Interesting story on PSU - I do feel bad for the coaches/players when they're caught in something like that.
 
They really hung around at MSU last night till the 5-min mark. MSU got called for its 7th foul to put PSU in the bonus at that time, and PSU had only 4 or 5 fouls, so you knew what was coming next. Two fouls on PSU on defense, MSU eventually scores in the possession to go up 2. Then an illegal screen on PSU's next possession right before the under-4 media timeout. MSU in the bonus. All close calls.
 
Chambers went ballistic during the commercial break. Technical foul. MSU hits one FT to go up 3 and then nails a 3-pt shot to go up 6. Basically, game over, although PSU fought till the end.
 
The life of a have not when playing at the home of a blue blood. And it's not limited to the B1G.
 
 
I've been very surprised watching MSU the past two weeks how much they struggle inside. They miss Payne a bunch. Great 3-pt shooting team, although they were bad from beyond the arc at Maryland. And not a great FT shooting team - with our loose rims and poorly inflated adidas basketballs, we should give them a lot of problems with FTs.   
 
If we can stop them in transition, which we've been great at doing, especially at home, I love our chances Saturday. Can't have turnovers that fuel their running game. 

I feel for Pat Chambers a little bit.  He seems like a pretty decent fella.  But man, if you think *we* used to be negligent towards the hoops program during the Collier/Sadler years, you should see just how pathetic the PSU support for hoops is:

Another tough loss on the road last night. Thought they had a shot late to win - again - but they kicked it away - again.
 
How many losses in a row is that? 6? 7? 8? 
 
When was the last time a team went 0-fer in league play? They could be well on their way. They just look like a program whose coach and players are overmatched at a tougher level.

Okay, here we go with todays KenPom rundown.  So, we get a win over a top-50-ish Minnesota team and yet drop to 91.  SMDH.  At least we leap frogged Michigan into 10th in the league.  A couple of things jump out to me in today's rankings, namely the UIW loss continues to be the boat anchor on our ranking, and likely will remain that way barring some more W's against the top 30 teams we have remaining.  Fortunately we have a few more of those opportunities coming.
 
But as much of an anchor as UIW is, it's amazing to see how impressive the Cincinnati win continues to be for us.  They're now up to 31st, even more impressive to me simply due to the fact that they lost their Cronin for the year.  I gotta say I'm a BIG Bearcat fan this year!  Here are today's rankings.

And, to think, a lot of people had a whole lot of consternation that Trey Dickerson went with Iowa. Well, Iowa just got hammered at Wisconsin 82-50. Trey was their "player of the game" when he played 10 minutes w/ 8 pts, 1 assist & 1 steal. Nebraska is getting 20-30 minutes a night from Tarin Smith & NU has him for 3 more years! I think NU got the real gem & Iowa got a Trey-maker.

After seeing Miles and Pitino embrace in the post-game, I suddenly don't feel as much contempt for him as I had previously, assuming he got his job just because of his name and so forth.  I still despise Tom Crean, though.  Miles would have to hug him a whole bunch before I'd stop despising that steaming pile of pond scum.

Officiating, and the attitude of the officials, was disgraceful.  They thought we all paid our $21 to watch them.
 
That said, we need to improve our attitudes.  All of our reacting, emoting, body language, arm flailing, has pissed off the ones in charge.  They were waiting for us, and not going to put up with it.  As bad as they were, we need to just play.  Let the coaches work them.  We now have a rep. 

I have no problem with any Minnesota fans bitching about the refs tonight either.  It definitely went both ways.

I'd guess so, although Draft Express currently lists him at #81 on their top 100 prospects list. If I were in his shoes, I wouldn't come out this year.
