Berke went for 11-10 in a 2 pt loss to Belgium. A pass to Berke to try and get a final shot got deflected.

Berke looked to be running the offense on the court in terms of telling guys where to move. He was very verbal during and between plays. Looks like we got a good one here.

Without looking it up, I can't tell you the new athletic director's name.  To me, that's a good thing.  Do great things behind the scenes, don't mess with the good, quietly fix the not so good, wash, rinse and repeat.  That was never going to happen with Trev. Not necessarily his fault. He was always going to be in the spotlight, whether he wanted it or not.  I like our trajectory right now. Sometimes trades work out for both teams.

It seems that Trev is good at managing coaches: e.g., he hired Rhule and didn't fire Hoiberg, and all NU sports teams seemed to improve under his leadership.
But the business and change-management parts of the job are huge these days: and whether he is up to handling those parts remains to be seen.
    At Nebraska:
Trev was highly visible (as compared to Troy Dannen, who isn't)--whether that is a good thing or bad (or if they even let him do that) remains to be seen at Texas A&M; Trev's stadium expansion initiative will move forward at Nebraska--in a modified form--but it had some questionable elements, including the total cost and whether Husker Nation would get behind it; Trev had some odd views on NIL, which seems bizarre in this NIL-crucial environment; and Trev seems to want a large role in the rapidly-changing college sports world, but in his highly-visible role at Nebraska, he created more of an "Aw-Shucks" image than one of high-competence in that area of responsibility.

Great get and fans will love this kid’s motor.

He is very similar to Gary in being a special perimeter defender for his size and he has elite speed for a big.  Should be elite in rotations.  He’s a little light but a very physical player.

Offensively he’s solid as well—pretty versatile.  Good high release.

His weight prevents him from being a great rebounder but he’s not bad there either.  He 100% fills the 4 spot for depth.

It’s gonna suck to be the opposing team’s 4 and think you are getting a break with Gary on the bench only to bring in another dog to fight you.  We’ll be relentless at that spot.  Love this pickup.

I think we get that win we all have been waiting for next season.  I’ve never made that prediction before.  It’s a hell of a roster.

Exactly. Isn't it amazing how our 2023 HS recruiting class last year was #184 Eli Rice and NR Matar Diop...
And now a year later in retrospect our 2023 HS recruiting class is #36 Berke Buyuktuncel, #67 Gavin Griffiths.

I’m guessing Lue & Belcher might provide a “Soft Landing” for KT with the Clippers. He’d be an Instant Star ⭐️ in Hollywood.

However, one of the greatest things about this system is a kid who's under the radar and only gets recruited to a small school to play basketball. He's now able to earn his way into a P5 school much more easily than ever before and have a very successful collegiate career at the highest level.

I am not certain how things will go in this new environment, or if I will prefer this new model to the old one, but I also think that's irrelevant.  My opinion on the subject is not going to change one iota of how the landscape looks going forward.

But I do know that removing "amateurism" from the Olympics hasn't reduced its popularity one bit.  So, IMO, there is the strong likelihood that college sports will survive this paradigm shift just fine as well.

There has never been equity and equality between schools. Now it’s just happening on top of the table instead of underneath.
