  1. None of this bothers me as a fan. I think both players and coaches realize that basketball is still supposed to be a "team" sport and it is much easier to motivate a team which is "disrespected" than a team which is considered a "favorite".
  2. Ouch. I may have been proven wrong. Can't say I am unhappy about that, though. I hope it holds true for both points and wonder how HHC legend hhcDave is faring on his plans.
  3. Looks like we are 5-0 vs this triad. Now to make it a half dozen.
  4. I thought for a moment that a hand grenade had exploded on the floor near #24.
  5. Got it. Do they still do the hokey thing where they show couples in the audience surrounded by a heart and expect them to kiss? I hated that too.
  6. As a tv game watcher now, I don't really care who is in the stands watching a game-and that also goes for Taylor Swift. Keep focusing on what happens on the court.
  7. So far as the game went, my snap decision to attend the game was somewhat disappointing, needless to say. We froze our butts off at the Rose Parade and I missed the flyover of the stealth bomber while trying to buy a hot cup of overpriced coffee. My only brush with celebrity was eating breakfast in the hotel coffee shop and noticing that Jerry West was sitting at the next table. I didn't try to get an autograph which I would have undoubtedly done if it had been Larry Bird.
  8. Going into the postseason with a loss to Michigan would give me the same feeling I had in 2001 before going to the Rose Bowl after getting drubbed by Colorado. And I think we all recall what happened. So, let's quit worrying about our fate if we lose and just plan on winning. Right, Cip?
  9. Let's hope his coaching trajectory is a bit steeper than this fellow Pius X grad and coach's son. Patrick Nee accepts Allen County position - Northern Oklahoma - Tonkawa (nocmavs.com)
  10. I think it was November 28, 1978. In addition, my youngest son also got his autograph at the old Boston Garden while he was a Celtic (and unfortunately, lost it).
  11. Oh yeah, I remember seeing this guy when he played center for Minnesota at BDSC.
  12. Of course, he's been dead for 51 years now.
  13. I have to take a break now-my head just exploded.
  14. One of the most underrated singers of the 70-80's. He died too young in an airplane crash on New Year's Eve 1985. I was visiting my in-laws in El Paso and attended the Sun Bowl Classic basketball tourney, which featured Nebraska, who finished third (We lost to Alabama and beat Ohio State-UTEP with Jeep Jackson and Dave "Cheese" Feitl won). The news put a bit of a pall on what was a very memorable visit.
  15. I hope there will be no rushing the court this time when we win.
  16. I wonder if Tominaga's parents will be here again. It's not exactly like walking across the street to get here from Japan. Hopefully they will make it since he seems to play well when they are in the stands.
  17. To answer your question in the real world since I don't play the game, Dave, I will choose door #1. When I peruse the obits each morning, I realize that my own chance to see us join the list of teams to win an NCAA game is rapidly diminishing. I've now seen the Chiefs, the Red Sox, the Husker football team, and the Jayhawks win multiple championships and my final sporting ticket that needs punched is the illusive NCAA win before the conductor asks for mine. And I'm not even asking to win the whole damn thing (although it would be a nice bonus).
