  1. Never figured out what the deal is of watching 35-38 minutes of basketball and leave when game is in doubt. I think I have left early once and that was because there was heavy snow forecast and I have an hour 20 drive ahead of me. And even then I waited until there was a minute and a half left in the game and NU had a double digit lead. I noticed something on the Roby play which I missed in live action. The Wisconsin player pulls him down trying to draw the charge.
  2. Thanks, just checked CBSports and see they have Minnesota away.
  3. I just went to check OSU's schedule (on espn) the rest of the way and noticed that they have 10 home conference games (Mich, MSU, Maryland, Minny, NU, PSU, Indiana, Illinois, Iowa and Rutgers) and 8 away (Wiscy, Iowa, Rutgers, N'western, Purdue, PSU, Mich and Indiana). So I figured something was amiss at espn so I went to OSU website and it shows same thing. Am I missing something, not seeing something right, not adding things up? I've checked both a couple times.
  4. Playing 4 of last 5 at home should provide opportunity for a strong finish. And that away game is at Illinois. At Minnesota is game before that stretch so hopefully Gophers haven't figured out how to play without Lynch by then. And it isn't out of realm of possibility that NU could 8-1 to finish the season. Can't believe I just typed that last sentence.
  5. Well, espn does not see much success ahead for the Huskers. And yes I do realize things will change. And not sure how often they update their win probability figures but they only have NU's % greater than 50% in 5 games. (Wisc-57.4%, Ill-65.7%, Iowa-58.3%, Rutgers-75.0% & Ind-67.1%) They seem to like Penn St. giving NU a 15.4% chance at Penn St. and only have NU at 45.3% when the 2 teams meet in Lincoln at end of season. Not saying Huskers will win 10 more games but I think NU will win closer to 10 than only 5. On a side note, Rutgers got the bad deal on scheduling. The Scarlet Knights 5 teams they get to play twice are MSU, Purdue, tOSU, Maryland and Nebraska.
  6. Good thing I didn't watch this game or there would've been some busted household items. I listened to Kent & Ben on the radio and just had the feeling the reffing may be a bit slighted when Kent said who was reffing and said DJ Cartensensensensen (maybe there were only 3 "sens") but he said it in a somewhat sarcastic tone. But he also did say that it was good crew. Now this team needs to figure out a way to win 8 of the 14 remaining games with 8 of those being at home. I think it is very possible this team wins 9 but don't hold me to that prediction. On a side note TV Teddy Valentine, per CBSports, is contemplating retirement following his incident(or non-incident in his quote). He was scheduled to do Big 10 games this weekend but was pulled off those assignments.
  7. Okay, so as an NU basketball fan, what do I want to see? Hypothetically speaking let's say the Huskers get to 11-7 in conference play and that gets them the #4 seed. How do I want the rest of the teams seeded lower than NU to finish? Would it be better to have 5 or 6 teams bunched up with 7-10 wins or have those wins spread out in seeds 5-12?
  8. The problem I see with NU's big's is twofold. Not only are they no real threats to score (Borchardt does appear to be able to catch the ball and make a shot) but they clog the lane and the man guarding them doesn't have to leave the paint to defend them. When Roby and Copeland played at same time it really opened up the middle because NW's bigs had to vacate the lane defensively and it opened things up for blow by dunks by Palmer and Copeland. It also creates openings for offensive rebounds as well. It's a heckuva lot easier to just turn and check somebody out 4 feet from the basket then to try find and then box out Roby or Copeland 17 feet from the hoop. There is also the chance for a kick out 3 if help gets there from the guards. But I do think Jordy needs to be the starter and maybe he finds his mojo.
  9. BTW does Tshimanga translate to stagnant? Because that's what appears to happen when he is in the game. I attribute it to him and/or his defender clogging the lane for drives and possible kick outs.
  10. Guess that means I'm not allowed to follow along on here. Once I closed out and followed on CBSsports the good NU showed. I've learned my lesson. But will miss the in game commentary.
  11. I wanted to ask Steratore if he brought his index card to check on how close guys were to the free throw line when shooting them but figured no use possibly making him mad.
  12. Maybe starting Roby over Jordy would wake him up. I don't expect big numbers out of JTsh but a few rebounds and a blocked shot or 2 isn't asking too much. And why not foul Azubuike and see if he can make a ft instead of just letting him dunk on you all night? There are 10 fouls to use on him. As for Eades, Eades and Wells their parents should be very disappointed in their performance last night. I think when Roby drove with about 2 and half minutes left Azubuike gave him a hip that should've been called a foul. And there are at least 6 other instances that were blatant missed calls. As for rest of year there is no reason this team should lose a game at home the rest of the way. Win all of them and get 2 conference games on the road and that puts NU at 11 conference wins and 20 total. Unless there is a complete meltdown in conference tourney that is worth an NCAA tourney bid. Of course every time I get all positive it seems like it turns out to put a jinx on things. But I also feel with the experience and amount of upperclassmen on this team they can and will handle adversity.
  13. If you put together a top 10 of the worst officiating calls (fouls only) on this season, the one on Watson today and the one on Roby against Minnesota have to be top 5. Not sure what officials see sometimes but it sure seems like the Huskers are on the wrong side about 98% of the time.
  14. TM probably figured any argument would result in in multiple technical fouls the way things had gone.
  15. Need this type of effort in the B10. Lots of winnable games if it happens.
  16. McVeighs inability to guard an office chair hurt. Cu took advantage.
  17. No problem with the zone but need to try and get a trap out of it if you do it.
  18. Barely touched him but the flopper made it look like a sniper got him.
  19. With all the switching they are doing there has to be decent match up somewhere.
  20. Lots of fadeaway shots today. Not a recipe for success.
  21. Not sure Duby is a decent option. Not an offensive threat and Cu will just pull him away from basket to negate his shot blocking.
