OK, so I'm obviously not serious about this poll.  I think this is far and away the best sports-related board I've ever posted on and, really, the best board of any sort with one possible exception.
 
It's not because of me.  My large post count is not a reflection of how valuable I see myself but rather how much I enjoy the company here.  We have a broad range of personalities and lots of people who add little things to the overall discussion.  And when people disagree, they mostly do it in a respectful fashion and nobody tends to get their knickers in a twist over much of anything.
 
Aside from a few Creighton fans, the moderators aren't kept very busy breaking up fights and cleaning up the mess afterward. 
 
Not everyone can be the insider.  A board cannot function if everyone wants to be or thinks that only insiders provide value to the board.  People who don't know jack squat about basketball can contribute a great deal here even if it's only a one-liner here and there.
 
I started this thread because of some recent comments from some people suggesting there's been a lot of (or a little) stupidity around here lately.  That may be, by HHC standards, anyway.  But we're so much better off than some other boards that can't hold a single conversation without it devolving into some pissing contest between board factions.
 
I sure hope this board never goes that direction.  A big shout out to the mods for being generally awesome.  Not trying to suck up.  Just sayin' it 'cause it's true.
 
And, lastly, I want to stress I didn't post this to troll for green up arrows.  Please don't up arrow this post.  If you want to down arrow it, that's cool.  But I'm not doing this just to get a bunch of people to up arrow me.  While I may have the most posts, I don't think this board is about me.  One thing I think is great about it is all the unique vantage points that people approach being a fan from.  And share with the rest of us here.  It's ALL the folks who participate who make this such a great board.

Our press break was, honestly pitiful.  The little ring around the rosy we would do before cutting was obviously not working on Craft and Della Vagina (I think that's how you spell it...).  Would have liked to see us maybe try something different.....like at all.  A simple 4 across would have worked.  Really unless Leslie was in, any of our players can reasonably handle the ball for a short period of time, so bringing the all up to help break the press makes sense.  Also could have opened up the deep ball.  Plus, setting a few screens may have helped instead of just trying to out run Aaron Craft, which is probably a poor choice...

It'd be nice if the PBA store's ability to take credit cards would work the entire game and for them to not be rude about it

Honest question, but is there anything you guys actually enjoy during a game?

"there's an 90 year old man in my section who doesn't stand up to clap for the fight song...." "Tim Miles won't favorite my tweets..." "Mike Peltz won't follow me on instagram..." "There's a red zone student who audibly said the f word during a time out! My ears!! WHAT WOULD TOM THINK?!"  
 
It gets old, folks. As someone who spent his college career in the front row of the Red Zone, I can tell you the last thing we wondered about was what some message board dudes had to say about our enjoyment of a game.

Can't we say that any press is good press right now about our basketball program...?

I blame the people who leave early for the increased prices.  Oh wait, no....that's amazingly unreasonable...

I'm going to speak on this issue as I've been a member of the "leaving early" crowd from back at the Bob.  I'll be amazingly honest and say that my leaving early at the fair grounds had everything to do with the excruciating mental anguish sitting in line to leave the parking lot caused me.  Now at PBA, I'm actually much happier staying to the end of the game because of the parking options.  Since I refuse to pay a cent to pay to park to watch a basketball game in Lincoln, Nebraska I usually park downtown somewhere and hike over to the arena.  Last night was pretty freaking cold, but I left after the game was over, had a nice walk to my car and sailed out of downtown.  
 
Now that I've admitted I now stay until the end of games, I'll remind you all that we do live in America.  And since people pay their hard earned wages to spend on what they choose, we can probably stop this cat and mouse game of crying over a few people who have decided not to stay until the bitter end.  It is a pretty tired and pedantic argument that seems to only come from the small fraction of people who seem to hover over their keyboards on this website Let's be glad as many show up as do every game and cheer extra hard once they leave ok? k thx bye

People who pay for a ticket are generally grown men and women and can probably do what they want.  It doesn't make them any less of a Husker fan than any of the rest of us.  This is a tired and pedantic argument by this point in time.

Ive been a nebrasketball fan for several years now, and I'm still lovin it, especially with Tim and co. running it now. But one thing I thought I'd bring up is the perturbing lack of respect of fans to STAY FOR THE GAME and not leave early. I realize there is a need to "beat the crowd" just like at the bob, but especially at this new arena with the fans leaving in front of the student section behind the basket with about 6 minutes left, it really ticks me off; it seems like a lack of respect.
 
I've seen several others mention this so I thought I'd bring it up. What is the best way to deal with this as fans? I feel they could at least go up the stairs to leave at court level, though the big exit on the court is so convenient and inviting.
I know that the teams we have played so far havent been great (except FGSU), so there is a propensity to leave early, and im sure it will even out when we hit the B1G play. But my question is, is it a good thing to base your actions on what happens, i.e. leaving en masse if we are losing badly? I feel we should stick with the team no matter what, through the highs and lows. I believe in Tim. they need the support. Why leave if you paid for the tickets? Why not stay? I stayed even in the hard times at the bob, and believe me, we had some rough spots

Thoughts?

Major props to Andre for playing aggressive and taking it to the UNO posts. When he and Ubel play with confidence, they are difficult to stop and can pose a few match-up problems. Crowd was what I expected on a Sunday. Only head scratcher were the students who didn't know why ripping up uno cards (you know, the card game uno) was funny today. Oh well, it's a long season.
