Parker picks up a foul on a shot, which doesn't go in. Two shots for Appling... scoring two. 40-43, 12:50 left.
Ubel is stuffed, but MSU can't convert on the fastbreak, and Huskers get a lucky break on the out-of-bounds.
Another block in close combat...
Whew... glad the refs didn't bite on the flopping three-point shooter.
SHAAAAVON SHIELDS! Huskers are at 40-41 with 14:05 left. Crowd is on its feet... and MSU misses a three! Husker ball... and Rivers is hounded, drawing a foul (non-shooting)!
Indeed. If the offense isn't getting it done, the defense better do something.
Hmm... maybe Doc's curse has afflicted the Spartans
Oops, they just scored to break a 5-minute drought.
State nails both free throws, forces a bad shot from the Huskers, and hits the triple.
But then, after a bunch of offensive failure, Rivers gets the chance for the old-fashioned three. 11-17, 11 minutes in the first (approx.)
First time I've seen a basketball game go more than 4 consecutive minutes with no dead ball. Thus, the timeout after the foul, and a timeout at the next dead ball!
Ditto. I'm #35, particularly because I have two unsightly missed-game penalties.
(Of course, you should see my late post from an earlier Women's Pick-em.)
