AuroranHusker got a reaction from Five in Transfer Portal 2023
Nebraska is one of the few who can show him tape of a dude in a similar role with Dalano Banton and Sam Griesel as taller PGs for the Huskers. That alone might work in our favor, and we have an open slot in the starting lineup up for grabs. It could be a great fit for all parties involved. GBR

From SI:
Sharavjamts was measured at a quarter of an inch shy of 6-foot-9 at the Nike Hoop Summit, with an 8-foot-8 standing reach. The measurements are certainly intriguing for someone with the potential to shoot from the perimeter and run your offense on a primary level.
***
The intrigue and buzz has a lot to do with his unique combination of skills and size. At nearly 6-foot-9, he can play as a jumbo point guard who is not just able to create for teammates, but also to space the floor with tremendous consistency, being a threat from beyond the 3-point line.

AuroranHusker got a reaction from Bugeaters1 in 2023 Baseball
I wonder why Corbin Hawkins "retired" from baseball. . . he was a pretty salty reliever this season. Must be graduating or something else?

Keisei made 20 straight when he arrived at Nebraska, right off the plane. He still had his bag on him. He's a legend.

AuroranHusker got a reaction from Silverbacked1 in 2023 Regional
Not that it matters, but I played small college ball & we often stayed in whatever housing was available on-campus for our longer road trips. It added to the experience, but maybe that's just me. Div. 1 athletes probably aren't used to being subjected to some 'brutal' treatment. 😉

Wow - the NCAA gave Iowa a reasonable path to the Supers by putting them in Terre Haute - they got a better draw than Maryland somehow ... and a better draw by quite a bit. Maryland got the "Nebraska" treatment from 2021 - win the regular season title and get sent to the #1 overall seed.
Iowa did get a tougher 1st game (N Carolina) than Maryland (N'eastern), but N'eastern has a stud #1 pitcher that could give Maryland fits in the opener.
Don't think Indiana has any chance at the Kentucky regional.
Not sure why they put UConn & Texas Tech in #2 Florida's regional, but the Gators can't be happy. (Tech did fade a bit over the back half of the year, but they're really good when playing at the top of their game.) LSU at #5 didn't get a lot of favors, either, otherwise the bracket looks pretty fairly balanced.

Nate Johnson pull-up J to defeat CU 71-70 in Omaha in the first round of the '04 N.I.T. That had been the last win over CU in Omaha for Nebraska, until Dec. 2022, when Sam Griesel, Juwan Gary, and Derrick Walker led NU to a 63-53 win.

AuroranHusker reacted to throwback in B1G Tournament
Pretty much a microcosm of the season, just seemed like we were always one or two plays short the entire season, and we were about 5 feet short on that final swing from Max.
That clutch gene that the 2021 team had everywhere ... this team never quite found it.
Bats just never got rolling in Omaha, although we hit quite a few balls hard today at least, unlike Thursday and Friday. MD made some great defensive plays and took advantage of 2 or 3 at'em balls.
Really disappointing on one level because MD was ripe for the picking this week. They were very beatable in all 3 games they played, but we and MSU couldn't take advantage. Really disappointing on another level because we will not make the NCAA in a season with 2 Top 5 round draft picks on the infield and potentially 2 other draft picks starting Friday & Saturday on the mound.
A step forward from last year, but I think this coaching staff is still feeling its way in the B1G. Looking at another pretty big roster turnover going into next year.
Have to upgrade the schedule next season and place a greater emphasis on winning in the midweek.

Yeah, Nebraska obviously didn't trust more than 5 arms, it felt like by the end of the year. And that might be stretching it, even...

One ought to realize that Brice is hurt, and possibly, injured, even. Fools on social media never understand that...

Yep. Dylan Carey could be a key cog to 2024 if he gets his bat in order. GBR

Even when NU gets runners on base, it never feels like they'll actually take advantage of the situation. Starting pitcher Savacool is completely in control for MD.

Max Anderson is the first player in the country with 100 hits. Impressive. He's hitting .418.

What a bounce back after what happened last night. Walsh gave us everything we needed and more.
Columbus can play on my team any time. That dude is a gamer.
The bats have to, have to, have to show up tomorrow for the first game. This park plays waaaaaaay different during daylight. Expect that it'll take double figures to win that first game.
If we can get to game number two and depending on how game one goes, also wouldn't surprise me if Olson gets the start. Let's hope the coaches have a chance to make that decision.

What a way to finish off a shutout with 3 K's in the final inning. Final guy is a .400 hitter. GBR

After NU didn't catch the foul ball pop up, I had a weird feeling that would spell doom. It did. A 2-1 loss in 10th inn. on a walk-off HR. Bummer. Need to re-group quickly while Maryland gets yet another day off, must be nice to be the #1 seed.
