  1. I guess the last thing you want to happen with a coach you want to fire is for him to catch fire at the end of the year.
  2. Duke gets the win but Wake is good. Looked like a tournament team to me.
  3. Minnesota pulled a Nebraska. They were up 17 with under 15 minutes left at Iowa and could not do anything right down the stretch and lost . Dawson-Garcia had 18 and 7 before leaving with an injury with 15 minutes left. Penn State played Northwestern tough. They are a scrappy group.
  4. Anyone see the Creighton game last night? I forgot it was on because of course the Husker game was on and when I remembered it was middle of 2nd half so I tapped it and watched it after NU. Providence won 91-87 in OT and the officials would not call a foul, on anything! Both teams had fouls to give late into the overtime. It was like they said "well, we haven't called anything yet, we can't start now" I also realized that Providence is a bubble team we probably want to lose and Creighton winning helps us. I just can't root for them. Traudt hardly plays for them now and they really only play 6 guys with their "big 3" hardly coming off the floor. It will be interesting to see if they wear down as we hit the home stretch. Okay, enough about Creighton.
  5. If only the basketball team had to have a .500 record to make the tournament.
  6. Kansas State with a big win over Kansas in OT.
  7. When I looked at it I thought 846 was the 9-12 enrollment. Take out 1/4 that puts them about 635 which is class B in NE. There are only about 4 schools below 1000 in class A for a 3 grade enrollment.
  8. Those are some big time numbers. I believe Pewaukee plays in the 2nd biggest division in Wisconsin. Probably a class B school in Nebraska.
  9. Good to see he is already beating Omaha affiliations
  10. I think you may be right. Looking at statistics the visitors do have an advantage. I would not have thought that. Although it is still a small sample size at this point.
  11. I don't care for the rule myself. I do think it favors the home team as they know how many runs to play for. The visitor can be aggressive but if you don't score by choosing not to bunt the man over it gives the home team a huge advantage.
  12. Borrowed this from @hskr4life AP Top 10 teams are now 17-27 (38.6%) this season on the road against unranked opponents. College Basketball is a completely different sport than it has been in the past... 18-19: 73.3% 19-20: 66.1% 20-21: 58.9% 21-22: 61.2% 22-23: 59.8%
  13. Young will be a tough guard and Maryland defends pretty well.
  14. I forgot about the last at bat in baseball. Very much an advantage especially since MLB changed the extra innings format.
  15. We obviously know that all sports teams play better at home rather than on the road. (we really know that so far this year with NUBB) Is home court advantage in college basketball more important than any other sport? I believe it is. I think when you include the crowd being right on you in basketball and being familiar with your court for a skill like shooting the basketball outweighs all other sports. I also think college kids thrive on that stuff more than the pros so I would put college basketball ahead of the NBA for home court advantage importance. Baseball fans might argue that the stadium layout could give a home team an advantage over other sports and football fan could argue that the crowds are larger and thus more noise but when you combine them both, I would go with college hoops. (I don't follow soccer or hockey close enough to make a call there) What do you think? (and lets get that tough road win at Maryland this week)
  16. Yup. My biggest concern on a team's scouting report is "they hit the offensive boards well"
  17. So, let the Tim Miles to DePaul rumors start up?
  18. With the hotbed of talent in Chicago how can DePaul not be better than what they are? I know many on this board can remember the good teams they had in the 80's and 90's.
  19. Penn State knocks off Wisconsin 87-83. It is difficult to win on the road in the Big Ten.
  20. My favorite Jersey band (Honorable Mention to My Chemical Romance)
  21. Oh, so that is what you call them. I have heard different terms for them.
  22. One hand up for me. I remember being on the road for a high school basketball game when I heard the score on the radio. Can't remember who we played.
