Navin R. Johnson got a reaction from Cazzie22 in 2024-25 Husker opponents
Michigan State beat Niagara 96-60. Frankie Fidler (B West, UNO) started and had 11 pts and 4 rbs in 18 minutes. State looks solid and played well together but might lack that one go to guy.
The game went about 15 minutes into the start of the Husker VB game against Oregon and my wife was complaining. I told her this is what it is like being a Husker basketball fan for about every TV game!

Navin R. Johnson got a reaction from HuscurAdam in uneblinstu's postgame chatter : vol 17; ed 1 - UTRGV
My thoughts after one game:
The hero ball talk and some guys going one on one I think are a combination of first game jitters but also the coaching staff knowing we would have mis-matches and telling the guys to exploit those. It's always a fine line between getting your points through your offense and not forcing but at the same time taking what they give you.
I never really feel Brice forces shots. He takes shots he can make. He obviously will be the go to guy, like Petteway a few years ago, and could put up big numbers but I don't see him scoring in the same way Petteway did.
I think the staff is not giving away any sets for Conner E yet, but I can see him getting the same treatment like KT did last year (as one poster pointed out) Brice is the consistent guy and CE can get hot in a heartbeat. If Conner is off, we need GG to hit shots. If both are off, we will struggle, if both are on we will be tough.
Meah is probably better coming off the bench but coach likes to get him a quick bucket off the tip with a low post iso. He ended up playing the same minutes as someone off the bench.
I like what Morgan gives us and like his aggressive play but he won't be able to power over people in the Big Ten like he did last night.
I hope the team starts to click soon as far a running the offense smoothly. Might have to play Sam a little more just to get the proper movement and back cuts.
Overall the team looks a bit slow but we are bigger. I have no idea how good we are (or bad we are) right now. We have a lot of potential and a lot of questions.

Navin R. Johnson got a reaction from cornfed24-7 in Huskers Picked #10 in Big Ten Conference Preview
Yup. A great example would be Indiana's football team. Where were all the expert predictions for them to be having the season they are?

I wonder if Coach H told the officials to make us play through contact.

I would think this would give Creighton an advantage over Nebraska in basketball NIL funding. It would be interesting to see the numbers and also a break down of how much NIL money every player in college sports receives.

We will go to California a few times now. Might help the cause.

Navin R. Johnson got a reaction from basketballjones in Red defeats White 66-50 in 2024 Pre-Season Scrimmage
Sounds good, thanks. I like switching since we will not really have a short guy on the floor (except Hoiberg who is pretty physical and will battle a switch miss match) and the match-up look should be effective with our added length.

Navin R. Johnson got a reaction from throwback in 2024-25 Husker opponents
Does everyone remember when Saturday during the winter months was college basketball day? I counted only 4 Saturday games this year for Nebraska! There are 11 Sundays, which I don't mind as it fits my schedule better but it really seems strange having such few Saturday games.

Don't think a secret scrimmage is a good marketing idea if you want to raise NIL money
