  1. I’m sure, as with football, practice info will be very limited with info since there’s no press allowed on location and very few if any people outside of staff getting to watch practice.
  2. Moving up levels makes it really hard to present a case of anything other than trying to improve your status. Despite most appeals going through I feel like this one would be tough to win imo.
  3. While the odds are low, I wouldn't put it past them to have an open line of communication with the family through trey and the coaches. Trey could one it and want an opportunity to play one year with his little brother and then hand the reins over to him for the future. Eventually one of these decades I hope there will be a player that wants to be "the legend" instead of being the next in line. One can hope at least.
  4. It may be early so I didn't want to create a thread but his 5 star brother who was committed to Florida State just reopened his recruitment.
  5. ESPN has him as #53 on their rankings ESPN 100 senior Wilhelm Breidenbach just committed to Nebraska. No. 53-ranked player in 2021 -- first top-100 high school recruit of the Fred Hoiberg era in Lincoln. Good nugget from @ESPNStatsInfo : Wilhelm Breidenbach is the fourth ESPN 100 prospect to commit to Fred Hoiberg. The previous three -- Georges Niang, Monte Morris, Matt Thomas -- are all in the NBA.
  6. We just got a commitment from the highest rated HS recruit we have got to Nebraska since these recruiting sites have existed and people are damning the coaches because they aren't able to land players we want. I honestly can't believe people that follow this team as religiously as they do haven't seen how big of a dumpster fire things have been and how they are starting to slowly turn. We have sadly had late flips to guys we thought we were getting but they are 4 star top 100 guys that we are starting to get after. We are getting some stellar transfers now that were top 100 and 4 star guys. We will start to win these recruiting battles more once these start playing and winning for us. Its not going to be overnight no matter how much people claim it can be done in basketball because its Nebrasketball.
  7. I was listening to Robins podcast for HOL the other day and they were saying with limited games in the non conference and some expected games that will be canceled due to COVID testing the committee won’t be relying on that data as much as they will rely on their eyes watching games.
  8. Except that if he comes in at semester, he would either have to walk on, or a scholarship player would have to leave before the semester starts like we had last year with Samari Curtis. Its not like football because they are playing at in both semesters whereas football they can roll them back due to players that graduate in December.
  9. Sounds as if things are heating up and he could potentially come in at semester. No clue on scholarship and how that would work but sounds like we are the front runners.
  10. It potentially worked as he received another offer after putting one out. You never know a coach could be interested in him and not being in that final group could give him FOMO and make him pull the trigger because of it.
  11. Based on trajectory HS—> D2 offer Prep School—> mid major Juco—> P5 offer P5–> NBA All-Star The math checks out.
  12. He spent this past season playing behind my favorite 2021 recruit Wilhelm Breidenbach. Yalden transferred this year but there was a connection to the staff watching him often this season.
  13. Hoiberg has said he doesn’t like the redshirt process unless it’s required due to transfer or injury. I don’t like it for basketball myself either. You only get so many roster spots you don’t want to waste them with a guy you don’t think could play for you today.
  14. I know he likes that but that's when he is getting guys he feels are very talented and are perfect fits for his system and that year will prep them to be potential major contributors. He also likes them because they can't play and are guys he doesn't have to worry about making them happy with getting minutes though either, which is not the case for Arop. Arop was not someone he personally pursued though and was essentially stuck with him as he's a local kid and you don't burn the bridges of the in state coaches out of the gate. Matt A has said once the one time transfer rule comes up he said they might consider carrying less than the 13 scholarships so they obviously aren't that worried about using one on him; for now.
  15. That’s just my thoughts on him. Because he has to transform his game and improve in several key areas I just don’t see him being anything more than a guy that gets in at the end of blowout games. He barely played last year until the season was lost and then struggled to show much in those chances. With the way Hoiberg is willing to turn over the roster I expect him to continue to recruit over him as well as others. I’d expect him to play less next year than he did this year on average and that average got there because of those last 3 games. I hope for his sake that’s not the case and he improved that much to get the chance but there’s already 11 guys on the roster I expect to play more than him and doubt we are playing that deep on a regular basis.
  16. He’s essentially a scholarship practice player going forward unless he makes an incredible transformation. With the one time transfer rules expected next year I doubt he sticks around much past the year.
  17. Im in the same boat. If he were a big time PF or Center that would be the missing piece, maybe you consider it but know there's a lot of pieces that would to be done and could hurt you long term with relationships and recruiting hurdles. With him being a guard i think our backcourt is solid enough to get by without him.
  18. He had insinuated after Sanogo that things in the local media didn’t help their standing with him. My guess is that if HOL, OWH, or the LJS Got stuff out about going after Andre that similar actions could have derailed that for them this time around.
  19. Robin said in his article that Fred and his staff deliberately didn’t let any info out about him until Monday night after he had already committed to them. You have to think they felt too much info got out with Sanogo that they wanted to protect this one.
  20. Balham pre-injuries but Jordy was full of layups and struggling to get over the rim.
