I was just asking didn't mean to ruffle your feathers. Like I said, I'm hoping it doesn't come to that. So that is the conundrum Moos faces. Hire another smaller program coach and save money or go after a big name and offer lots of money? The reason I brought up Wright and Martin was because I was surprised at their salaries. And guessing behind the scenes there have been overtures made to Wright to take over other programs for a substantial raise since he has 2 championships to his credit. I'd just as soon concentrate on this season and this team with Miles coaching.

If Miles does get fired do you throw $3.5-4 million at Jay Wright (currently making $2.56 million at 'Nova) or Frank Martin (currently making $2.85 million at S. Carolina)? Would think with names like that the recruit loss would be minimal. Thought there were reports a year or two ago that Martin was possible candidate when Miles was on hot seat. Actually hoping this a moot point and Miles gets NU to the Big Dance and wins a couple.

Lots of uniformed "experts". Make sure your neck muscles are loose and strong because you will spend lots of time reading those tweets shaking your head. Probably the same thing a lot, if not most of you do after reading my posts.

Wouldn't be the same one that was laughing with Bohannon following a timeout soon after they called the charge on Allen? -

Glynn was the one I noticed with the poor body language late. And you nailed it on his 4th foul. Almost a I'd rather be on the bench than play right now. -

Is lack of depth already making this team tired? Wonder if that is why defense is lacking right now. Didn't like body language late in game by a couple players. Hopefully it was more of disappointment with the how things were going at that point. Frustrated that Huskers didn't attack the zone defense or the press. The high lobs breaking press back and forth were begging to get stolen at some point. And just like the zone offense how about a pass and cut. And I think Watson could've broken it down press with his dribble and created some lob/dish off chances. Time to pull up the boot straps and beat Penn St. If players were mad after Maryland loss they should be extremely P'O'ed after this showing. -

Losing rebound battle big time. They have more defensive than we have total. Of course Watson was up against Garza on one of them. -

Tough to make mid range shots when you don't take any. -

Anybody got a made shot chart? Seems like Iowa either made lay up or a 3...not anything farther than 4 foot out to 3 point line. -

4 guys standing around 3 point line and big on the block. Put somebody at the elbow so they have to guard the middle. Same as press break. put someone in the middle. -

Nebraska High School Basketball (18-19)

As stated earlier I too agree with fewer classes competing. But would that also lead to more co-ops/consolidations? Not sure how the classifications would be handled? But wouldn't there be a bigger discrepancy from the top and bottom of 2 lower classes than we currently see in D-1 and D-2 now? The bottom is going to be the same, a school with 13 boys in high school. While the top end will go higher, thus creating a bigger enrollment difference from top to bottom. And that small school may want to join another school so as to make up for that difference. The NSAA may have to expand classes A and B to help if the class reduction did occur. And back in November there was a proposal to form a study to see what the impact would be of adding a 9-man football class. If that were formed I'm guessing it would make 3 11-man classes, 1 9-man class, 1 8-man class and 1 6-man class. Not sure what that would do to basketball or other sports classificationwise. -

Copeland scored 8 points on 3-4 shooting including 2-2 from 3 point range. Would've had 12 had he been able to see and a Watson pass not quite getting to him on an alley-opp.. So disagree with him being a no-show. He didn't get opportunities to be an offensive threat tonight. This team is really good when they are unselfish on offense. Palmer took 10 of the 22 3-pointers, making 3 while rest of team was 6-12. He also took 19 of the 51 shots overall. Yes he needs to take most of the shots but he is more dangerous if teams have to play defense on other 4 players on the floor. Borchardt was 4-4 because of unselfish play. Beat Iowa!! -
Right now I am just focusing on Maryland. Just try to keep going 1-0.

Winning the games you are expected to win helps. I don't recall all the bad non conference losses last year but Big 10 teams losing to Canisius, Stony Brook, Robert Morris and IUPUI (think couple of those are right) killed the RPI which couldn't be overcome by playing those poor RPI conference teams. Last years conference weakness is replaced with conference strength this year.

Huskers sit at 10-2. 7 wins by 20+ points, 1 by 19, 1 by 15 and 1 by 2 points. I can't ever remember any Nebraska team beating teams by these types of margins ever. And with that giddiness I wish everyone a very Merry Christmas. -
Nebraska High School Basketball (18-19)
rr52 replied to Huskerpapa's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
Is this an opinion or are there facts to back it up? Like I said I'm not against it. Just present solid evidence that it helps the game of basketball and isn't for making the "fan experience" better. -

Not against a high school shot clock but not sure how forcing a bad team to shoot more makes the game better? What are you trying to accomplish by going to a shot clock? If it's making the game more entertaining for the fan that is the wrong reason, I believe. It needs to be done to make the game itself better. Could maybe see Classes A, B, C-1 try it experimentally and see how it works. Heard that it costs $5,000/basket. And like huskerpapa said there are other concerns which includes the officiating/running it part. There is already a shortage of basketball refs and having Craig the service tech from the local pivot dealership downtown may not be the best answer. And as soon as he messes up once the opposing fans will be watching the rest of the night and let him know when he does it again. -
I missed most of the 1st half but did get to watch 2nd half. OSU had nobody that could guard James. And when James is looking for open teammates the offense is fun to watch. His pass to Tanner for easy bucket was nice to see as was the quick flip to Roby that turned into 3 point play. Thomas Allen seems tp get better every game. If he continues to hit outside shots that will stress lots of defenses. Copeland looks very comfortable taking those mid range jumpers and continues to put up nice numbers without getting noticed for it.
