  2. Jeez, didn't mean to sound defensive, sorry to post my opinion.
  3. The back drop to the rankings is that they're evaluating which coaches are doing the best job RIGHT NOW. Take a snapshot of this particular moment in time and ask who the coaches are who are doing the best job and this is the list they came up with. Plenty of room for disagreement. He has taken a program that previouly just had four NCAA appearances to the eilite 8 twice, the sweet 16 once, has won the NIT, and has been runner up in the NIT as well. He did this with a program that was on probation and had a previous player murder a fellow teammate.
  4. How is Scott Drew #50? He inherited a program in possibly the worst circumstances and turned them into a winner.
  5. I'm not sure if it was my first Nebraska game I ever went to, but it is the first one I remember. It was the 92-93 season and I was eight years old. I remember Devaney being absolutely packed and we were way up on the wooden bleachers crowded in. KU was coming into the game ranked like 3rd or something and we beat them, it was awesome seeing as a kid.
  6. For some reason I'm the exact opposite from Cookie--this thread and discussion are incredibly frustrating and disappointing: it's like listening to a guy who just won a multi-million $ lottery complain about finances. For Pete's sake, whatever happened to "long, lean and under-rated"? By definition, Tim Miles' recruits will apparently be a disappointment to most. Heck, look at what Tim Miles did at Colorado State with few-to-none stars behind his recruit's names. And for the record, NU is not a tough place to recruit--just ask Tim Miles and, as he says, Connie Yori, John Cook, etc. And for the further record, the world of college basketball is filled with highly-rated recruits whose college performance falls somewhere between "disappointing" and "crashed and burned." Just look at the list of multi-star transfers this year and every other recent year. And then compare them with the over-achieving-from-expectations performance of most players on Tim Miles teams, such as the likes of Benny Parker, Shavon Shields, Walter Pitchford, Terran Petteway, Leslee Smith, and all the scholarship seniors on the prior year's team. AMEN.
  7. It still amazes me people are actually complaining about Miles. Most of the people I see complaining about him are bandwagon fans that just started following Nebraska basketball this season, so I try not to take their opinions as anything other than uninformed. Both of your replies may be directed at someone else, maybe it was mine. I think if you read through my response again, you will see I wasn't "complaining" about Miles. Not in the least. Just suggesting that recruiting here is tough, and that it's my opinion we haven't established ourselves as a permanent fixture in the upper division of the Big Ten just yet given who we have signed the last 12 months. Kamdy, if you are directing your comment at me that I don't understand recruiting - I'm guilty as charged. Just sharing my perception of what has transpired the last year. Who knows. I could be completely off base and we might have just signed two all-Big-Ten players this past year. Time will tell. No it wasn't directed at you.

  9. Thanks. Where was yours? Was just kiddin' with ya. Sorry didn't mean it malicious like. You are taking this very personally.
  10. His son did the interviewing for him and got to interview Pop, it was really strange seeing Pop nice to an interviewer.
  11. Man that sucks I love Craig Sager. His interviews were the best when players made fun of his suits.
  12. I think it has become a little more negative, but nothing too much to worry about. I am just mad I haven't got to post at all this season because I've been so busy. Especially considering this is the most I've been excited about our team since I was sitting up in the wooden bleachers of a sold out Devaney in 1994 when my dad would bring me to games.
  13. I really like this description.
  14. Remember when people were upset Groce wasn't hired? That Tom Osborne guy apparently knew what he was doing.
  15. I think it's sad that a host of a show that has largely been considered the best sports talk show in the state is going to message boards to rile up fans to help his show. Pretty sad Between 1480 and 93.7, Lincoln has the afternoons locked up at the moment. I'm not even sure why I have 590 as a pre-set anymore. Oh I agree 100%. I bet 590 wished they still had Michael Grey. I heard he was good, but never tuned in. I've tried listening to their new show but Handley is terrible. The only thing Unsporsmanlike Coduct has going for them is guests who have comitted before Severe left. Michael Grey was the only thing I listened to, especially with Kugler not being on local radio anymore. Was bummed out when Grey went to Seattle.
  16. Dev doesn't NEED to play hoops again, Dev needs to focus on school and appreciate the opportunities given to him. Dev needs to go to class, assume responsibility for himself, and earn a degree in something he cares about. Dev needs focus on school, thats what will help him in life, basketball is just a game.
  17. There are few opportunities like having an education paid and playing in front of your home school. I wish you the best Biggs, and I hope everything works out.
  18. Maguy Agau (2015), Makoor Arop (2016), and Aguek Arop (2017) Aguir Agau (2017) I believe were all at the game.
  19. His dad is from Lincoln, was a state champion swimmer.
  20. Gibbs is a douchebag. I did find it funny when McDermott was trying to be chummy with Miles at mid court after the incident and Miles pretty much ignored him.
  21. Word. I like the black unis but they definitely could have been better looking. The best jerseys Nebraska has worn By far are the throwbacks first worn a couple years ago.
