  1. Norm, you'll probably be able to move closer over the next couple of years. Attrition will knock out some season ticket holders over time.
  2. I'm in row 2 in the 200 level and the railings weren't in my view angles. I went down to row 1 to see if I'd want to try and move down in the future, but the railing is right in my way, so I think I'm pretty well set.
  3. These are basically my seats except from the other side. I walked through the open house today and ran into Norm. We walked around a while. tried to sneak into the locker room but they had that locked down pretty good and wouldn't let anyone in without a tour guide. It's not going to be as intimate as the Devaney Center was, but it will be more intimate than the CLink, somewhere in between the two. It does go up pretty high, though, which help with the noise levels...if the fans are making noise. They let you go down on the floor and shoot around. It was mostly kids or high school kids playing a quick game of one on one with a buddy or a guy playing keep away from his girl friend by dribbling it all over the place, which was really annoying while people were standing around waiting for a loose ball. Anyway, if Diaz would have boxed out as ferociously as some of the moms did to get their kid a chance at a shot, he would have been an All-American.
  4. Maybe, but more and more often in college basketball, talent trumps experience. Just not really sure how talented we really are.
  5. no it's not, just watch and see who visits. Those are our main targets, likely in the order they visit. Wouldn't that be somethin'?
  6. I wouldn't infer that, it's just a position we're very deep at for the next few years and we need players in the worst way in the paint.
  7. Haven't really had much of either lately, Norm.
  8. February is softer than I first thought when I saw it come out, but dang, its still tough. If the Huskers can find a way to pull a couple of upsets early in conference play, they might have a shot, but that's a brutal schedule. Swapping Michigan and Indiana for MSU and Wisconsin is an upgrade in difficulty and not getting Minnesota twice this year is a bummer. nothing like a trial by fire. Looking forward to watching it develop.
  9. Conference schedule is out...it's a doozy.
  10. They've done it exactly how they should do it. They've got a diverse list that a will have broad appeal that will bring in a mostly different crowd for each show. They'll get to that genre eventually. Just a matter of getting the right band to come through and have the dates work out with the venue.
  11. What if after the opposing team calls a time out and maybe the last media time out, the whole student section on the floor rushes over to the corner around the visitors bench and just yells directly at their huddle and makes as much noise and not leave anybody the student section behind the husker bench empty.
  12. Not sure you want to get the littlest section the word "Big", That seems counter intuitive. Unless it was a progressive thing where each level joined the cheer rather than do it all their own, although the lower bowl would be hoarse by the end of it...
  13. When you hear a Michigander pronounce Michigan it sounds more like "Meatchicken" than it does "Mythagain", if that's what he's going for.
  14. It seems like that would get pretty corny (pardon the pun...) once Tai or any other New Zealanders left the program. I'd probably stay away from tribal dances. That might be just me, though.
  15. I don't think you want something that comes or goes with a player on the roster, you want something that will carry over and be applicable regardless of who is on the team or who the coach is. I'd avoid the haka chant. Also, I think KState stole the first down thing from the Chiefs. Kinda like the Braves stole the tomahawk chop from FSU...
  16. If you're gonna steal something, steal Chelsea Dagger from the Blackhawks. I bet it's one the band could even learn...
  17. Minnesota is the most balanced program. I kinda chuckled at that.
  18. Welcome to the real world, kid. Also, I like the Oregon style play book. Probably need to have some cheat sheets printed up so everyone's on the same page. A midnight madness would be good to help set the expectation. Might take a couple of years for that to catch on, though.
  19. Problem with "The Vault" is what happens when they rename X many years down the road? We lose all reference unless a bank buys the name rights. Wait, what? The whale? We did a Beach Party night for the USC game two years ago. I bought a big inflatable orca whale to bring to the game to crowd surf through the student section during free throws. During warm ups the players were getting a kick out of it and Mike Fox asked if we could crowd surf someone on it. We put our tiny roommate on it, lifted him up, and hilarity ensued. Pretty soon your friendly neighborhood campus cops were all over us threatening to throw us out. They ended up confiscating my whale and giving me my one warning before the game even started. I got it back after the cop made me wait 30 minutes after the game. He then informed me if we ever brought it back he'd knife it and escort me out. That would have been awesome.
