Murrell's touches in 4th qtr were limited and not sure why. He finished with 11 point on 5-5 fg's.

Vedral with 13:13 to go in 1st half after Easley and Thorir collide and both have to leave game.

Huskers were 5-8 on ft's at one point in the game. So they made 3 of their last 22?!?! For those scoring at home that's a whopping 13.63%.
I may try to shoot 30 tomorrow and report my results.

Cheatham 2-8 from the field and I have him 1-6 on lay-ups.
-
Very impressive group of talent. And to think many of them are just juniors and sophomores.

Man, great effort and fight. Really, really wish Cam would have flipped it to Cheatham when all 5 Terps collapsed on him. Felt like it would have been fitting for Cheatham to win it after his impressive 2nd half. Oh well, hard to fault Cam too much and I'd much rather have someone willing to take the last shot and miss than shrink in the moment.
If only we could show this fight each game!!!
Agree with kick out but don't blame Cam one bit. Thor broke to basket but a kick to him for corner 3 to win also possible.

HE WASS!!
Real time looked like it but think he got re-established.

Smith was out of bounds!!

3 starters a combined 1-17 from the field...ouch

Seems like teams are figuring out how to play defense against us. Chase shooters off the 3 pt line and have a big to defend the rim.
-
It didn't seem slow down Grayson Allen. And with so many camera's and angles it is pretty tough to get away with stuff like that. The threat of being caught should be a deterrent but he just keeps doing it. The one where he tries to slide his foot under Jordan Murphy coming down with a rebound, is the worst, I think. That could've been a severe injury situation.

Our defensive scheme seems fine; our defensive execution is piss poor. Sorry for the bluntness, but good lord a player or two breaks down nearly every play. It lead to wonder if we were attempting to stop penetrating guards, defend the perimeter shot or plugging the middle to stop the bigs.
Having a shot blocker in the middle may help erase some mistakes, but each player needs to step it up...cause we don't have that eraser.
Just to rant a bit, our group of talent seems to struggle with execution with most of what we do. You gotta hit free throws; you have to finish at the rim; you have to hit your open perimeter shots; et al.
Sure most if not all have seen the clip of Tampa Bay Buccaneer head coach John McKay when asked about his teams execution. His reply was somewhere along the lines of he was all for it.

37 points last night. 10-11 from the line and 5-8 from the perimeter.
Season stats: 32.3 ppg. 7.4 rpg
3 pt: 43-98 (44%)
FT: 125-137 (91.2%)
And he is playing 23-24 minutes a game.

The last shot they showed of the play from a different angle showed they solidly hit Burke on the shooting elbow.
Shooting elbow or left elbow? Defender was on Burke's left side.

Tired legs, so their shots were off. You know - that "grueling" travel stretch they were in. 3 games in the last 2 weeks (Iowa City, Philadelphia, Lincoln) and all their other games in the last month either in Iowa or states that border Iowa.
Grueling. Simply grueling.
And don't forget the Adidas basketballs. And only 8 scholarship players available (even though Nebraska played 7 scholarship players and 1 walk on).
And bad reffing. They think Garza was getting mugged while they would get called for "touch fouls". They think the officials are always out to get them. I know fans of most teams think the refs are always against their teams, but these jackholes take it to a new level.
An Iowa fan is the worst fan in college sports. They suck.
So I went to to a couple Io_a message boards just seeing how bad it was. (Not sure why I put myself through it.) You actually are being somewhat kind in your assessment.

Green and Kavas went to check in during second half and were sitting at scorers table with about 8 minutes left (7:56). Think that is when Easley grabbed loose ball on the floor and called timeout and evidently HCFH thought the extra length of time out gave the guys on the floor a good enough rest. Hopefully someone can clarify but think the time out was longer because it coincided with the "under 8" timeout?

Not sure if it had anything to do with being down 13 to Rutgers at halftime but Jervay seemed less than interested while warming up for 2nd half. I seen him shoot 2 times while lazily dribbling at 3 point line and take couple steps in and shoot 17 footer off of 1 foot. He spent last minute of warm up holding basketball underneath basket talking to other players. I have no issue with his minutes being cut back.
And got to talking with friends beside me and things will be much different and better next year with Blanton, Walker, Stephenson and Allen coming in. Or least that is the eternal Nebraska basketball optimist coming out in me.

Wasn't this guy on Seinfeld?
Oh my bad that was Pat Mayo.

There was a video clip of Sallis making the rounds on Twitter from his game last night. He puts a move on a guy in the backcourt and the defender looks like he hit a patch of ice and goes down. It happened right in front of the Millard North student section and they go crazy. Sallis then continues down court and makes great pass to a teammate who finishes with a dunk. So hoping he wants to continue his basketball career for the Huskers.

Allen averaged 7 points, 2.7 rebounds and .5 assists per game for a West Virginia team that got beat 90-78 in the Sweet 16 by eventual national champ Villanova. He averaged 11.9 minutes per game. I have no issues with him being a Husker but would believe he would be on a short leash for off court issues if they arose.

That would be pretty ticky tack. Stupid former Loper
John Gaffney was the ref that made the call. So picking on an esteemed Loper alum will get overlooked at this time. ;)

Most people might remember Yinka Dare but I was always more of a fan of Timberwolves great Mike (the Brown Bear ) Brown. I had a GF that was an alum as well, so one of my small claims to fame is having sex in the Gelman Library...
That reminds me of the Seinfeld episode where George has sex with the cleaning lady. "Is that frowned upon?"

Does anybody think that there is chance that door reopens to bring Williams in?
