He'll have three years to start after this year. He'll be one of the first off the bench if he's truly behind Schierman.

Remember when we used to think we wanted players who were one-and-done?
I'd 100% still want players like that if they buy into what the new philosophy is, at least what I hope it is and last year wasn't just a one year fluke...

Give me Sallis, Wrightsell, Hughley and Williams and I'll be very happy about this offseason. If another spot opens up or something, add in Dunlap.
No idea if they can pull all four or five of those guys in, but I think that's my ideal scenario with what I know about who they're looking as of the typing of this message.

What did they say?
Paraphrasing, they're optimistic he'll return and the remaining players on the team are as well. They don't know for sure what he's going to do, but those in the program feel good about where they're at.

Based on what they said on 1620 this AM, I'd put it at about 75%.

Gary Sharp talked about how Hunter's mom was really impressed with Hoiberg, it was just too far down the road by the time he was hired. I don't get the impression the relationship with NU is bad.

Pretty much all the coaches will be down at the Final Four this weekend, so I wouldn't expect to hear much before then. IDK about the whole dead serious thing, but I think, Art is right, we'll see more action once the F4 is over.

Sirens went off in Lincoln this morning. Does that mean we are now in a Chucky watch?

Most important portal news so far is Lloyd not being in it, right? There’s no reason he wouldn’t be in there if that was his plan…
I'm not sure it was ever in the plan. At least not anytime recently. Perhaps it was in November.

2000s.
It's not a single game that we lost. That happens all the time. It was a crazy series of events that cost us one of the best recruits we'd had in a VERY LONG TIME and people who were active on the board back then are aware how gutted I felt about it and couldn't even say his name for like a year. Left me feeling like we were actually cursed.
I can't believe it's not the first thing that popped into everyone's minds.
Oh! The Notre Dame posters from Mike Gesell's basemen!
there's been so much it all blends together...
-
I'd guess the odds are that he'd follow his old cost to the Big Apple.

Wrong decade.
Think "curse."
What's the first event that happened to our program that made you say "we're just cursed."
The most "Nebrasketball" thing ever.
If you made a list of the most Nebrasketball things ever, this would probably be #1.
lineup card from the Xavier game?
If we're talking the 80's, my rolodex doesn't really go back that far...

Yikes.
Not a good look for the University.
They tried to fire the Coach "for cause" so they don't have to pay the $11 million buyout.
Here are the main parts of the firing letter, according to ESPN:
"Anderson was fired for 'failure to create and support an environment that strongly encourages student-athletes who are in the men’s basketball program to meet all university academic requirements,' 'failure to perform your duties and responsibilities in a manner that reflected positively on St. John’s University … in actions [that] brought serious discredit' to the school and 'failure to appropriately supervise and communicate with your assistant coaches.' – via ESPN"
The University had better have some strong evidence to back up those conclusory statements--or the University is going to lose.
Yeah, it’s not a great look, but they also just hired Rick Pitino, so I’m not sure that’s their chief concerned either.

Someone want to tell Dana there’s a place that gets 10-15K a night for a team that hasn’t been to the post season in 5 years?
Sharp and Handley talked about this today. Gary said Dana wanted the job twice: When Collier was hired and when Hoiberg was hired. If things go south and Dana is either still at Oregon, out of coaching or not at another high major job, I wonder if Trev could finally pull off the trick?

Will there be anything replacing the B1G/ACC challenge?

I hope that's not the end...but it might be...

So, does Chuckie watch begin in about an hour?

Of course it'd be nice to see, but at some point you figure he is what he appears to be.
Maybe, but last season he was a good to very good shooter. So we have a season of good and a season of bad. That's not really a new phenomenon and I can think of more than few examples where players rebounded from a down year.

Makes sense. Either get old through the portal or get old through developing your roster.
Ideally, it’d be a bit of both.
