  1. I don't think we ever really saw him at full strength. Tough break.
  2. Then just say that! And get off of my lawn, damn kids.
  3. Is there some sort of decoder ring to decipher college kid's tweets?
  4. This is from Oregon's website on Altman. I think a lot of his success the 2 years before he went to Kansas State was because of a guy named Mitch Richmond. While head coach at Southeast Junior College in Fairbury, Neb., his first team (1982-83) rolled to a 29-6 record and a third-place finish in the junior college national tournament and Altman was honored as both Region 9 and the Nebraska College Coach of the Year.In 1983, Altman accepted the head coaching position at Moberly (Mo.) Junior College, with a three-year run resulting in a staggering 94-18 record (25-9 in 1983-84; 35-5 with a third-place finish at the national tourney in 1984-85; and a 34-4 mark in 1985-86 with a sixth-place finish at nationals). He was named Region 16 Coach of the Year in both the 1984-85 and 1985-86 seasons, and was also a finalist for 1986 National Junior College Athletic Association Coach of the Year accolades.
  5. I was going to say the same thing. I thought we played well, now we will see if we can bring the intensity on the road with us. The trouble is that our defense is so bad that we cannot count on a stop at the end of a game, in fact it seems like it is automatic that the other team will score in the clutch and we probably won't. Maybe if we had Trey back to guard a Frazier we might have a chance.
  6. That reminds of an interview a reporter had with Cornbread Maxwell. He said the Celtics were pretty dorsal that night. Kevin McHale said "yes Cornbread, We did play like fish tonight but I think docile is the word you are looking for"
  7. I think you bring him back. The roster looks like it will turnover quit a bit either way and although it looks bad now, you can turn basketball around faster than say football. The part that is most concerning is the effort or lack there of by the players.
  8. I can send you my resume if you need an assistant. Not real strong in the recruiting area, but that has been the case for a while now. I might do it just for the courtside seats!
  9. Thought we competed pretty well. We looked good when State was turning the ball over. Although we did force some of those. Second half the shots didn't fall and we reverted back to our old bad habits. Not a terrible performance on the road against the number ten team in the nation.
  10. Creighton did find a way to the Sweet 16 but to me they were not close to the team I watched for most of that season. They probably should have been beaten if that last shot by UC Santa Barbara falls which looked like it was going to. They played okay the next round but caught a huge break when Ohio pulled off the first round upset and then got drilled by Gonzaga. You could only think the negative publicity had something to do with it.
  11. Shouldn't that be called the Haymarket Hardwood as well? (Sorry)
  12. Yup. I believe we gave them a chance to surrender before we dropped it. Don't think we told them we had the bomb though.
  13. My father was in the Navy in WWII. Took part in the battle of Leyte Gulf to retake the Philippines. Would have been involved in the attack on Japan had they not dropped the bomb. You can argue the need to drop the atomic bomb or not, but I'm not sure I would be here today if they didn't.
  14. If he was not tweeting about the Huskers, I owe him an apology. (poor timing though) If he was tweeting about Nebraska, he made a poor choice as a coach.
  15. There are some big name players skipping bowl games this year for fear of being injured thus hurting their draft status. Can anyone remember a college basketball player doing the same thing to his team during the NCAA tournament in March? Just another reason March Madness is superior to the bowl system. I don't think anyone has left his team that made the final 4 football playoffs, yet. I just don't get the excitement that surrounds a football game that is basically meaningless. Here are the names thus far: College football players skipping bowl games Oregon DE Kayvon Thibodeaux Arkansas WR Treylon Burks SMU WR Reggie Roberson SMU WR Danny Gray Notre Dame S Kyle Hamilton Notre Dame RB Kyren Williams Michigan State RB Kenneth Walker III West Virginia RB Leddie Brown Pitt QB Kenny Pickett
  16. Can we demand that he change his first name then, or is that Creighton's job? (or UNO)
