  1. That's great for Maryland, the Big Ten and college basketball. He might have been my favorite player to watch this year.
  2. Last season both Shavon and Walt were competent 3 point shooters. Both dropped off drastically. If they simply get back to what they were last year, that's a huge boost. Personally, I expect them to do that. I think Walt has a Conklin-esque senior year. I still want this team to run more last year, I think they'll have the roster for it.
  3. Don't see it. If he can get his head right, I think he's got a chance for a Conklin-lite-ish senior season.
  4. I said it in the chatter, but I think this team, if no attrition, and maybe even if there is, could play an uptempo, constant pressure, Dana Altman style of play. I think the roster should be set up for that sort of thing. If there is attrition, regardless of where it comes from, it should be filled with a post presence that can provide even a mediocre offensive threat.
  5. - I think this was as appropriate an ending as we could have expected for NU. - I wish Nebraska didn't have to get down by 15-20 before they turned up the intensity. - I have no idea what TP's gonna do. - I have no idea if we'll see any other attrition. - Wish we could have seen more of this Moses Abraham all season long. - Let's say there's no attrition, I feel like we'd have a roster that could play an uptempo, constant pressure, Dana Altman style of game. Not sure that's what Miles would want to do, but I think they could have some success that way. Don't have much to say that hasn't been said. I still think they'll be really good next year, whether or not TP comes back. I'm looking forward to seeing what it becomes. Here's to 2015-16 being the year of Nebrasketball's Redemption.
  6. - I was impressed with the energy they played with tonight. It would have been easy to pack it in, they didn't. - I was equally impressed with the fans. They filled the building, and were active for much of the game. For where this team is this year, that's pretty remarkable. - Shields had a great game. Really, really good, but did leave several points at the rim. - Heard Petteway's whole family was at the game. Gotta wonder if that's a decent statement of what direction he's leaning. Guy's gonna graduate, will be 23 and really doesn't have much left to prove at college. Even if he gets drafted late or not at all, it might be time for him to start collecting a paycheck as a professional, even if it's not at the NBA. I'd love to see what a Petteway, Shields, White offense could do, though. - Just a hunch, I think Tai's gonna have a big year. - I think the Huskers will play hard on Wednesday. We'll see if they play well. - They tried to use the formula they used last year, largely, by getting to the line, but couldn't convert. - 2-18 from 3. yeesh... - I think they missed 5 shots at the rim. Probably the difference in the game. - Big thanks to David, Leslee, Moses, Kye and Trevor. Not the most prolific class, but were a part of a pretty special part of Nebraska Hoops history. Good luck, men.
  7. - With no Walt, an ineffective Moses and Leslee dealing with more knee issues, why didn't Fuller get in the game? - Leslee Smith is a goddam hero for this team. I wonder what this team could have been had he been healthy this year. - I'm pretty sure this team hasn't "quit", I'm just not sure there's anything left in the tank. - Rivers played some great D tonight. - Lots of assists, too. - Shields with a nice bounce back game. - That shot Rice hit to put them up 9 always goes in vs. NU. Always.
  8. Miles had a 7 year contract he signed with Osborne as AD. And, from the goings on around Nebraska athletics, I would venture to speculate that Eichorst isn't making a change unless there are significant issues both on & off the court in the basketball world. New football coach is consuming attention and the bottom line is the Nebraska basketball culture needs nurturing & a revolving door at the helm of the program isn't going to help any one entity associated with Nebrasketball. Eichorst is a big fan of positive energy & doesn't want energy vampires who tend to suck the life out of things. Miles is a huge proponent of this same mindset of positive energy as a basis of his foundation. I have a feeling that Miles gets along with Eichorst, something Bo Pelini never did. None of us have any idea what Eichorst's and Miles' relationship is like. If he puts another season like this one on the floor, we have no idea what will happen. We really don't, it's all speculation. Maybe you don't know, but there are people who likely know. Just sayin': Tim ain't no Bo! I never claimed he was.

  10. It's condescending. So, yeah, it fits the messenger... Meh, he's a Mizzou grad, who works in Omaha, which is in Nebraska. Not something I'm gonna get worked up over.
  11. I mean...he's not wrong...
  12. Sorry, I'm having trouble with Twitter on here (it's on my end, Dimes, not yours...), is this in reference to the "I've seen more bad hoops..." tweet?
  13. All we've heard all year is that Fuller is the best *eligible* shooter on the roster. IF that's true, then of course he needs to get more shots.
  14. The sophomore at Norfolk. I don't remember his name. He was a load last year, a little lumbering but skilled, but a beast-in-the-making. How's he doing this year? I believe he was getting some D1 attention. That's a kid that should be in Lincoln. I'm still a little disappointed Jalen Bradley didn't get a chance here. He was such a good shooter. Thought he was every bit as good as Gessell in HS. Maybe not as quick...
  15. Who knows what Eichorst is thinking. It's not necessarily what the fans are thinking. AD's can be tricky like that sometimes, they like to put their own stamp on things and the biggest places he can do that are in football (he's already done that and that'll be the biggest determiner of how well he does his job) and men's basketball. The fact still remains that SE didn't hire Miles. If it goes in the tank next year (which I absolutely do not expect, but it's not entirely out of the question) I don't think anyone can say for certain how SE will respond. Miles *shouldn't* be on the hot seat next year...or the year after, but that doesn't mean he won't be. Just because BC and DS got six years doesn't mean Miles will.
  16. Smitty had a career high 13 tonight, too. We've been looking for complimentary players all season, but we need them to step up AND have TP and Shields be on their games. That's what good teams do. That's what we did when we got rolling last year. Haven't had it all year, can't be either TP/SS or Role Players.
  17. Not sure how many times I can rinse and repeat this thread. Dan Dakic said it best, this team is just uncomfortable. Miles is uncomfortable with this team. It's a broken team and a lost season.
  18. - That was a lot more closer to what we expected to see from this team all year. Too bad we had to wait until Mid February to see it. - Walter shouldn't start again this year. - Fuller played a lot. He wasn't great defensively, but he wasn't a liability for the most part. - Tai's taking a lot of heat today. But I agree with this more. I'm not giving up on Tai yet. - Shields had a really nice stretch and got to the rim at will in the second half. They suddenly, they stopped driving. I think it might have cost them the game. - Wonder how much of Moses we'll see the rest of the year. - If they play like this the rest of the year, they won't miss the postseason. - Didn't think Tarin had a great game tonight. - Melo Trimble is the truth. Dude can play. All said and done, I thought NU played really well tonight, hopefully they can put something together the last few games. I think they'll win on Sunday. Gotta find a way to beat OSU or Illinois.
  19. They'd probably get past Rutgers, but the matchups really aren't going to matter if they don't start figuring out how to play offense.
  20. - They came out focused and ready to play, which I expected after Friday. Couldn't sustain it, though. - Purdue's a whole different squad from last year. Playing much more together. Some nice young talent, too. - Nebraska's offense is so frustrating and their issues arent' going to get fixed this year, it's only going to come from roster changes. - If there's a coaching opening this year, I'd hope Miles looks for an offensive wizard. - Shields was great today. - Instead of using the trap as a way to get back into games, I'd love to see it a little earlier in games and use it to keep teams uncomfortable. - As good as the defense is, it can't overcome an inept offense. It's the hoops version of the 2009 football team.
  21. I always liked Thomas when he was in HS. Always good to see the local kids get a shot on the big stage. Hope he takes advantage of his opportunity.
