Go look at my posts on Huskers Online... Banton and Cross shocked the hell out of me!  Banton has NBA Handles and Size, and Cross is much more than an undersized Center

This.  Petteway's only option in the league was a scoring shooting guard.  That's the hardest position to be because it requires you to be an elite scorer night in and night out.  Petteway was an okay defender and an okay shooter, so he could never be a 3 and D guy.

Roby is an entirely different prospect.  He is never going to be asked to be a primary scorer in the league.  Scouts are interested in the freakish things he does on the defensive end to influence games and his elite speed in transition.  For a big, he is a freak athlete, including in the NBA.  Look at his post-scrimmage test results.  They were all top 5 for bigs.  For Petteway, he had to get hot to take over games or he was a detriment to the team.  Roby can be cold from the field and still make his team better with the other things he does on the court.  If I'm an agent, I'm pitching Roby as a longer Iggy.  Golden State could make fantastic use of him.

Here is a Tim Miles quote from a coaching clinic that I wrote down. "If you have great space in your offense, I call that standing still... but if you're discombobulated, that means the defense is too. So maybe there's a real opportunity to attack." It actually made my jaw drop. Conversely, Fred always says something along the lines of, "the single most important thing we work on every day is spacing."

As the great Chuck Daly once said, "Offense is spacing and spacing is offense."

Well I was slightly disappointed we landed Yvan over Cross, but I could not be happier landing both of these guys!

Paul Millsap when he was at Louisiana Tech is my comparison. Great rebounding instincts, very physical, uses his body well but played below the rim most of the time. Tyler Cook was an unbelievable athlete and very polished at that age. I remember watching his high school highlights and seeing him do in-game windmill dunks regularly.

After watching his videos and reading articles on him.  Here are the things I noticed.

    1. If he is actually 6'9 he had to grow 2-3 inches since those videos were posted

    2. He does not have touch on his shot at all.  I really hope Hoiberg can fix that

    3. He has really good footwork inside the paint.

    4. He has good control of his body even though it looks like he travels and fouls on almost every play.  I watched closely and he is not traveling.

He is a solid post pick up, I am just not sure he is going to be game ready next season? The problem is we need a post to be ready next season!  I have my fingers crossed he is big/strong enough to be servicable on defense ASAP.

There were a few times in that video that he dribbled 3, 4 or 5 times on the block.  That's probably not gonna play in the Big Ten.

Got to spend about an hour talking to Gallegos and pitchford after the nw game at Buffalo Wild Wings that tourney year.  He was in a miserable slump.  Gave him a nice pep talk and told him to keep shooting.  Went out and had a huge game at Indiana the next game.  A game that we desperately needed.  I guess what I am trying to say is that I deserve a lot of the credit for us dancing that year:) Very nice low key guy. Odd pairing with pitchford for sure.

Roby - Played like he should play day in and day out.  The kid is an absolute game changer when he plays like he did last night

Watson - Looked like a leader tonight.  When we needed a clutch shot he stepped up to the plate.  It is nice that when our other stars are choking we have other stars that are there to step up.

Allen - I think he needs to be allowed to shoot 5 of Palmers shots during the games.  Meaning Palmer needs to shoot the ball 5 times less and Allen needs to shoot 5 times more.  His shot is too consistent to only shoot it 7 times

Palmer - Well the nation has figured out he can't score on Zone defense.  If he doesn't figure out what to change, he needs the ball in his hands less.  We need him to be the guy, and the last 3 games he has been everything but.  He is getting almost all of his points from the Free Throw line,  and that is not necessarily a bad thing, but his shooting % has been a joke.  He needs to get the NBA off of his mind and focus on the team and Winning... then the NBA will come.

Copeland - Same as Palmer... Get the NBA off of his mind as well.  He is different though.  He isn't playing in the flow of the game at the moment.  He is forcing more than he needs to.  Other teams are focusing on shuting him and Palmer down.  In turn he still needs to get rebounds and assists.  Roby, Watson and Allen are all capable of handling the load

They need to get back to "Team" first, and take what the defense gives you.  If the give you Watson, Roby and Allen then get them the ball to make the shots.  Then once teams realize that those three can beat them just as easily things will open back up for Cope and Palmer.  They need to play in the flow of the game, and stop forcing bad shots (in Palmers case).  Also stop taking plays off (In Copelands case)

You know I can't let this comment slide.  I tried and I tried, but I just can't let it go!  Not one person in the HHCC picked a 20 point victory, but yet we were supposed to win by 20 or 30?
