  1. Always good to knock down Kenny P. And, yes, Fever does a mighty fine job each year. The recap at the end is the best to see how the history stacks up, dimes is lapping the field in top tens. I'm up to 4, with an 11th place finish back in Freddy's 1st yr. still holding me back from that top 4-or-5 in the league all-time. Oh well, still a fun journey. I'd be interesting in learning the HOF: all-time top 20's @HuskerFever.
  2. I seem to do better when NU does better, I have a hard time pickin' against NU. Finished 6th, had been top 3 but my heart took me down 3 notches, it is what it is. GBR Always.
  3. It's fun to talk about a return of KT30, but I highly doubt that it happens. In fact, NU needs to assume he's not there... and somehow find a way to make room if he suddenly becomes a 6th super-duper senior. I wouldn't hate it, but I ain't losin' sleep over it occurring. Man, what a concept: Language as an obstacle. It's not the worst argument, especially at a remote JUCO with Billy 'Clyde' Gillespie as his coach, who should elicit empathy from the wonks for the kid already.... dare to dream. lol
  4. Finding one's identity is certainly a take. Building off one's success is another take. Honing the team around the best of the best we just saw in Memphis seems more than prudent. No one's saying that NU will completely change the paradigm. A slight adjustment needs to be made, that's why I say that Juwan is likely replaceable more than BRICE or RIENK. NU needs a dude or two who can unequivocally get a bucket at the rim, often that wasn't Juwan. Allick tried to be a dude, but a few times he just seemed to fall slightly short of that task. Not due to effort or anything inherently wrong. Elite athleticism can be coupled with elite shot-making and elite passing. They're not mutually exclusive. I think Fred & Co. will find a way to make the team better and more athletic at certain spots. Obviously Keisei was a unique guy, so maybe NU needs a 6'-5" shooter who doesn't have to take such difficult shots because the taller, more athletic dude can just rise up & shoot it.
  5. Now, that is easier said than done, but Fred's 29-14 in his past season+9 gm. I think the proof will be in the puddin'! I hope there's a B1G plan to achieve greatness. Anything less will be uncivilized.
  6. Who won't like it.... old blue-hairs probably aren't setting the tone of how the new regime will operate, I'm just spitballin' here... maybe they still have some pull, but I doubt it.
  7. Seeing Ward Taylor IV shoot 5 for 26 in their 2nd game, and yet the Ags still went to OT vs #1 Houston was even more impressive, tbh.
  8. Colorado has a dude from NE, can't recall (or spell) his name at this hr. He seemed to have some game in March Madness.
  9. The odds are in his favor, it's going to be a Perkins-Ulis-Brice trifecta at the lead guard....
  10. Picking up garbage........ that's my best guess.
  11. He was the most impressive dude in the Omaha bracket. I saw his father in the hallway, and gave them all major props for the baller his son was!!! Holy moly!!!
  12. Big fan of Eli Rice, NU needed him to bounce back in 2023-24. That was a HUGE hit, he could have been an X-factor.
  13. Time will tell... I will say that during the team send-off from the Sheraton, only Ahron Ulis & Ramel Lloyd Jr. slipped out the side... and Eli Rice left way before the key cogs, a documentary was essentially being filmed if history had, indeed, been made that night at FedEx Forum. I suppose the writing was on the wall, btw, C.J. Wilcher left soon thereafter (after Eli Rice). He had less of a smile on his mug than Blaise Keita, for instance. None of this is trustworthy 'scoop'-like info, it's just my very uneducated opinion... just to be clear. It was an noticeable difference in how they left the hotel between rotational stalwarts and the others, that's all I'm saying...
  14. Ware was an obvious one. He was pretty good, probably a better fit at the next level, tbh.
  15. An all-lefty lineup would be something... have one righty off the bench for a change-of-pace.
  16. Ergo, it tells me Brice Williams will be back next season with the Big Red.
  17. I foresee Chuck Taylor being a 1st rd. draft pick.... is that better?
  18. Hindsight's 20/20. Let's see how the rest shakes out. Need to re-recruit that productive Brice - Juwan - Rienk trio as much as hitting the portal, tbh.
  19. A lot of similar discussion is occurring in the 2024 Portal Watch thread.
  20. That baseline jumper in the Big Ten tourney was beautiful. And he achieved a top-of-the-key three the same day that Zach Edey finally did, and both teams won 85-70 on that same night. If Diop does even a 1/3rd of an Edey next season, we'd all be very pleased!
  21. Yes, we do. Especially Brice & Rienk. We can fit pieces around those 2 in particular the best. Not that I want Juwan to go, don't confuse that. I just believe he can replaced easier than those other two. GBR Always.
