  1. I wonder if we're pursuing Isnelle Natabou out of Iowa State.  Played at Iowa Western for a year, then transferred to Sacramento State (ranked 5th in NCAA in FG %, 11th in off rebounds per game, 28th total rebounds, 35th FG made, and 39th rebounds per game).  She's a junior from Czech Republic and she's 6'5".

what is going on at OSU?  Is there any known or reasonably plausible reason for all these players moving on?

No longer part of a power conference.  Want to play on a bigger stage.  Also possible the coach is thinking the same thing, although I haven't heard he's moving on yet.

    CC not doing good.

UConn doing a great job making her uncomfortable and forcing her into stupid mistakes and bad shots.  That being said, Iowa only down by 6.  If any of CC's teammates decide to show up, they can still win.

they are students. The away games during the regular season already keep them away from class so much.  This already could get worse with the addition of west coast teams and the resulting travel time.  Spreading out the tournament would require more sitting around hotels away from home time.  I am really not sure how other major conferences handle their tournaments, but maybe somebody else has figured it out.  Perhaps an alternative would be to have a tournament with just the top 8 teams from the regular season making only three games necessary to get a champion. But that really reduces revenue. All these factors, and more, interact with each other such that it's almost impossible to make one change without having to make others.

One of the weeks is typically spring break.  That's not the week we played the tourney.  Many girls were taking online exams the day of games during the B1G tournament.  Had there been a day between games, they could arrange to study/take exams on that day off.

I guess I'll be showing myself to the door because I agree with her.  I've always thought it ridiculous these games have to be played back-to-back-to-back(to back!).  That causes physical and mental fatigue, which can lead to serious injury.  Why not have a day between games?  Can the B1G bracket be staggered to make that happen?  IIRC, there are two weeks between the end of the season and the start of the NCAA tourney, why not spread these games out?

  6. I don't live in Nebraska and I haven't in years, but I do work for the university.  That being said, I don't think much of the governor getting involved in this when in his statement he notes he doesn't fully understand or know Alberts' reasons for leaving.  Lots of people are implying Trev didn't feel like he was getting the support he needed from higher ups.  In what capacity?  He was just given a massive raise and contract extension.  Could it be he doesn't like being questioned about certain things by the higher ups (such as the findings in the report released last fall about his time at UNO, and the Scoggin lawsuit)?  I will always be suspicious of people who expect blind loyalty.

As far as the change in leadership, we employees knew for a while Carter was leaving.  It takes time to hire a solid president.  Heck, it takes forever to even hire decent faculty in my department (often 1 or 2 years minimum, because it's difficult to recruit people to live in Nebraska).  My main department was without a chair for almost 4 years.  As far as the BoR being slow, they are actually still on course given past hires.  The last thing NU needs is to hire the wrong person as president.

  7. I absolutely would not be surprised if Scoggin's lawsuit has something to do with this.  It really doesn't paint Trev (or Williams) in a very positive light, and if even half of it went down the way it did, then this might be his way out.  I've seen far too many university faculty pull this same move (switching jobs to a different university) before a full Title IX investigation is done.

  8. Gonzaga beat by 1 point in conference championship game.  Does the committee take 2 from WCC?  Don’t believe Portland was ranked although their record isn’t bad.  Zaga ranked 14th.

That was a good listen.  Like that he pointed out the difference in reactions to fouls between us vs Ioa.

  10. TBH, I feel like even if we had hung on to win, Creme would still have us as an 8 seed trending upward, maybe a 7 seed.  I can totally see the committee making us a 9.  The only way to change perception is to get in the tourney and win a few games because, let's face it, we haven't been relevant in a long time.

Did Anyone just watch the Tennessee South Carolina game... how did Tennessee let the Carolina post catch the ball with no pressure to chuck up a 3 with 1 sec left.  I don't care if she has never made one. At a loss of words for Tennessee girls. Totally on the coach

Yeah, and that Tennessee coach looked like she was going to barf afterwards.

My wife said the announcers mainly talked Maryland, no Nebraska.  That's why I don't listen to announcers ever.

I didn't have the volume up the entire time at the end so maybe I missed it, but I noticed how they kept talking about what Maryland's seed would be in the NCAAs, but no mention of us even though we won the game.
