  1. I know, I just mostly wanted to type sonofabitch. And now I got to do it twice this afternoon.
  2. Looks like the corner could be salvaged, would require a couple of years' work to get the guts put back together, though. Probably worth the time, effort & funds to do so. Devastating fire but it appears to be a situation that can and likely will be recovered from with much determination & dollars too! If I won the powerball I'd make sure funds wouldn't be an issue in restoring the building.
  3. I dunno, but this fan Of Ray Williams sonofabitch stole my formatting for their KenPom thread!!! http://www.forums.gopherhole.com/boards/showthread.php?65394-2016-Pomeroy-College-Basketball-Ratings-(-65-Minnesota)
  4. Rutgers Hits Rock Bottom Losing to Nebraska 90-56 - On The Banks http://www.onthebanks.com/2016/1/9/10743020/rutgers-hits-rock-bottom-losing-to-nebraska-90-56 Enough is enough! This was a gutless performance and extended their conference losing streak to 19 games.
  5. KNTK - Morning Take: Should the huge Nebrasketball win give fans hope? http://www.theticketfm.com/podcasts/morningtake/2016_01_11_2.mp3 (20:14) And talking El Chapo.
  6. They played MSU close... ...granted, Valentine was out, but still...
  7. Their own fans aren't very confident: http://www.forums.gopherhole.com/boards/showthread.php?66620-Predict-The-Score-Nebraska-01-12-16
  8. Hope they can save it, the Old Market wouldn't be the same without M's.
  9. So, there hasn't been much (or any) chatter about this player. Rivals has us listed as having interest though. https://rivals.yahoo.com/7on7/basketball/recruiting/player-Majok-Kur-170237 He looks the part, too: Anybody know if there is still interest there? I would think that with this cat being Sudanese and Arop coming in 2017 it might be a good fit. I'm kinda intrigued by him, I gotta say. Also, is there a thread on him yet? Should there be??
  10. I think this thread could use a good old fashioned internet pissing match though.
  11. New hypothetical. Let's say both Northwestern and Nebraska make the dance, there are 4 potential scenarios. Scenario #1: Nebraska has already played (and won). Do you root for Northwestern? Scenario #2: Nebraska has already played (and lost). Do you root for Northwestern? Scenario #3: Nebraska and Northwestern play at the same time. Do you root for Northwestern? Scenario #4: Nebraska plays after Northwestern. Do you root for Northwestern?
  12. Pissing matches have been around forever though, that's what's old-fashioned about it. The internet is just the venue.
  13. I think they mentioned that like 3 of their guys (big men) were out with injuries. The team we faced yesterday was likely nowhere near the team that played the three games you listed.
  14. Yep. That was a bad, bad team out there and apparently they have like three of their main guys out win injury. It's weird but instead of being happy for the big blowout, you can only feel relief. I think winning by anything less than 20 should be an embarrassment even on the road. Iowa just might put 130 on 'em.
  15. And I could have sworn Aguek Arop was a Nebraska kid...
  16. I thought Tanner Borchardt was from Nebraska? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
  17. What if they drew Creighton in the first round?
  18. Actually, yes, probably. Going 0-7 in NCAA tourney games is on us not them, and it's good for the league to have as many teams win as many games in the tourney as possible. So why punish (for want of a better term) Northwestern simply out of spite? But I would say the odds of them actually getting to the dance are pretty slim. They appear to be like last year's PSU team. Penn State went 12-1 playing a cupcake-licious schedule in their non-con but still finished below us in the B1G. It appears that Northwestern's non-con this year may have even been a bit softer than Penn State's last year if you can believe it.
  19. I don't think it's the wheels screaming a0t0w0, apparently I threw Coach Smith under there earlier today. That's probably what you're hearing.
  20. Yeah, kinda that. Yeah. Interesting. So just to get this straight, then you are telling me that humans are hard wired to recognize patterns and link them together? I mean, it's one of the brain's primary functions, and it's necessary to our survival and it's something that is of great benefit to us as a species? It's helped us to evolve into the highly advanced thinking machines that we are today?? But, it is also this very pattern recognition that can lead us to come to false (or at best misleading) conclusions very often, and it is also a fundamental tenet of what we call superstition? That it's why people insist on wearing their "lucky t-shirt" or to jam their fists into the crack between sofa cushions to watch basketball games because they believe that since something happened in the past, the only way it'll happen in the future is if that condition (or pattern) is met every time? Even though we know rationally that there is absolutely no reason that any of that shit matters? Is this the thing you're telling me, Norm??? That's also why we see pictures of Jesus in a slice of toast,ect... our brains work very hard to find either a pattern or a picture in everything we see. Kind of cool huh? Yep, it's also why the ancients developed the constellations in the night sky. It was an attempt to make sense of the seeming randomness of the stars and galaxies and develop a greater understanding of what it all meant. Of course Orion is just an absolute random collection of stars and our perspective on them, but to us it was a mythical creature, it looked like something so it meant something. But to go back to the Miles/Smith thing for a bit, that argument is a classic example of the "after this, therefore because of this" logical fallacy. We see what we want to see because it fits an agenda, if for no other reason to explain an uncomfortable reality that we want to deny or explain away. It's someone else's fault and here's a reason why. Doesn't mean it's wrong, and it doesn't mean it's right. It just isn't appropriate. Logically speaking, anyway.
