He released Alihodzic 20 days after he was hired. Miles likes to build programs from the ground up, and by ground, I mean he likes to set the bar so low that he has nowhere to go but up. We paid for it last year and are again this year and probably will next year. But in the long run, hopefully things get better. Let's just say I don't think our roster needed to be as bad as it was last year. Miles wasn't building for last year or this year, he's looking 2-3 years down the road, as frustrating as it may be. Although I don't see how Sergej, now 5 games into his sophomore season, fits into the plan.

We have no chance to beat Creighton. McDermott can probably score as many points as he wants to in that one.

I wouldn't say we have the talent to beat anyone...our only big man is 6-8. I don't count Pitchford as a big man because he is terrible on defense and doesn't play in the post on offense. With that lack of size, we're going to get abused by teams with good inside play, i.e. most Big Ten teams.

Exactly. We are a bunch of individuals right now. At times we string together some good plays, but for the most part, no one seems to have any idea what the other teammates on the floor are going to do. Especially on the defensive end.

I think he's played about everyone worth a poop...and I haven't seen anyone who wants to get stops. Maybe Benny Parker, but he's like 5-7.

Why did Miles release Fahro...and then bring in Sergej? Looking really foolish right about now. serge was a pretty highly rated prospect. We also missed out on a lot of big men recruits. the way UAB is getting layups every possession, it'd be cool to have a 7-footer at the rim to, you know, stop them. If Sergej can't play on THIS team with 1 post player, when will he ever?

Not trying to get pissy, but for the life of me, how can people have access to post on a message board but not have access to ESPN, CBS, etc., to look up the score...

I love Miles as much as the next guy, but this team is seriously undisciplined right now...like they make the football team look smart. Same stuff we saw yesterday. Need to get through to these guys somehow. I know we're young, but come on. Some of these mistakes and lack of hustle are junior high stuff.

Was that the second foul on TP? What did he do? Nothing, thus the worst call ever. One could argue that he didn't turn around to box out his man on the shot. Instead he fronted him up. But it was a total BS call. The shot was made, the UAB player half-heartedly jogged toward the basket and Petteway half-heartedly got in his way. Basketball is stupid now. But I will say, our guards need to start learning to not bump the ball handlers 30 feet from the basket. Come on guys.

I'd say Miles worst mistake so far in his short time at Nebraska was releasing Alihodzic from his scholarship when he first got here. Ugh.

So this team can apparently go 3-4 minutes without scoring just like every Husker team of the past decade. However, unlike every Husker team of the past decade, they can also apparently put up 10 points in less than 2 minutes.

Announcer calls that UAB play solid defense? That was a foul on us yesterday 100% of the time...

Once you call something one time, you have to call it the rest of the time to be consistent. It was like a comedy of whistles yesterday. They called tiny stuff in the opening minutes, so you know both coaches were working the officials all game to call stuff all game on both ends.
