  1. My vote is for Dwayne Stevens. We need a B1G coach who can recruit the B1G footprint for B1G style players, B1G bigs SB Nation MSU site "As a coach he not only featured prominently in the development of future NBA big men like Paul Davis, Draymond Green, Adreian Payne or Jaren Jackson Jr but also developed into the bench‘s second defensive mastermind. “There is a reason why he‘s my defensive coordinator,” Tom Izzo says, never shy of implementing a football term. “He does understand it, he‘s very analytical and he has a great understanding of the X‘s and O‘s. Sometimes coaches get labeled as recruiters only but DJ is a very good coach who can and will help me with a lot of things.” It is a sentiment that‘s widely shared among the Spartans staff, some even say that Stephens is on par with his head man when it comes to defensive prowess."
  2. I had a rat terrier, Monte, who developed diabetes and it took his sight, but many dogs can compensate and he had a happy, full life. He was a champion fetcher, would chase a ball as long as you would throw it, until his tongue was hanging to the ground. After the blindness, we got him a ball with a jingle bell in it and he went right on fetching. Despite adversity, he had determination and fight in him...he also knew how to stop the perimeter 3 and take timeouts when the other team got on a run...so, had we not lost Monte to cancer I think he would be a viable candidate.
  3. I have to ask again...for the love of dog...can someone clarify to Fred that tanking in the B1G does not get you better picks in the draft?
  4. I have yet to watch Lasso, I find optimistic, heartwarming sports stories unrealistic.
  5. Fred sent them to the concessions stand but the wait times are little longer when the arena is full, so they did not get back
  6. So you're telling me there's a chance?
  7. You would think a team with Nebraska on their jersey would ... I don't even have a punchline, just bitter, bitter disappointment
  8. "hey everyone...the basketball team is dreadful but, how bout them Bengals" What's next Dorothy Lynch recipes?
  9. This has the feeling of a Nebraska Men's Basketball game, a sick, familiar, unredeemable constancy.
  10. Can the players hear them? Maybe no one else has mentioned it to them.
  11. Maybe the team can come along they have been denting iron all game
  12. Start the bus.
  13. Trey-grant foul.
  14. Just saw the indeed dot com ad, had to check...23,000+ resumes to choose from
  15. WhyohWhy? Ball
  16. Don't.Leave.Your.Feet.To.Pass
  17. Maybe instead of referring to them as scoring droughts we should call them power naps.
  18. Hello droughtness my old friend
  19. Even when we get a paint/layup shot we can't finish.
  20. I would rather see Lat take an ill-advised three than try to drive. I'm not sure how players can practice everyday and still be so fundamentally flawed at dribbling and passing
  21. I think the one thing we all agree on is $18.5 million is a lot of money to be given. Especially for winning 25% of games. If the optics preclude a buyout then there has to be a negotiation. Trev: this isn't working, do you want to quit? Fred: No, I believe in myself and these kids. Trev:Really? Fred: Gosh yeah. Trev: okay, how about a wager. I will bet you 18.5 million that you can't make it to the NCAA tournament next year. Fred: I make it to the NCAA tournament and I get 18.5 million? Trev:yep Fred: and if I don't, I owe the university $18.5 million? Trev: yep
  22. I love that this appeared in Shatel's column "Heard a Husker hoops fan last weekend ask if the Butler athletic director's job was open. Hey you have to laugh so you don't cry." I know it might have been someone else with the same sense of irony, but I'm gonna let myself have this win...might the last one I get this season.
  23. Hand the 18.5 million in a paper bag(I mean nil) directly to recruits? I'm sorry you said serious question. That is the challenge. We already changed everything, we thought for the better, in the last ten years and are getting blown out by Northwestern and compared unfavorably to Wyoming.
  24. I'm confused...U of A in Tucson started selling beer a few seasons ago, probably saw the train wreck of the Sumlin era coming, and crowds did not increase or stay the same, they shrunk. Three dreadful seasons of Sumlin and one bad ( but too soon to tell) season of Fisch and MLS preseason is likely to draw bigger crowds. (The 4th Avenue St Fair does) I can sit home and watch a team quit on a coach with beers that cost less than half stadium prices. Why would anyone be enticed by overpriced beer if they no longer buying into the team? Beer is not keeping the arena full.
  25. Krzyzewski's available I'm intrigued by Turgeon.
