Good interview 0:00 thru about 33:00. First 10 mins are intro, etc, & Fred Hoiberg having to leave the game at Indianapolis because of illness. Starting about 10:00 talks about the team some, current status, very complimentary of Delano Banton. From 20:00 thru 33:00 talks about recruiting philosophies, transfers, and how recruiting has changed because of coronaviras limitations.

As of late last night, we have a healthy and happy boy. Has not shown a left or right had proclivity yet - so I’m assuming ambidextrous and highly skilled! Mom is doing great!

Thanks guys for all the messages!

I appreciate Green.  I will try to remember him by cheering his ass of for his teammates with a towel in hand when he was out of the rotation against Iowa.  Wasn't sulking, didn't quit and gave us some decent minutes down the stretch.  Wish him well.

I'm not sure you can blame Aurora for playing in the classification that the NSAA put them in. I didn't see people calling out traditional class B schools like Nebraska City, Sidney, or Holdrege for playing in C1 this year. It's very rare that schools choose to opt up a class from the one the NSAA puts them in.

Bug, that's completely untrue. Aurora switched to C-1 for football due to NSAA's new regulation for "boy enrollment"! And, I also believe another reason to not 'jump' back up to B this past season is because the scheduling quirks of the past decade were tiresome.... Aurora had to travel to either Scottsbluff or Gering every season plus Alliance and/or McCook every year. Once Aurora was leading big on S-Bluff late in the 2nd half when a big weather system went overhead; needless to say, Bearcats didn't call it, and Aurora still won after the large delay, the Huskies got home at 5 a.m. on a Saturday. Which is total crap. For being one of the smaller enrollments in class B football of the prior decade, they kicked a$$ with 2 state titles & 2 runners-up. Then, of course, Husky pride steamrolled through Class C-1 this year averaging 52-13 in their ballgames, including 49-7 over the Chanticleers in the championship game. So, no, "not tired of getting beat" at all.

Personally, I wish Aurora had remained in B, but the scheduling was a huge impediment for coaches, players, parents, and fans to deal with, in my opinion. I've heard that Aurora could head back to B if/when "boy enrollment" continues to pick up (*as expected). I do believe Aurora could have competed in B this past season with Baylor Scheierman at QB. Dude broke all of Scott Frost's all-time Nebraska records !!!

The NSAA choose to change the classification system for football only for the current 2 year cycle. These changes came after a committee studied ways to try and decrease the enrollment gaps between the top and bottom schools in classes. Class B has always had the largest disparity because of the population makeup of our state.  The changes included classifying for football based on a school's male only enrollment and if it was between a certain range, without regard for how many teams would be in each class as has been done in the past and is still the case in other sports. So these are the enrollment numbers used for football https://nsaa-static.s3.amazonaws.com/textfile/about/1819boys.pdf  (Aurora was the 3rd largest C-1 school).

Other sports have not changed their classification systems yet so they are still based off of total school enrollment, changes could be happening in the future.  Under the current system it is extremely common for teams to be in different classes for different sports and always has been. Some sports have 6 classes (Football, Basketball, Volleyball) while other sports have 4 classes (Wrestling, Track, X-Country, etc.) I believe baseball only has 2 and softball 3 classes. Other reasons include a different number of male only schools (Mt. Michael, Creighton Prep) to all female schools (Marian, Mercy, Duchesne).

Schools can opt up classes in certain sports and not other. (NSAA rules) Sounds like half the Aurora school board wanted to and the other half did not.

    All,

Been thinking about all of this for a while so here goes

Recruiting Forum - This is now publicly viewable. Up until now this has been members only. There were a couple of reasons for this.  Mainly I didn't want anything on this forum to be the reason a guy didn't commit and on a lesser note to encourage people to register. These days if I search around on the internet for a recruit's name he'll end up showing up on a few Husker forums out there already. I think overall we tend to paint a pretty fair to mostly positive picture of a guy.  Also you'll notice that this is a sub-forum instead of it's own forum now.  I think there are people here who prefer to navigate to only one place so this should make it easier to find. For everyone else it shouldn't be much of an adaptation.

Handle Change - When I first started on this site as a regular members I started with the name "Droppin Dimes" and then changed to "HHCDimes" when I started running the site. Like most everyone else around here I didn't go by actual name and hadn't seen any advantage to it.  I've considered that people might be more open in confiding to me in the future if they actually know who I am instead of some anonymous guy on a message board so now I'll be going by "HHCMatt" and you'll see in my profile that my name is Matt Knobbe.  For a very small sub-section of people here you'll know me as the Tecmo Super Bowl guy. :).  Eventually I'll change my avatar and what not.

Women's forum name change - This is in honor of Brian "Row6Seat10" Karnatz who passed away last year.  Without him there wouldn't be a women's section on this forum. Thanks @Norm Peterson and anyone else who suggested this.

Full disclaimer, I am fairly young and the first Nebrasketball team I remember watching is the 2000-01 squad led by Cookie Belcher.  So there may be some recency bias here, especially since the Tim Miles Era has produced much more athletic ability than the Barry Collier or Doc Sadler eras.

Without further ado, my own personal top 5 Nebrasketball dunks of all time:

    1. Jason Dourisseau breaks the basket.  I'll admit I did not watch this one live, but did listen to the call on the radio and saw it on Sportscenter the next day.

    2. Caleb Walker Alley-Oop vs. Illinois.  One-handed alley oop from a pass outside the three point line... incredible.

    3. Isaac Copeland posterizes 7'2" Isaac Haas.

    4. Sek Henry posterizes Andre Drummond.  Technically not a Nebrasketball dunk but I can't leave this one out.

    5. James Palmer Jr. posterizes Kevin Huerter.  This may not even be JPJ's best dunk but in the moment it so unexpected and dunking over a first-round NBA talent is a big deal.

    Honorable mention:

    * Roby rises up vs. Rutgers:

    * David Rivers dunk vs FGCU to open up the PBA

    * The Aleks Maric dunk, which always looked the same

    * JPJ Kobe Bryant dunk vs. Penn St.

    * The Cookie Miller dunk (he claimed he could do it but don't think I ever saw it)

    * Terran Petteway posterize vs. Baylor in the NCAA Tournament.  would have made the list if this game had gone well
