it is played, so none of the "records" should count as official stats. First, part of the pleasure of baseball is the joy of being allowed to ruminate during the many pauses in the action while letting the pitcher/batter strategies play out and to partake of a refreshment while enjoying the open air. Secondly, if the object is to get the game over with in the least amount of time, just let each pitcher batter encounter be limited to five minutes and then issue an automatic out or walk randomly and move on. When two hours has elapsed, the game is over and the team that is ahead wins. Oh, and any fans caught looking at their cell phones or taking  selfies must to submit to a murder- hornet enema.
